Quoted from LOTR_breath:

I have had Tommy longer than any game in my collection, since about 2006. It will never leave!

Same here... I bought my Tommy in 96-97' for $1300. It's been with me ever since. Same with my CFTBL I actually bought it a year sooner. Both in my collection.

Quoted from Ive:

I have White Superbands on my Tommy, with White rubber. I like it

Funny how I've owned Tommy for nearly 20 years and haven't noticed his white pants, until your post on the white rubbers.

A couple other differences I've noticed;

Some backbox side brackets are exactly like the B/W (approx 3" wide), while some taper down to a point, like these last 2 picts.

Mine has the glass rails that don't wrap any part of the flipper button and the B/W type backbox bracket.

Have you moved the manual, or something inside, that may have moved your tilt bob closer to the side/edge?

I own both Tommy & GnR's. Tommy's legs are the standard length (i believe 28 1/2") and GnR's are about 2" longer, all the way around. I don't have exact measurements, as I'm out of town and away from my game room.

Out of 30 pins... GnR's are the only 4 longer legs I have on my games

Quoted from dsuperbee:

Finally finished! It's late, so I will get to play and adjust tomorrow. But the game is fixed and shopped! (Will complete led work at a later date.)

Nicely done... Tommy is such a great game!

It looks a little too orange to me... however, "if" mine was badly broken or missing, I'd be very happy with it.

Quoted from Ive:

If you were to make up a bunch of those I'm pretty sure you could sell them

Yes... I'd be interested. However, maybe a steel ball exact diameter to the white plastic one, if it's noticeably larger.

At the GSPF Lodi show this past weekend... there were 3 Tommy's for sale there. As I recall from $4-4500

I like it... Very cool indeed!

That plane mod looks great.

Do you know where I can get both (lit up engines and 3-D props)?

I'll try to lookup / find "TheDudeMods"

Thanks

Quoted from lhammer610:

I am getting ready to install the new vinyl artwork for Tommy. But this is the modified artwork with The Who on it.

I would just massage the front decal around enough to evaluate the best position it should / could be in, based upon the; start button / coin door / shooter rod / left & right edges / plus top and bottom edges.

Only you'll be happy with your decision.

Re: coin door decal... I think I would;

1) drop it about 3/8" to remove ALL the covered up "Smash the mirror" above coin door. This should allow All of the "Tommy's Holiday Camp" to be seen below coin door.

2) Shift it a bit to the right to show All of "It's a Boy"

These 2 suggestions "if" there is enough decal edge to do so.

I agree it could have been designed better especially with wording that is partially hid by coin door and/or lock down bar and start / plunger areas.

Send us picts when done.

Thanks
Kerry
