Daaamn, shots fired! Ouch. I love Star Light, but I get where you're coming from.

Yep, evolve or die. Similar sorta happened around 2010.. Stern's chugging out old tired SAM games, then JJP forced evolution into LCD-based games. Now look at all these new pinball fans out there with nothing but LCD games. Gotta keep evolving to keep interest... Stern with Insider is doing a good job there.
I remember when Williams thought that video games were cool too. so they took video and pinball, combined them, and created pinball2000. i actually thought it was a great idea. most (all?) pinball people hated it. add 10 years. and you have Jersey Jack putting a video monitor in a pinball. i was not a fan, thinking that the Williams pin2000 idea was much better than just adding a color TV as a score display. Heck Zaccaria (Mr.Game) did that in the late 1980s. But hey here we are...

You are not the only one. I wish WMS gave Pin2K more time.
Quoted from Only_Pinball:I wish WMS gave Pin2K more time.
It did better than they hoped. And wasn't tied to one playfield level either. Wizard Blocks and Playboy would have been great. When they came out a lot of pinball people weren't crazy about them. But the non pinball people shoved a lot of money in them.
The head of Williams Midway told me that later that division would make one or two a year. But that never came to be. And limited like that the P2K platform wouldn't have evolved like the Williams DMD era did.

Well, that's not something I was expecting to see today...are rubber chickens and cans of slime big sellers?
Quoted from prl867:Shockingly, yes. Mainly just to children and pedos, and occasionally some moms.
Pedos huh? LMAO

What's with the word "Army" being pasted over with "Arcade" on the Stern Army banner?

Just need Son of Svengoolie out for a day singing autographs and chickens....

WTF?
I played pinball at university for my friend's doctoral recital. Had a jacket on and my Warwick bass on a strap. The pinball was mic'd and everything and made a hellacious clanging during the 15 minute or so piece. About halfway in I tilted and screamed an obscenity and then took my place in front of the audience while "reading" (pantomiming as the drummer did the voice), and I grabbed a rubber chicken from the green room as my mic. I thrashed and wailed recalling tales of my dirtbaggery (Diary of a Dirtbag is the title), and as I finished and wailed in anguish I just tossed the chicken behind me without even looking where it went. Fun night! Still waiting on 4k Video, but here's is after the recital:

I don't remember doing any drugs this morning but after reading this I'm rethinking that reality?

The poppies are in bloom, are you sure you didn’t have any opium today by accident?
Quoted from Luckydogg420:One question. Can you see the sphere from the PHOF? Because I’m pretty sure it can see you…. But seriously, can you advertise on the sphere? Big ball…pinball, there’s gotta be something there[quoted image]
Maybe some of it on the horizon; it's at the other end of the Strip.
That thing is a trip, even if it's actually a "spherical cap" or "spherical dome," not a sphere, technically.
But what about Porange perched on the sign?

Quoted from metallik:Video games helped pinball, by forcing it to evolve and become better and more interesting to play. I think pinball improved much more between '84 and '90 than it did between '78 and '84. Video games put an end to low-effort pins like Starlight and The Games. Feel free to embrace your hate, but I'll always enjoy both pins and vids
I’m right there with you. 3 pins one vid is my perfect ratio.
Pins and vids together is the way I like to roll.

Nothing touched since March 24th, 2023.....
A discouraging article.
Multiple liens filed. Issues hoped to be resolved in a matter of weeks back in March are now at six months, and counting.
After quite a long medical LOA, I’m very much looking forward to working a shift today at the old PHoF.
If anyone has any specific questions or anything, feel free to post. I’ll post some pics and general update stuff in a bit.

Welcome back.
Two of the 007 Pro Versions are available for sale on the floor. Also, a revenge from mars and a Charlie’s angels. Inquire for pricing on those.
I’m volunteering today. We opened a bit early, like 940, as we had a few guests at the doors.
Some have asked me about Pinball Circus. Unfortunately, at this time Pinball Circus is down. I will post here as soon as it comes back to life. It is definitely repairable, but it is a VERY time intensive process to repair (no existing schematics either).
Rest assured though, I will post as soon as it’s back. Thanks!
Quoted from prl867:(no existing schematics either)
We ran into that when we shopped it after my party Spring 2006. Four of us spent 8 hours on it to get everything up to speed.
If it powers up, you can step through each switch, lamp, coil, and flasher, to get wire colors and connector and fuse and transistor information.
Stop on item, hit the start button, then keep pressing the "+" diagnostic button which steps you through all the information for that item.

On the secret flight out to Area 51, eh?
Pretty shocking when you watch that video and look not just at the games he’s filming turned off, but all the off games in the background. Virtually every shot in the video shows games turned off. If not the game he’s looking at then the game next to it.
It’s true that he didn’t film the working centre aisle of modern stern games, but I bet if you counted every game shown in that video (by a non pinhead) I bet there’s more off than on.
For anyone looking to go and actually PLAY the games , this was not a good advertisement. If you just want to LOOK at rare classic games then this might be the place for you, but then you gotta wonder why the off games aren’t grouped together in a museum section.
Maybe I’m just cynical
