I think the art on the original is fantastic.
I like Brian Allen’s art too…but IMO he seems to make alternates for the translites that are already some of the best. In most cases I do prefer the originals.
I'm a fan of alternate translites, but I've had trouble connecting with what Brian has been doing for one simple reason: he keeps doing games that already have great, classic art. I'd just rather have the originals with those games.
Personally, I stick to the general rule of thumb that mods should be reversible. New cab art wouldn't count as reversible. And I don't think there's really anything wrong with the original artwork to begin with to necessitate replacing it.
Quoted from Aurich:he keeps doing games that already have great, classic art. I'd just rather have the originals with those games.
I agree--it would better to tackle a game that has mediocre or terrible art, then there would be a significant leap towards improving the game.
Agree. I'd vote instead for somebody making another alternative Shadow translite, the world can always use another one of those.
Quoted from 2manypins:Great artwork but I would prefer the original.
Same here. The original is great if not one of the best. I guess it’s better to rework some others like DM, shadow or IJ but there might be some license issues.
