So, I’m playing Willy Wonka in the basement and notice the sounds coming from window well in the basement were odd - like water dropping into a bucket. Didn’t pay much attention until I Finished playing and realized the exterior water levels were near the top of my basement window.
The window was holding the water out but it was slowly seeping through the seal. Yep, the basement floor was taking on water. Moved the pins to a safe place, grabbed my wife, a bucket and a pump and headed outside to drain the exterior window wells. Spent the last hour plus in the rain, dodging lightning and clearing the wells of water. Rain gauge showed 5” in about 90 mins.
All is well, but tried to use the opportunity to reinforce how, without my pinball addiction, we would have never caught the issue and the basement would be flooded. Sadly, she didn’t buy it.
