One of my favorite things on Pinside is when someone posts a game I have never seen before!

I tend to blow up the playfield, check out the art, and imagine the game play.

Sometimes, I shake my head, and go WTF is That!!!

Often, its an older game, and O-din has nailed quite a few!

So heres my thought, there are thousands of games, and thousands of us, so what are the Weird, Bizarre, and Unusual
Games you can share?

Let us know if its something unusual in Game play that just qualifies as weird.

Lots of Thumbs up to vote for the games that youve never seen, and qualify as a head scratch, and a WTF is That!

Ill start with a game, that I never saw, and the Cabinet design, is what caught my eye....just weird.

Heres Motor Show.

Orbitor was that game for me. So weird and visually fooling. After one game I was done, but I think I could play it all night with some magic mushrooms.

#3 2 years ago

I love Motor show I would love to own one but I have never seen one for sale.

#4 2 years ago

Orbitor is so strange to play! It belongs in the pinball Olympics with no mods!

This is up on Ebay now, and I wonder what reviews it would get if released today?

1948 Speedway

I have very little game play on flippers like these....just seems strange...

Wasnt there a game with 12 flippers?

The first game that had flippers had six, if that's what you were thinking of:

"Sega Enterprise's" rather short run of EM pinball machines are really quite intriguing. Many have multiballs, ramps, under playfield magnets, and solid plastic slingshot kickers and pops. Weird. Leave it to the Japanese to design some wicked cool games. I'd love to play some of them sometime.

My vote is for Odin, CrazyLevi, and Rarehero.

Well, it looks like there are a few games with 12 flippers:

Nothing I've really heard of, though.

Nice search parameters!

Yes, it was the Hockey game! Thanks!

You got me here...never saw these before...Wow!

I wonder how many designers saw things here for inspiration.

Love the Kicker!

Banana Flippers?

Here's a couple of videos of some of the games. Those solid plastic bumpers work surprisingly well! The fourth video has a really good shot of the under the playfield magnet the game has, plus that interesting ramp shot.

Check out the ramp and magnet action on this one:

Man, those are wild!

The Ball lift is unique.....I dont think weve done one quite like that one.
The surfer game, is over the time.....I hope Swinks sees!

But, I enjoy the differences in expressions of excitement in Japanese culture, to ours.

I wonder if a bunch of us playing Pachinko here, would look as intriguing to them!

Thanks for sharing!!!

Heres a weird one, more rare, but the music used in the Video, makes it the earliest AC/DC!

A lot of EM's had so many different layouts with flippers and bumpers. Very different from today's layouts.

Loop, ramp, bashtoy/springy toy, ramp loop. Plus maybe another half ass scoop on right side.

Way different from what people made back in the day.

You could have a wall of EM pinball machines, and they would have more design diversity than a whole room full of modern pinball machines. EMs are a far too overlooked treasure these days.

I've been trying to be able to do that for a long time, so I finally emailed IPDB last night and asked.

Ya. I have 2 Stern's, although very different layouts, and I've been looking for an em.

Asteroid Annie seems pretty normal, except for having green hair, but she hangs out with some weird dudes.

Gordon Morrison's artwork is always fantastic. Fewer things are more captivating to look at than his artwork on Strange World.

#24 2 years ago

Dam, all this dope artwork puts some of Stern's cut and paste to shame. (Although ghost busters and Aerosmith look nice.)

#25 2 years ago

Oh dude, new games are fun and all, but the artwork and craftsmanship that went into these older games was nothing short of masterful. They never overlooked details. On Buck Rogers, the artist snuck in the name of his significant other in the golden bra. "Sue." See if you can find it:

And hitler is very obviously present in Captain Fantastic:

It's so amazing how everything tied together on playfields. So deep with definition and the attention to detail. Just beautiful.

Great pics Guys! Love those games, and Ive never seen them before!!

I am humbled by my ignorance!!

Keep em coming....were there ever any pins that paid out something other than money or tokens...?

A vendor pin?

Were there protos with new stuff that just didnt make it or work, kinda Magic Girl, but with 1 neat trick in the 50s?
