Star Trek - MSRP $5,395
Walking Dead - MSRP $5,995
(both current prices right from Stern's site)
Screw you guys, I'm goin home. $600 MSRP increase. I realize it is the MSRP, but what is that, like a $400 - $500 increase delivered?
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Big jump, for sure. Perhaps the new model moving forward is a higher-priced, less stripped Pro and no Premium.
It is sure starting to look like that. One thing I liked about Stern was the 4k-ish price point they were able to maintain. I've firmly felt that if they tried to cross the 5k barrier for delivered Pro games it would backlash. So now I get to see if I'm right or not.
Quoted from Squeakman:I almost can't even afford to be in the hobby anymore
Horse crap and hyperbole. My last game was $300 and the game is a freaking blast. You can afford to be in this hobby, just not buying the ridiculously overpriced machines. I'm still stunned at $5995 MSRP for the Pro.
Quoted from RobT:Those who said that a barn would be on the PF were right.
I thought that was Terminus.
Quoted from pmWolf:It's not like the prices went up thousands of dollars.
They went up hundreds.
Most people that can afford to blow $5000 on a pin can usually find a way to come up with a few hundred more...if they dig the theme.
Pete, while I agree that they are only going up hundreds, they are doing that on almost every title. At some point that reaches a tipping point, and I think they are there now. I don't mind blowing 5k on a pinball machine. I've spent a lot more than that on one without issue. But I think they are reaching too high now. And yes, I am chapped about it.
Quoted from RobT:Pay attention. Price has gone DOWN $200.00 compared to STLE.
I AM paying attention Rob. I usually like the Pro games better because I usually don't think the little extra they squeeze into the LE is worth the huge costs. The only game I feel was worth the extra to go to the Premium is AC/DC. So lets look at the current Pro pricing listed on Stern's site:
AC/DC - MSRP $5,699
Metallica - MSRP $5,395
Star Trek - MSRP $5,395
Mustang - MSRP $5,395
Iron Man VE - MSRP $5,495
The Walking Dead - MSRP $5,995
That right there is $300 more than anything else they are selling. I realize that these are all just MSRP. However I also realize that as MSRP goes up, so do the costs that I pay to get a game into my house.
Quoted from Jackontherocks:I think I saw someone mention only 4 ball game multi ball, not sure and not reading every post. But I know I am on the side of the few that like 5 or six multi ball versions with also option or mode of 3 multi ball in each game. Just throwing it out there for what's it worth.
I am on the side of 4 ball games. Sure, 5 or 6 sounds good, but in practice it just makes a mess of play. On games with more I end up dumping some out right at the start because I can't come close to hitting a shot with that many balls on the table. Everything is blocked by another ball in the way.
Quoted from swampfire:Herschel is really the Gandalf of the bunch, and to omit his speech from the game would be criminal.
Well lock them up, because they will not be in there. None of them will.
