Glad we finally got our own thread. We seem to dominate the Northeast for sale thread already. Maybe that means like me we get bored with pins quickly and sell them….

Jersey is wierd, people are very different based on north jersey(taylor ham, NY sports teams, Subs) or South Jersey(pork roll, philly sports teams, hoagies) or central jersey which many say doesnt exist but I say it does as I grew up there. And then theres the shore which can technically be all of those but is kind of its own thing. Ill live here forever im sure, my 16k of property taxes every year does kind of suck though.

    Quoted from VALIS666:

Spent my first 37 years in NJ before moving up to various places in New England in 2009. Was born and raised about a half mile down the street from Springsteen (though I'm not sure he was still living there in 1972 when I was born), and besides Freehold have lived all over -- Hoboken, Jersey City, Old Bridge, Lavallette, New Brunswick. I miss the shore and miss Princeton/Cranbury area, but there's a million Princeton/Cranbury-like towns up here. There's not much like the Jersey Shore, though, for better and worse. Every time Fast Eddie comes over to pick up or drop off some pins, we bullshit NJ for an hour. He and my mother have some friends in common from their Newark days.
Anyway, to put a point on this random ass story, I've been trying to remember some of the names of those legendary '70s and '80s arcades on the Seaside and Point Pleasant boardwalks, and even though I've spent hundreds and hundreds of hours in them, I can't remember too many names. Lucky Leo's, of course. I think there was a good one called The Aztec that had multiple floors? Coin Castle rings a bell, and I want to say that also had 2 or 3 floors. And Jenkinson's of course in Point Pleasant spans a century, but there were other arcades there before they owned nearly the whole Point Pleasant boardwalk. Barnacle Bill's in Lavallette was a favorite, though not on the boardwalk. Those arcades were amazing in the '80s not just from the vast amount of pins and video games you could play in a couple square miles, but some of the less popular arcades had sections in the back that looked untouched since the '60s with pitch and bats and wedgeheads and woodrails and shuffle bowlers. Amazing shit.

Im originally from Manalapan so not far from where you lived. I spent a lot of time at Point and Seaside as well. Jenkinsons is the main arcade at point pleasant. Is that what you were thinking of? Jenks is the bar. Seaside I dont really remember which one. I live more South Jersey now and Ocean City is my beach now, LOVE it there. And jillys arcade is awesome!

    Quoted from Ranhorton:

Man I miss silverball museum on the boardwalk.
Thankfully Helicon is only 25 min away out here but nothing beats the diversity of old games at silverball.

I was there the other day and was dissapointed in the state of the newer machines. The only JJP they had that was working properly was Dialed in and they have all of them. The GnR playfield there is utterly destroyed which isnt their fault of course. And the game wasnt working right at all, the locks on the guitar power chord werent unlocking so balls would get stuck and the machine kept giving out 2-3 balls for 1 ball and then ending the ball because 1 drained. Maybe they are just magnetized.

In the end I still love the silverball museum to death, I just wish the JJP machines there were in better shape. They always get JJP games early and feel bad the playfield qualities havent been great. Also would love to see some newer sterns there.

    Quoted from Goyomex:

Hey NJ Neighbors. Any recommendation on where to pick up anti-reflective glass? I've got a couple NIB pins in desperate need of this upgrade and I'm not sure on where to find it.
    Thanks in Advance!

I just order from cointaker. They usually have a deal when buying 2
