One of the longest games I have owned! 18 years, I think.

For about 10 years it was stored, and I only opened and shopped earlier in the year.

Gosh this game is so damn good! I wish I could use original Who music, but I am OK.
When finished, the ramps flowed like a NIB!

It hasnt lost its luster of play, and is always a joy....every game ends in a smile!

Id stick my neck out to say, if you are looking for a killer game that seems to be in the 2-3K range...
this ones a must!

Redid the lights, of course, and Ill be adding new 6.3V lighting affects to the plane in the near future....
I have some cool ideas with our new products, like Post lights shining down from the bottom of the plane
to light or flash with inserts.....

Anyway, a Few pics too...one day Ill be a better photographer! Still, id like to Play TimeBandits! Get er Done!

Quoted from shimoda:

If you had a kit for this Art I would buy it!

The whole game was done with Twin 2835 Frosted in Sunlight, GI and Back Box,
All inserts were color matched with the same.

There are two issues with Kits.

One is How do I know my taste is the same as someone else?
Second is the cost....People pay for the instructions, and the time to pick.
I am hoping most people dont need an instruction sheet that says put Red bulb under Red insert, Green under Green,
Yellow under Yellow....Thats pretty easy.

I see that Kits would run from say $190-$240, and those available are only with 1 SMD. Some kits promote the need for non ghosting.
I personally didnt need any non ghosting bulbs.

If one picks up 100 Wedge Twin 2835 Frosted for $59, and 50 44/47 same for $32.50, then the whole game could be done
even with flashers for around $100 with Free shipping,
If one counts their inserts and lifts the play field, taking about 10 minutes of notes, one could create a pretty good list, and flashers.
That would run around $115 tops.
I just have a hard time asking an extra $100 for the info and hand counting,

Yet, I respect that some want this, and there are the great people at CT and PBB, that have kits to accomplish this but in 1 SMD 5050.

Just not my first choice of bulb, but great kits anyway, for those needing LEDs that way......All good!

Finally lit the plane.

Only took me 4 years to get to.

Comet Matrix Flex head Warm with tap, 2- 10" Warm Strips, 3 way splitter, and a red post circle light.

GI is Frosted Sunlight, Backbox is mixed Warm, Sunlight, and Optix color changing LED on an angle for Backbox exploding,

I created Sunlight specifically after Warm and White didnt please me....Finally finished!

Quoted from Ive:

Nice. What’s going on with the clear plastic at the entrance to the Genius lane ??

Is yours sideways, protecting the lane and a ball jump?

I was getting more airballs, and turned this direction....Unsure of original position?

Where is yours?

Isee I moved mine in between since I finshed. Its pointing at 2 oclock to catch both....

Interesting. It's always been there, but doesn't make it right.
The 3rd pic down has a clear plastic I don't have.
I'll dig deeper. Thanks for letting me know.

Quoted from bmcclary:

LOVE the game. Looking to LED

LOVE the game. Looking to LED my Tommy. It is pretty much stock minus a few things I've done recently (Cliffys + Color DMD). Any recommendations on LEDs (quantities, types etc)? I'm a BIG FAN of Comet after using them to LED my Data East Jurassic Park.
Thanks!

In my opinion, Comet Sunlighr for GI, and color match inserts, if you want richer colors. 2 SMD. I mix whites in the backbox.

Def upgrade to Chads 5.0 code - a lot of improvements !

I had no idea this was made! Im Happy to donate, but dont know who might be burning these ROMs,
and offering the final product.

Any suggestions?

Quoted from JStoltz:

Thinking about doing a topside teardown of my Tommy to give it a good thorough clean/wax, replace all the rubbers, and finish installing the harder-to-get-to Cliffy protectors. I'd probably just do a partial teardown under normal circumstances, but I'm planning on listing it sometime in the next few months and want it to present as well as possible.
Anybody have any success/horror stories for this process on a Tommy? Any mechs or anything that are particularly challenging to remove/reattach?
Thanks!

Not really, But for appearance, you might want to use some Matrix parts to light the wing span, Nose, and Bomber Props.

Quoted from lhammer610:

Where did you get the 4 SMD spots from?

Im Only seeing Non Ghosting right now....
https://www.cometpinball.com/products/4smd-non-ghosting

I didnt see regular, but you can email.

Heres a Bulb I created That I use a few on almost every game, depending on location.

4 Straight up for light, but a ring of 4, around the base for a Low 360 degree Light.
In some games, its be my best choice in GI for getting light On the playfield level, over above.

Quoted from lhammer610:

It turns out that their 2SMD bulbs are slightly brighter than the 4SMD bulbs, because the SMDs used in the 2SMD bulbs are bigger. Always the fine print....
But they don't have the 2SMD's in non-ghosting.

2 SMD are quite a bit brighter than 4 SMD.
2 SMD non ghosting was not needed, with limited demand.

No disrespect, I made them.
