Trying to trouble shoot an outlane eddy board for a theatre of magic, anyone know of a replacement chip for the 8 pin proximity sensor - TDA0161DP, these seem to be hard to find.

I know you can replace the entire board, but I'm 90% sure its the chip, and everything else is easily replaceable.

Anyone ever buy anything from utsource.net?

I'm sure I have.
It's hit or miss with most Chinese suppliers.

Found a supplier in NJ, minimum order $50 lol. So much for that idea

Well I ordered some from here: http://www.utsource.net/ic-datasheet/TDA0161DP-349707.html
I have extras coming if you need any Chris or anyone else - I will test them and see if they are the real deal.

Utsource sells remarks, but they do a good job on the recycling. Everything I have got from them works and they ship it well in antistatic packaging.

I would buy some if you get them, thanks.

While you are working on this board, I've found that there are two ceramic caps that work in some kind of controlled "ring back" loop. That's what I call it anyway. The value of those caps doesn't have to be precise, but they do have to be the same.

Well I rebuilt all the components on the Eddy sensor board (except the resistors) including the new chip, POT etc., and the board is working as it should again. You can rebuild this board entirely for about 10-15 bucks, TDA0161DP chip will come from china however - end up being about $5 a piece.

utsource.net - gets my full approval for china made chips that you can not get in the USA.

Could you give more details on what you replaced besides the chip? Diodes? Pot? Mind started acting up and looks like I'll have to repair it as none are available as far as I can find. I emailed pinbits to see if they would have the auto adjusting ones again.
