Coder Cabana issued a £531.99 GBP refund

We're refunding the money to your original payment method. If we're not able to complete the refund to that payment method, we'll refund it to your PayPal balance instead.

I rec'd the $641 US dollars. You're a man of your word. Thank you.

I'd like to suggest you have your mom watch this video so this doesn't have to happen again.

    Quoted from d0n:

Careful now! The down voting, pitchfork crew on the pinside bandwagon may just pig-pile on you next.

No we reserve that for the real assholes.

Stumblor doesn't GAF about his customers things or if they arrive intact.

I guess I missed that part.

"You're a man of your word", then you throw hate at his mom? IBTL

Can this thread be a sticky, labeled "how not to handle a vendor issue"?

    #158 1 year ago

PayPal requires you to ship it back before they refund it, so keeping it is a shit move.

    #159 1 year ago

Already labeled a d-bag by the community..save face and just ship back the product without backing over it.

It isn't that bad packing job that pisses people off, it's how you went about trying to resolve it. It's just a bad move posting about it publicly like this. Particularly since it just happened and the seller is trying to make it right.

Double dick move if you don’t ship it back.

This might be the first time ever that someone complaining about a seller in a thread has actually made me trust the seller and want to do business with him.

Seems like an upstanding guy to me.

Yea, this was a shit packing job. No way this would hold up crossing the pond.

I'm not sure why I'm getting pulled into this, but I have never begged anyone to come back to Pinside. And, in all fairness to D0n, he never used those words either. He only said "I convinced him" to come back.

But this actually did make me read back my email thread with D0n to see what was said.

To summarize, it went something like this:

    203-01-29
D0n: "please cancel my pinside subscription."

Me: "Sorry to hear that. I have canceled your subscription. "

    ...

Then I got a message how he felt about the moderators targeting him and that he missed posting on Pinside. In all honesty, it was a friendly message.

    I then sent him:

"I can assure you, none of the moderators are targeting you. I looked at your moderation stats and you were moderated by different moderators (we have a team of 9). We get thousands of posts per day and trust me when I say, your moderation stats do not really stand out. Also, it looks like most of your moderations were just simple warnings related to bickering with other members in the Haggis thread. Nothing too bad. But we do expect people to follow Pinside rules. If you do, you should be fine. We have around 25,000 active posters and 99% never get moderated. Maybe consider coming back and stay out of threads that get you riled up? "

There you have it. I was just trying to be nice.

Edit: So why am I even posting this? Well, because the above goes for everybody complaining about getting moderated. First: calm down, it's just a moderation notice. Second: In 99,9% of the cases it's not the "power hungry" mod team. It's YOU. Adjust your posting style and stay out of topics that may invoke a bad side of you. And you should be fine. Really.

As for this thread: It has run its course. Once people go and involve someone's mother into things, I would say: discussion closed.
