Quoted from RobT:Yep, that was my cutoff point.
And with no Premiums offered, it is even easier to live with the 600 LEs.
Agreed. No premium makes 600 more palatable.
Quoted from RobT:Pay attention. Price has gone DOWN $200.00 compared to STLE.
As well as quantity #'s. Double bonus. Stern clearly is now at least taking pinsiders collective opinion into account.
Quoted from Jvspin:Surprised at the people rationalizing an LE purchase due to the lack of a premium announcement right now. I guess Stern's marketing strategy works. Kudo's to their marketing team.
Please. I think you selected the wrong person to quote to try and belittle someone on. I had a preorder in 5 minutes after the DVD flier was leaked. I don't need to talk myself into anything. I can afford it either way and was buying it even if 1,000 LE's were announced. TWD was my dream theme. 600 plus potentially no premium is just gravy.
What was the average pricing on stle? Just curious on pricing now that twdle pricing starts being given out.
Quoted from ezeltmann:Anyone else disappointed that the crossbow looks absolutely nothing like a crossbow.
Is it time to start mentioning Borg in the same sentence as Ritchie and Lawlor for great playfield designs? This one is awesome.
ez
I want to believe that there will be a plastic cross bow on top but who knows.
Looking back at the games I have enjoyed the most, Borg is represented well. He is in my top three designers for sure!
Quoted from Jvspin:Ouch! Apologies, didn't mean to belittle you or anyone else. Just think there is little to no chance of there not being a premium based on the theme, how good the machine looks and how well it is being received. I think they will really have to mess up in other areas for TWD not to be a hit. And, if they mess up that bad, will the existence of a premium really matter?
Fair enough. I appreciate the reply.
Quoted from Aurich:I'll start a new post so it's not just buried on page 20, but I got my article up here:
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2014/09/got-bit-fever-hit-the-walking-dead-pinball-shambles-into-game-rooms/
Some really big high rez images in that gallery of the Pro and LE playfields and cabs. Just click to enlarge them in a new window, I uploaded them pretty big, you can see a ton of detail.
Thanks man. Damn sweet. I am so excited for this. Add to that, it will be in my hands and a couple months. Damn, damn, damn!!!
Quoted from PW79:They prolly aren't doing a premium because they only have so many leftovers from Austin Powers?
Just a thought
A very good one at that.
Quoted from CraZ4Pin:Either you absolutely love the game and the look and don't care if you lose a couple thousand when you go to resell it.
A couple thousand? LOL. So now depreciation is "a couple thousand"? It seemed like just a few days ago the group think settled in on around 10% depreciation. I sure wish there was a vote to determine once and for all how much I'm supposed to lose on reselling a formally nib machine.
Pinside seems to be full people who believe if they keep saying something frequently enough, they can will it to be.
Quoted from rai:Unless I'm wrong it seems if this is like IM than the ramps donn't cross in the back they do enter the back wall but just curve more towards the side they are on to return the ball. It's just like IM where the left ramp returns to the left side and the right ramp returns to the right side same as AcDc.
That is incorrect. Read the features matrix. They go out of their way to spell out that the ramp entrances are on opposite sides of their respective exits/returns.
Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:If you think your going to lose a max of $700 on your new LE you're dreaming. Unless you sell in 6 months, which some surely do. XMEN and Avengers are in 20-25% territory! ST is over 10% and that's after the mother of all code drops. Metallica might be immune for awhile or forever because it's a good game with a niche fan base, but I'll bet those are selling for under $6k in time too. Time will tell.
And Pinside "group think" sounds like "military intelligence". Lol.
Convenient that you selected two dogs. Why not acdc and tron? Why, because that doesn't prove your rebuttal.
Quoted from Roostking:If you are worried about depreciation on a toy, you should not be buying toys.. These are not investments, contrary to what some people believe..
Please do me a favor and pm me whenever you sell a game. Since you expect to take a loss, it will most definitely be a great deal. Seeing we are now venturing into 25% depreciation (lol), Im going to load up on cheap games.
Some of you guys are a trip. What happens when everyone figures out your secret and no one buys nib. How are you going to cheapskate your way into fresh titles then?
Quoted from Roostking:Never said I was going to sell a game cheap, but I dont expect to make money on a game that is a couple of years old, unless its a Classic.. So my MetLE can be yours for $11,000
I agree with that statement but that's not what you said the first time but I digress.
Quoted from BC_Gambit:People speculating that these supposed LE's are somehow going to hold or rise in value
That's not what I said. My response was based on being told to expect first **a grand or two (which on $7,800 is roughly 12.83-25.64%) out of the gate** and then depreciation of 25%. I wish the irs would let me depreciate the way some people think things do.
I'm not going to get muddled down in a have, have not debate. People always want to argue emotionally. Time will tell. If the game and code is solid, twdle will not go down in value 25%. Period.
Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:I'm the one being selective? You are ignoring every game for the last 3 years! Notice the price of ACDC premiums and pros? They are down significantly even from earlier this year. Heavily modded one are going for $1k less than the shipped price. 15% easy, and getting lower.
TRON LE is an outlier. And so is BIB because they made so few. TFLE also WAY down. What about Mustang? So I guess I picked FIVE dogs? Because ST is approaching dog territory. I guess Stern should go out of business for making all these dogs? Tron Pro without mods is probably a $4k game. It has legs, that's for sure, but it's the only Pro that does.
The only thing potentially sparing TWD from the same fate as the others is Lyman...but let's see where METLE is next year. MetLE actually seemed to sell above MSRP during the initial hype...now they seem to sit around at $7k, modded. How many $7k plus MSRP games have been released in the last 2 years and are on the way? A lot. And the max depreciation is 10%? Right.
LoL. I wish I cared enough about your opinion to huff and puff a diatribe like that. I wasn't being selective, you went to one extreme, I to the other. You're wrong, the one thing saving twdle besides Lyman is only 600 and no premium. That's what has the natives restless. I'm waiting for a 1%'er argument next.
