I’m ordering a Bronco this week, MSRP, with everything I want, yeah I have to wait 6 months to a year, but I don’t suffer from FOMO like a typical pinsider. Ford is offering me $1200 less than I paid for my 5.0 in Nov 16. I rejected the offer. Life is good.

    Quoted from Strummy:

    Full size Bronco?

Yeah, not the sport. Badlands with the Sasquatch package.

The current new car market is a lot like the current pin market, buy NIB and wait or pay more to get one now.

You’re going to bring a Silverado to the Czech Republic as a daily driver?

    Merica!!!!

    Quoted from Manimal:

1 year is minimum unless you went with the soft top and shed some options. I've been waiting on my 2-door hard top for well over a year now, with no build date in site. Thank god they are locking in the 2020 order pricing....some guys are paying 10K over MSRP just for a stripped model.

I just read the hardtop delay is over, it’s now a few of the options like tow package, paint protector film and 1 other, I can’t recall, is holding up some orders. I’m in no hurry.

Is everyone just sort of accepting get gouged right now? What is an acceptable price on a new Honda or Toyota? My daughter is about to graduate college and unfortunately, it's time for something new.

Ordering a new vehicle is probably the best bet, most vehicles you can get at or below MSRP this way. Used market is insane right now.

    Quoted from PinMonk:

New market is insane, too. Ordering will not allow even MSRP on popular cars.

I ordered a Bronco, which is one of the most popular new cars out there for $1k under MSRP 2 months ago. I probably won’t get it until early 2023 tho. Most other vehicles I looked at were at or under MSRP with a wait time of 2-3 months.

    Quoted from mcluvin:

I can't even order a Maverick Hybrid until August. Trying to find an XLT Hybrid with the Luxury package and not get gouged. I found one about 100 miles away and I've searched a large portion of the US using the 500 mile radius hack.

They closed the orders for both the Maverick and Bronco in the beginning of March, more orders then they can build this year.

    Quoted from Strummy:

I stopped at a Ford dealership near me the other day and they had a Mach 1 priced 10k above sticker

That’s actually better than the the one at my dealer, 15k. Broncos were 15-25k.

    Quoted from Electrocute:

Something a potential customer always remembers after driving out.

Nah, it’s a free market. Dealerships are pretty barren currently. You aren’t finding a Bronco or Maverick at MSRP anywhere in the country on a lot right now.

    #163 2 years ago
    Quoted from loneacer:

I did a quick search on cars.com for Bronco and came up with at least a dozen in a 500 mile radius listed at MSRP. Most are 2021s, but a few 2022s.

They’re not, those are customer orders, the dealerships put those on their websites to make it look like more inventory, I spent a week scouring the country, every one listed at MSRP are either already sold or they tell you when call there’s a markup. I’m not talking the baby Bronco(sport), the full size.

    #164 2 years ago
    Quoted from mcluvin:

Try to buy one. I can find Mavericks at MSRP too until I call.

    Exactly

You can turn off the auto start/stop on Fords through the menu on display, or if you order your vehicle new you can have it removed. I’m sure there’s other brands that are the same. If not, you can certainly take it a tuner and have it disabled.
As far as “that’s terrible for the starter” crowd, it’s a completely different starter than a traditional one, they’re engineered to be constantly starting and stopping.

    #192 2 years ago

Quick google search shows pretty much every brand has a disable button somewhere. Most not permanently but you just have to hit a button to disable. Like I said before a tuner could do it cheap permanently.

    Honda

They aren’t shipping until fall of 23, and that’s the work trim only. Be prepared for a long wait. Get on the list ASAP.

I ended up finding an “OK” deal on a 2020 Ford Edge ST. I got it $10k less than a new one with 15,000 miles. The 2020 had every available option while the 2022 was light on options due to chip constraints. There was no negotiating on price but trade in value on my car was way more than anticipated 2 years ago. It was Ford Gold CPO so I actually have a better warranty than the new one. It makes no sense to buy new off the lot right now. Either order a new one and wait or buy a year or two old, IMHO.

    Quoted from Only_Pinball:

No question. In my area a new Escalade is now $45,008 over sticker! Totally insane. We are going to just order and wait. At this point it will be about the same wait as a pinball machine, maybe a few months more.

Yeah, I got this to hold me over until the Bronco I ordered is built, 18 month average

Everything is done by phone with newer vehicles, I’m not even sure where my fob is, maybe under my seat somewhere.

    #313 1 year ago
    Quoted from mcluvin:

2023 Ford Maverick order window was supposed to open 8/2. It has just been delayed to 9/15. Just a total clusterfu**...

It’ll be a wait on anything new that’s in demand
