Looks like it's going to be another fun filled weekend, my son and I are looking forward to coming down again!

Any idea what time we can walk over on Friday morning to buy our tickets? We're staying at the Marriott across the street and just wondering what time we might be able to head on over to purchase our weekend passes.

    #7 8 years ago

Doors open at noon, registration is usually selling tickets around 11am. The Kid's Zone will be set up in the lobby by registration, so there will be games to play and things to do before the show officially opens.

We now have official confirmation that the Magic Girl pinball prototype machine was finished in assembly and testing this week and is on it's way to Tacoma for the show. This has been one of the most anticipated new pins in recent years and mired in delays and controversy, it will be exciting to see it's world debut in person at the NW Pinball & Arcade Show!

OK, OK you've talked me into it. I'm changing my flight home to the Friday red-eye so I can get 6 or so hours of play time in before I leave.

    Looking forward to it.

The first 4 semis of games have been unloaded at the Tacoma Convention Center already and the trucks are out for their second run of game pick ups!

Also, check this out, the LeMay Car Museum is loaning us the car from The Flinstones Movie for the 2015 NW Pinball & Arcade Show this weekend. Here they are unloading it and our own Patty Okert taking a spin in it! Turns out you don't need to power it with your feet. The car will be staged next to a Flinstones pinball machine in the main show hall this weekend! They also are loaning us a Corvette, which will be staged by a Stern Corvette pin.

I wish I could be there

    #16 8 years ago

I saw the KISS there yesterday during setup. KISS had a lot of people playing it. Also saw the Whoa Nellie too and got to play it.

There is definitely tons of machines there this year. Much more than previous years. Pinball Bulbs has a huge booth and they brought about a dozen pimped out pinball machines this year.

Ha ha ha, nope! Kinda the whole point of doing the raffles is so someone at the show can win them. Everyone gathers around and gets all excited when the ticket is drawn and there is one really happy attendee when the number is read. Plus, that would be more competition for me! The Black Knight 2000 would look awesome next to my Black Knight.

    #26 8 years ago

When is the Magic Girl reveal scheduled to happen and will it be streamed for those unable to attend?

Looks like you have a great lineup of games. Enjoy the show!

Hey, you cant win a prize at your own show! Thats a conflict of interest! I need a BK2K badly. lol. Someone hold an iPad up with my face on it via SKYPE so I can " be there" when the prize is drawn... lol.

I cant buy a plane ticket for a raffle, lol.

Not yet, today isn't over And lots of people are just rolling in now after work and dinner. It feels to me like we have a fair amount more people than last year on Friday. I'm expecting tomorrow to be packed and non stop fun!

    Oops..

I forgot about this thread and posted this in the NWPAS FS thread instead of here. So I will repost here. Sorry for the cross/double posting:

    Etiquette question:

So let's say I wanted to bring a translight for someone to sign after their seminar. What is the proper etiquette for that? I've never been much of an autograph hound so I really don't know. Do I bring my own sharpie? Is there some type of "donation" required? Etc..

    Thanks,
    Michael

Been here since noon today and having a blast. Once again it's a top notch show and organized very well.

So far for me the machine of the show is BOP with the 2.0. Played that machine a ton growing up and it's a totally different game with the software and display kit (and Markmom has it done up very nicely with LEDs - the machine looks like it just came out!). It's awesome!

Great show! I'm heading to the airport now and very glad I stayed in Seattle an extra day for this.

Got several games of Kiss and Hobbit in. I really liked them both.

Picked up a shirt to wear at the SFGE show in Atlanta in a couple of weeks.

    #37 8 years ago

Just got home from the show. What a blast. Found a few more machines to add to my collection in the future. Some of you may think I'm crazy, but I really had fun playing Capcom's Flipper Football. I also decided I need to pick up a good pitch and bat sometime soon.

The artists and designers are very willing to autograph back glasses. Generally they have special pens to do it. I've gotten autographs at the show from both Steve Richie and Greg Freres and both were more than happy to do it. If the person you are after is giving a seminar, take it then and present it at the end of the segment. No donations required or expected.

Great first day at the show. Heading back today. Hat's off to the Tech crews at the show. Very knowledgeable guys and they keep those pins up. PinballBulbs booth is awesome! Got to pay the 2.0 BOP.. Very cool!

    #44 8 years ago

Due to my own stupidity I was only able to make it yesterday, but this is the best NWPAS so far. Plenty of vendors, great selection of games, happy pinheads, what's not to like? Not to mention kiss, hobbit etc.

    thank you organizers and volunteers!

I haven't played The Hobbit yet, but I'm really liking KISS, Bride of Pinbot 2.0, and the Journey and Tattoo Mystique pins.
