    Quoted from grantopia:

This is has been debunked about a billion times, it is in no way a HIPAA violation to ask, and they absolutely can ask.
    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/5165952001

We can agree to disagree. Anyone can ask if you are vaccinated or not. They cannot demand you show your card.
Nevada casino Legal Departments have informed employees that the casino can be subject to action if an employee, while representing the business asks to see the vac card. They specifically cite HIPAA.
I'll trust someone with a JD over a newspaper article.
I may have missed it, but I did not see any mention of asking to show a vac card in that article.

Tim has good Legal counsel anyway so Let's let it go. Next PHoF visit I make, I'll show my card if asked. No use being shown the door and not be allowed to play the Bally Galahad there.

Whoops! Linked to wrong comment. How do I erase this post?

    #303 2 years ago
    Quoted from prl867:

Although I do not doubt the voracity of your post, I can say with full certainty that the request to view the vaccine card is the option of the proprietor,

Can you comment on if the PHOF will accept a photo of a vaccination card? I will be there vacationing starting May 28, and would like to leave my vaccination card at home. I have a photo of it on my phone. Is that enough for entry to the PHOF, and not have to wear a mask while I'm there? Thanks!

It took me 5 seconds on Google to see that this isn't true:

"The Nevada Gaming Control Board, which sets the rules for casinos, reacted quickly to update its rules. It will neither require nor prohibit casinos from asking for proof of vaccination. It also said casinos can set rules on masks that are more restrictive than the CDC's guidelines."

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/05/14/wynn-says-vaccinated-people-can-ditch-masks-in-nevada-casinos.html

I assume most larger places like casinos wouldn't require a card because you'll lose the "my freedom!" crowd, but I'm fully vaccinated anyway so it's not really my concern anymore if people choose not to as they are only really endangering themselves at this point. I'm looking forward to checking it out this fall when we get out to Vegas.

There when Vegas is mask free,Vaccine is NOYB,Had a great time at Tim's PHOF a couple yrs. ago.

    As of today.

Still mask required. Must cover nose holes at all times.

NO mask required if you show Vac card that matches id. We will accept phone picture with your name on card. We will give you a sticker for your shirt, you can play with no mask. This might change soon. We do what the Governor says.

    #307 2 years ago

Love the sticker idea... Bringing my card and pinball skills next week!

Bally’s Bazaar needs to be added to the list.

When I was there yesterday, I noticed the white border lighting was illuminated. I had to leave around 6pm, so it was barely noticeable in this picture.

    Quoted from prl867:

I’m there right now. Peak Saturday night. Parking lot is packed but still lots of spaces (free parking).
Got 100% confirmation from Tim that so long as you have your Vaccine card with photo ID confirming you’re completely vaccinated, no mask is required. For everyone else, mask up.

Hmm, I live in Northern NV and NO businesses that you can go mask-less in are requiring a vaccination card and ID including casinos. I have my vaccination card but the ONLY places I've heard of this is in Oregon and now PHOF. This is his business, but between the shitty treatment of customers and "holier than thou" attitude I will pass. I know, my loss but you have to draw the line someplace. I guess my other loss is the $150 I donated to the dh.

My first pin! Bought it from Pismo Arcade in '79.

I got here a bit ago. Their new illuminated sign (lined in LED Neon, I believe) just was installed yesterday. Super bright!

About 80 people today at the PHoF around 3pm.

Love all the oddball em stuff. How ‘bout this photo? OXO as a 2-player game. According to Tim’s hand-written note on the machine, it was a prototype that was not produced, and a Williams employee got to take it home.

JJP’s Wizard of Oz is finally back on and works great (except for overly worn play field).

The ball gets stuck a lot on this game and is down for service fairly often.

Hobbit doesn’t seem to have said issues.

    #322 2 years ago

I thought this was funny - description of what you get is pretty much spot on. Also, the coin slide on this machine takes 16 quarters at once!

This game looked spectacular. Turns out it was a Rick’s Restorations project with the PHoF. Gameplay is actually pretty fun! (for about 5 minutes, then that’s about enough for today)

Interesting thread. I visited the PHoF in 2011 and enjoyed the experience having just gotten into collecting Pins and had three at that time. I'm now down to two and ramping back up to 4-5.

I plan to return to Vegas when COVID is over and all the drama is gone. PHoF will be on my must see list even if it's a solo trip (wife not interested in pinball) to drop a few sawbucks.

I remember that episode when they restored it.

I seem to recall Tim being on that show more than once.

I liked the show when it was based on Rick's Restorations. All of a sudden, they dropped Rick and went to a multi-team restoration format then the show died soon after.

Those were so cool to play at Cedar Point when they had them. I think all were pulled when Alpha-Bet (Frank Seninsky's company) got the operating & service contract 15 or so years ago.

That show used to be so good! THEN came Leonard. Remember him? He pretty much Kevorkian'ed that show.

A little over 100 people in the building at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Wow, pretty amazing for a Wednesday - just wait until this place gets popular!

About 115 machines turned off. Many more machines on and playable, looks like they’re doing a great job ramping up.

My favorite this trip: United Deluxe 5th Inning shuffle game. You get 3 shots with the puck per inning, and scoring a run increases in value each inning. Plus, love that the puck return is a player-operated conveyor belt, inside the game.

Love the Star Jet. Pretty intricate mechanics for an em game. The ball count stepper knows not to advance when plunging a new ball due to the previous ball being caught and held in the top kick-out hole. And then the balls get released for multi-ball play - maybe one ball, maybe both - and again, when the now-released balls drain, the ball count stepper knows not to advance. Pretty good game logic, whoever set up the circuits.

I know many collectors like this game for the artwork package, which I agree is wonderful, but I'm sold on the gameplay. It's fun to have multi-ball on an em, especially when the player has the option to release one ball at time, or both, depending on which target is hit.

I guess Tim & crew were tired of answering questions about what to do when the ball is trapped in one of the top two kick-outs, so hand-written instructions (in a star-burst cut-out) were placed on the playfield glass next to the trap holes.

Some of the women on the backglass also look identical. Are they meant to be clones, or was it 5pm Friday and the artist wanted to finish before they went home for the weekend? To me, all the red heads look like the other red heads, and the blondes look alike. Yet only 1 blonde dude and 1 red head dude. Hmmmmmm.

Perfect integration of the multi-ball theme.

In the future, all the women will be clones. Or maybe robots. Or androids. Not sure exactly which, but something along those lines.

Sad when Rick’s Restorations closed their doors and the whole boneyard and exterior was scrapped.

At least Kount’s Kustom’s is still around.

Hey I’m headed to Vegas this week and was wondering what the current mask policy is at the PHOF. I’m vaxxed, do I need to bring my card to show the crew to avoid wearing a mask while playing there? Thanks!

Bring your card or a picture of your card to the front counter and they will give you a sticker.

At the rates the Saudi's are kidnapping them and throwing them in the ocean on cargo ships after they are used, you may be on to something.

Well dang skippy I can’t wait to be there and drop quarters. I have a feeling it might be March madness next year, but that is two great things to look forward to.

At the risk of being labeled a little odd by the pinball community (ha! - wouldn't that be ironic?), I'll admit I don't know why I like this game as much as I do. I used to own a really nice example of it, and it's one of the few I regret selling. I appreciate that the PHoF keeps this one in great shape - all the pool balls light up, flippers work, scores correctly, etc. It's like a mystery to figure out where to shoot to un-light that last pool ball, and then guess where the pinball is going to appear from when it comes out down by the flippers.
