I heard there were going to be nine pink panthers lined up next year!

when are we breaking ground on the dog park?
Ha! When I saw this at the top I knew it was you reviving this thread!
I am going to make you one of those tear away calendars for next year so you can count down to the next PAGG. Its just going to start from the day after so you can tear a page off every day until the next one.
Quoted from genex:TX sector is about to be on location I hear in the East Bay.
What! where?!?
Quoted from genex:Crap it was Genesis
Ah what! that was like the biggest let down ever
Where on earth are the putting a Genesis on location?
Quoted from Flamethrower:It's going to be at Scarlet City Espresso Bar in Emeryville.
Awesome, that's very cool. My initial reaction was only disappointment when I was told it was not TX-Sector, and my surprise that someone would take a chance on that title on location. Should have figured it was TJ. I am a huge advocate for B-list and other oddball titles on location. Plan to head over there soon and play it.
Quoted from mrgone:Bugs Bunny birthday ball, Road Kings, Bad Cats and Game Show.
I have never played BBBB or Game Show as well.
Miguel said-Does anybody know if they've got any shirts leftover from this year's show? I'm really kicking myself for not picking up one of the black shirts.
-
Are you taking about the Spirit one?
Quoted from Miguel351:No, just the regular PAGG shirt, in black.
I'll try the website contact page first. There's got to be a couple leftover....
am going to ask a couple of guys in the area that I dont think frequent this board for you. Just one? and what size?
Quoted from mrgone:Hey Steve, any chance of getting a gathering going in oct?
Maybe at ppm or playland.
You may be right, might be the time. Wonder if PPM has any plans to get TWD?
Quoted from PismoArcade:On a side note, I was going through some stuff and I came across my 2012 PPE poster and sighed. How I miss staying at the Embassy Suites and walking over the bridge to hundreds of pinball machines. I really wish they would bring it back.
I feel you on this one, I really loved that show. If I had any clue on how to put on a huge event like that I would. We need one to fill that long multi month void.
Quoted from Flamethrower:I don't think so, but the The Walking Dead will be coming to Hi-Life in Oakland, not too far from PPM. When it arrives, the Wizard of Oz currently at Hi-Life will move to the museum, I expect to the paid area in the front.
Fine as well! As long as someone gets it!
Quoted from nvu4prod:Hi Steve, I'll be getting TWD... It all depends on a when and if Stern decides to produce a Premium. If so, your welcome anytime!
I will take you up on that! Been meaning to come down and say hi for ages!
Quoted from Miguel351:Well, got an email back from the person in charge of answering. He said that all the shirts are put away in storage and will be available at next year's PAGG.
So, Steve, can we try your way now?
Unfortunately the guys I contacted said the same thing. Sorry Miguel!
Quoted from nvu4prod:Anytime, doors always open! FYI, my last acquisition was a Capcom Breakshot last May. Simple table with a ton of fun. Great price too!! Cleaned up nicely!
Nice! hopefully I can make it down soon. Do you ever have weekdays off? my schedule changed and I am done at 1:30 every day.
Quoted from mrgone:169 days until pagg!
Happy thanksgiving!
Don't eat too much turkey, you turkey!
Quoted from blownfuse:I always manage to get something together for PAGG every year for people to play.
Steve
Yeah you do!
Quoted from mof:PAGG is nearing quickly.
I'd like to call the 2015 PAGG Convention to order starting now, *knock* *knock*
Let's get down to business.
I'm considering bringing games for the first time, I wonder if others are in the same boat.
1. Who has brought a game to PAGG?
2. What are your experiences? (with how a few hundred plays treats your game)?
3. What are good ideas in terms of "bullet-proofing"?
If you are considering bringing games for the first time -- what questions/considerations do you have?
-mof
I dont bring games, I just but them there, ask pinwillie!
Whos gonna sell me a Rollergames at this years PAGG??
Quoted from gaspumprob:Cool I can't wait to see both of them done! You do such nice work!
Yes I will have to bring a suprise or two! Still looking forward to getting my MMRLE in black!
One of you two should clue me into any surprises
Ugh. Found out my sons preschools annual fundraiser is the same Saturday night as PAGG! My wife works there as well, so I cannot get out of it
Guess volunteering thursday and being there all day Friday and Sunday will have to be good enough this year.
Quoted from mrgone:Tell them to move it to the next week end.
Oh believe me, I tried. But the argument of me missing a day of pinbsll is lost on the 200 other people that don't care! I will still be there as much as possible.
Quoted from gaspumprob:You lucked out!!!!! See you there Steve! Are you doing badges this year again? If you are I would love to have one. I missed out on last years and this past arcade expo also.
Rob
I will! When It gets closer I will ask people to "reserve" them again if they know they are coming, remind me then.
Quoted from Ronnie1114:Hmmm hopefully Ill make it. My Cyclopes wants to come and it will if I can make it there. Never been before, the flea market looks excellent!
Be early to the flea market, I was like twenty minutes late and all these amazing heap backglasses were already sold.
Quoted from PismoArcade:Whew.... That was close. I was getting ready to "thumbs down" you for the first time.
Ha! It would have only meant going Friday and Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday.
Quoted from pinballholder:Thinking I am gonna bring my Swords of Fury and my soon to be Grand Lizard (this weekend!), as those pins don't seem to be as easy to find and play (and they are hecka sweet pins to play).
Please bring SOF, Have been really wanting to put some time on one, the one at Arcade Expo wasnt working.
Quoted from Cheddar:Well it's official now, I'll be bringing my Bride of Pinbot 2.0. If I have any more luck coming to me (not likely) this year it will have a new playfield in it!
That is amazeballs!
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:To clarify: The dates are listed May 15-17th on the PAGG website. I'm assuming those are the correct dates.
It's always the weekend after Mother's Day, so those dates are correct. The date for MY thing changed so now I can go on Saturday.
Quoted from haugstrup:There's one at Hi-Life in Oakland right now. Go drop some quarters!
There is? I will!
Quoted from Aurich:I'm going to do my best to make it up to PAGG this year, I didn't get my shit together last year and was sad.
It's a really good time Aurich, worth the drive. Machines usually in top notch condition due to all of them being from private collections, usually a good amount of rare ones too.
Quoted from CactusJack:So, anything new on the "2015 Discounts" at the Best Western indicated on the PGG website?
It's still a ways off, I'm sure they will get it squared away. I stayed their last year and it was a really nice hotel. They will basically tell you at some point to call and mention PAGG for a discounted rate.
Anyone want to speculate on how the special guest may be this year? Steve Ritchie last year and Dirty donnie as well.
Also I really like the poster this year.
Saw Steve (Blownfuse) the other day and told him he needs to get his "punk!" up and running and at the show.
Quoted from blownfuse:I knew months ago, all you had to do was ask me when you came by.
Steve
Next time I see you I am asking your about everything upcoming in the pinball world.
Quoted from gaspumprob:Thinking of bringing a Gottlieb Excalibur machine for people to try out. Something different. Any interest?
Rob

Most definetly! I look forward to the rarer oddball games so much more that playing AFM or MB for the hundreth time.
Quoted from blownfuse:Was this directed at me? I was thinking about bringing some obscure lesser known games this year instead. Maybe games like Star Race, Force II, Striker, Rocky, Counterforce, Circus or Eclipse? I can only fit 5 in my van. You mean we didn't burn everyone out on Spirit yet? I guess I can bring it one more time since John T. will be there. I do it for the show, my list of games is many but I limit myself to 5 now. There was talk about doing the whole System 80 line of wide bodies (23) but I don't have enough time to dedicate to doing that right now.
Steve
You or any of the six other people.
Bring counterforce! That game looks awesome!
Quoted from mrgone:My contact that has a dp roller games, I have been trying to get ahold of him for weeks.
He seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.
Let me know!
Get the translites signed, that way if you ever sell the machine you can buy replacements and keep the signed ones.
Quoted from Pdxmonkey:What to bring, what to bring?
Taking requests
Skateball and Radical!
Only 80 days, just called the best western to reserve my room at the special rate. Stayed there last year and its pretty nice I must say, although all I did was pass out in my room after playing ten hours of pinball.
Just sent an email to help volunteer with load in on Thursday as well.
I emailed PAGG about a week ago sayng I wanted to volunteer with load in on Thursday but havent heard back, usually take a while to hear back about it?
Quoted from PismoArcade:Decided to roll the dice and stay at the Motel 6.... It'll be my first time in one in years, but the Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews make it look good.... Anyone ever stay there?
The best western full already?
Quoted from PismoArcade:No, but I was intrigued by the positive reviews and the price. (I figure the money I save can going toward buying pinball stuff.) Borygard confirmed what I had heard about it formerly being a Red Roof.
Gonna give it a shot and it if blows then it's back to the Best Western next year.
Hey, its basically a place to sleep right when you can't play pinball. The best western was nice but the total time I spent actually awake in the room was maybe 1 hour. Looking forward to seeing you!
Time to start talking about **ID Badges**
If you still have one, they will be the same, so bring yours so there are plenty to go around.
Last year didn't go so well. I left them in a box on Borygards table with a big free sign at opening on friday, all of the ones I brought. They were gone in like two hours, probably mostly to people who had no idea what Pinside was.
So I am doing what I did at Arcade Expo. Let me know ahead of time either in the thread or via PM if you plan on coming and want one and I will write your name in which reserves it for you. No ones going to take it if your name is on it. I will have two seperate boxes, the reserved box, and a box of blanks for people that dont reserve ahead of time. I will also save some blanks and replenish throughout the weekend.
I plan to be there right at the start on friday, so you can get yours anytime.
As always these are completely free.
(note they have a hole in the top and a lanyard, the ones in the pic hadnt gotten that yet.
Quoted from Borygard:I'd say quite the contrary, sounds like things went *very* well. Would you have rather they all were still there after the show.

Ha! Good point! No fault of your own and thank you again for doing it, I just know that quite a few people that wanted them didn't get them, and for how many I made I didn't see very many that weekend. But yes better than a box full by weekends end.
Quoted from PismoArcade:Count me in, Steve!
I'll reimburse you for your cost...thanks!
Cost is nothing for me, and I wouldn't let you pay in a million years regardless even if there was.
Quoted from wcbrandes:Might be driving down from Vancouver. What is the best place to stay?
The best western is nice and had a 90$ a night deal if you call and mention PAGG.
Quoted from Ronnie1114:Its sold out. Tried to book yesterday.
Glad I booked early! Someone else on here said the super 8 was good too.
Quoted from PismoArcade:Motel 6 looks much better than Super 8, IMO. Much better online reviews.
Oh that was the one, they shouldn't both have numbers in their names if they don't want me to confuse them.
I may sell posters at the swap again, will have to see what I can scrape up. Toying with the idea of making some kind of poster to sell as well.
Quoted from blownfuse:Me? I have a few project games I'm thinking about selling, not sure if I have time to dig them out though.
Steve
He may have been asking if I was selling posters again like I did last year. I usually grab a few cool ones we print at my work throughout the year and sell them for like 2 bucks a piece, but we havent printed anything that cool this year.
But since we are on the subject or projects. Is your getaway a project?
Quoted from MrArt2u:Hey, we may have bought some posters from you last year. Did you have a cool soapbox derby one? I can't remember what else we got but we bought a few.
yep! That was me. Will see what I can scrape up this year, probably nothing screen printed this time sadly.
Quoted from mrgone:59 days and counting.
So close! You there all three days Mr Gone?
This threads been too dead! What's the one game you have never played or barely played that you are hoping to see. I finally got to play TX Sector at Arcade Expo, but the sound was too low and it wasn't playing that great so that's the one I'm hoping for.
Quoted from Cheddar:I'd love to play a Big Bang Bar,
Never played one? Its cool, I think the rarity gives it a bit more hype than it would get otherwise. Love the art package on that.
Quoted from Cheddar:Flight 2000
Pinwillie was practically giving one away around this time last year, couldn't sell it to save his life!
Quoted from CactusJack:I would love to play a dialed in Big Game. One of my favorite Classic Sterns I haven't had the privilege to own yet.
Pinsider MOF is hot for that game too, I wouldn't mind playing that one either.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/video-8-gtb-spirits-at-the-2014-pin-a-go-go-show
Cool video in this thread of the Spirit convention from last year.
Anyone from SoCal coming up to PAGG with room to haul a pin for me for some cash? Molly has a Rollergames she can sell me. You could most likely pick it any time between now and PAGG so it makes it easier to schedule it. Thanks in advance!
Quoted from PismoArcade:Hmmm... The game list only has about a couple of dozen pins so far.
I know it's early.... Hoping to see more added in the coming days.
I'm sure there will be, and I think last year there were a ton that showed up that never even made it on the list.
Maybe I already asked or someone else did, anyone alread have an AMH that they are bringing? Dying to play one.
If I made a pinball related poster to sell at PAGG would people prefer:
11"x17" which is a more standard size frame
Or 12.25"x17.25" which is bigger but may be harder to find a frame for.
Quoted from dsuperbee:18x24 too! Easy to find.
I considered that size but the cost jump to produce 18"x24" is huge! Like astronomically huge. I may look into it some more. I would hate to charge an arm and a leg for a poster. At the smaller size I won't have to charge as much.
Quoted from dsuperbee:Maybe a poll is in order?
When I get back to work on Monday I will ask around more about cost and figure out how many would need to sell and for how much to make sure it's not a money losing venture. Not trying to make a ton of cash, but also not trying to LOSE a ton of cash.
Quoted from hawkmoon:Hawkmoon, says, I see some people will be setting up on thurs.nite,is there a banner or backdrop you can set up for the attending pinsiders???
I will be providing id badges that people can wear so pinsiders can meet each other. Want me to reserve you one?
Quoted from Boise_D:ID badge for me please
Got you down for one.
Quoted from mof:(I'll bring mine from 2014)
Nice! I encourage anyone that already has one to bring it.
Quoted from anubis2night:Steve just checking if you have me down for a badge thanks
Also, you guys staying down there?
Already have you down for one. I am going to help load in on Thursday and come home that night. Then heading up Friday to be there when it opens, staying Friday night at the best western, then all day Saturday until close. Not going Sunday.
So I looked into the pricing for posters again.
Looks like if I wanted to print 18"x24" it would cost quite a bit making the posters cost substantially more as well.
Heres whats up. Pinsane and myself want to print some posters of the awesome Spirit lineup from last year. The photo is gorgeous and will make for an amazing poster. After cost of printing, one third of proceeds will go directly to PAGG, and basically any other proceeds after that would go to PAGG inadvertently as well being spent on auction tickets and supporting vendors. I am not trying to make a mint on these, just think it would be a fun thing to make and sell. I also don't want to lose money on them though.
Full disclosure, I am putting up for all the printing costs, hassle of bringing and plan on selling them at the flea market. Pisane is being gracious enough to let me use his image, and I do the grunt work. Or you can find me any time all day Friday or Saturday, arrangements could possibly be arranged if you were only coming Sunday but that would have to be determined.
If I make 11x17 posters the cost is way down and I can sell them at a very reasonable rate, like 5$ or 7$
If I make 18x24 posters I would have to at least double that to 12$ or 15$ to make sure I don't lose money. These would be offset printed on nice thick cardstock.
What are peoples opinion? I will do the smaller size for sure no matter what, I basically want to know about interest in a larger size.
Quoted from dsuperbee:12 to 15 bucks aint bad! I thought you would shoot out 20-30
Heck, if a good portion is going to PAGG, why not do the 18x24, after all it goes to charity!
I like your spirit! (see what I did there ) the only problem with the larger ones is that along with the cost that mean I have to sell quite a few until the money is made back from the printing, so there may be a better chance to make money for charity with the smaller size. I'm going to keep thinking on it, I have a few days before I need to make a decision.
Quoted from pinballholder:Yeah, any nice poster under $30 is a good deal to me Steve. I would love some one to come up with a variety of minimalist pinball posters to sell as well (hint hint). Something along these lines but could be generic of the pinball title:
http://gameroomjunkies.com/index.php/category/minimalist-arcade-posters/
So like a flipper, or an outline of a machine, pop bumper, etc etc. Even pinball schematics for something generic like a shooter assembly or pop bumper:
shooterAssembly.gif
I LOVE that idea but the problem I would think would be you would get into some areas of copywrite infringement and patents. Something I don't want to deal with. I have long thought about getting a tattoo like your example of a pop bumper. I wish I had better technical graphic design skills, as I have plenty of ideas but no way to get them on paper.
Quoted from Out-West:How many posters are printed in a normal run, what is the magic number?
With the smaller run there is no magic number, the money would be made back quickly enough and since they could sell for less I don't have any worries on that.
The larger size are a different matter. Those are offset print on enormous four color presses. The cost goes way up because plates are involved, it takes up half a sheet of paper that you would gang run other work with. I would have to sell at least thirty of them just to make the money back on the cost of printing, and I'm just unsure how much demand there would be after thirty.
Quoted from Sparky:I would take the smaller size because it fits the frames I already have. Is the pic of the Spirits you're talking about posted somewhere?
I think they are in last years thread. The fish eye one showing all of them.
I think I'm just going to do 11x17. It's logisticslly easier to bring them at that size too. I am going to try and do one giant sized one off to donate to the raffle though.
Quoted from blownfuse:It is kinda neat and interesting when done with very little color. I also like pic 3 because the faces in the backglass and playfield seem to stand out and look at you. Steve, I'll pay for a copy for John Trudeau (designer of the game for those that don't know him), I bet he'd get a kick out of it. Also, anyone of those pics would be great to get his autograph on. It should also be on the silent auction pic, I'm sure he'd sign it if asked.
Steve
Oh please, like I would make John Trudeau pay for one! He can totally have one. Also anyone that brought one of the Spirits last year also gets a free one! Lets make sure he signs the one for the auction, like I said I hope to make one large one for the auction. Actually, there is a good possibility I may have put two in that box I dropped off at your place way back when blownfuse, want to check and see and offer one up for the auction?
Quoted from mrgone:I'm in for 1 but only if blown fuse and practical Steve sign it.
Flattered but I wont sign it, I didn't have anything to do with the artwork or game, I'm just the printing monkey. I may have one more surprise in store for PAGG though....
Quoted from mrgone:please let it be a monkey smoking cigarettes.
That would be amazing! Has anyone ever taught a monkey to play pinball, because that needs to happen now!
Relaying a message from Brad over at PAGG:
"ANYONE have anything to donate to the Pin-a-Go-Go silent auction or raffle this year? Give us a holler on the website-- Mary Pearce of Vacaville is putting together both this year and she could really use your help in the way of donations. A Pinball or game room item, a piece of art, a gift cert to a restaurant, a new Mr Coffee or almost anything to raise money for a local youth group and make the silent auction and raffle more fun is appreciated!"
http://pinagogo.org/contact-us/
***********************************************
Like mentioned before I will be donating a exclusive LARGE print of the Spirits for the raffle/auction, to be signed by John trudeau.
Also any posters I make otherwise will also be available as raffle prizes.
Quoted from Aurich:The power of Steves combining is impossible to stop!
Steve Charland organized the spirits to be there
Steve tsuboda took the photo
And practicalsteve is making the posters
Steve to the third power!!!
Quoted from rvdv:Anyone can bring Heavy Metal Meltdown
To the show ?image.jpg (Click image to enlarge)
Yes!!!!!!! That's amazing!!!
Quoted from Damon:Sign me up for a badge and a poster please. I'm getting so excited, were finally getting close!
Put you down for a badge.
The organizers of Pin A Go Go are trying to get a line up of every game designed by John Trudea as he is the guest of honor this year. Right now they are missing a Congo. Was anyone planning on bringing one that they can put in the line up?
Quoted from micro:I'll take a poster Steve! Great idea!
You got it, and everyone else that requested one should be all good too. I plan on printing about 100, should be enough to go around.
Quoted from moto_cat:Where do we pick them up? Will Rob Anthony have them?
As of right now I plan on letting people find me on Friday if they will only be there that day. Saturday I will be selling them at the swap meet and will be there all day to close so people can find me then as well.
Right now there is a possibility of me having multiple pinball posters for sale, but I will be dealing with two different groups of people as far as money going to PAGG, money going to designers, etc. I am going to have to keep careful track of which ones sell how many and I don't wish to burden Rob or anyone else with that. Plus I like meeting people so that's a good excuse/way to do so. Any other poster designs I print beyond the Spirit one will be donated for the raffle as well.
I will try and find an option for people that will only be there Sunday and want a poster, as I cannot attend that day. Maybe a friend of mine will be willing to sell some for an hour at a certain time, or something along those lines. This will also depend on any being left at that point, I have no idea how much demand there will be.
Quoted from moto_cat:Sounds good, any teaser pics of the other prints?
Ha! I haven't even seen them yet! They are still being worked on so maybe it will happen, maybe not. I will post pics of all posters once printed.
I will have some other non pinball related posters for sale, basically extras that were going to be recycled at my work that I thought were cool or fun. I did that last year and those I sell for way cheap, just a way to save something from the trash.
Quoted from jfesler:practicalsteve,
Please put me down for a badge for "jfesler" and for "armouredhobbit".

Quoted from Ronnie1114:I'll take a badge. One for me and 2 for my buddies. Brich and Pin-Pimp

Quoted from Sparky:2 gets my vote. Like Charland said, I like that the faces are looking at you. One question...the color of the same pic Charland posted is a little more colorful?
Spirit #2.jpg
May just be that I imported it from the source onto paint to draw the number on it and had to convert the file, should be the same pic.
Quoted from moto_cat:#2, printed w/ some UV reactive ink would be cool...
Wayyyyy beyond my printing capabilities, but agreed it would be cool.
I just went back and double checked, the color were changed when I imported them into Paint and . added the red #1 and #2 and then converted from a tiff to a jpeg. The print files I have look much more vibrant.
They are the same colors as the ones JVSPIN and Sparky posted, use those for a reference.
Quoted from CaryCarmichael:Let me know how much I owe you for the badge and poster.
Badges are free. Poster price to be determined still.
Quoted from CaryCarmichael:Is there any way to maybe fudge the background, or remove it, or would that not make sense to do?
To be honest it doesn't bother me, I like knowing that it was taken at a show where they were all lined up. Also its not my photo, I am just printing it.
Looks amazing! I really want this to shine, these are such amazing photos.
So all previous votes scrapped, revote! Hoping to print on Monday so will choose then.
Personally I vote #1
Quoted from vtec16:I'll be there can I get a badge? Can you print one out for The_Dude_Abides as well (if you have not already). Thanks so much!
Done!
Quoted from mof:Why not make X of each one?
Cost. Printing two different designs at 50 quantity costs more than printing one design at 100.
Plus I have some other posters in the works with pinballholder to sell there, don't want to complicate things.
My hope is that whichever design we don't use for the main run will get printed as a limited edition 1 of 1 for the raffle at 18"x24".
Hope I'm not clogging up this thread too much with all this poster talk, people bugged by it? I can make a new thread.
Quoted from pinballholder:Sigh, you mean I have to do something....sigh.
LOL, ok called and left a message. Will post the response.
check their website, usually when it gets close it becomes a shipping option.
Quoted from Nexyss:Please put me on the badge list. Maybe I will meet a few more people this year. Thanks
Added!
Quoted from Kerry_Richard:Awesome Steve! Thanks for all your efforts towards our great hobby!
Quoted from anubis2night:We need to mention how much you rock Steve (at least once on each page of this thread) thanks for all your hard work
Honestly it is my pleasure. The pinball community has been such a great thing for my life, I like to help out, give back, and add to the fun in any way possible.
A few years back all at once a very close friend of mine passed away from leukemia, my other close friend and band mate moved to Argentina (ending the band). I was depressed and sullen. I didn't have any other hobbies and my son wasn't born yet to keep me insanely busy. Right around this tiem I found out that you could make pinball a hobby. That you can spend hours a day on a forum. That you could go to tournaments and meet people. That people would come over and help you make a repair for the love of the hobby. That people would send you free parts in the mail just because. I love pinball, but I think the people are what make it so important to me.
I bet this year I will end up talking to people at PAGG way more than I actually play the games like last year, and I am fine with that.
Ok, last day of voting for the poster design, right now its a squeaker, ten votes for design one, and eleven for design two! No voting again, but if you have not voted since Pinsane revised the artwork do so now!
Quoted from pinsane:Thanks for the comments and critiques on the photos. I've made some modifications which can be seen below.
As much as I liked my buddy Ty's LED-ized Spirit, I've taken your suggestions and made the leftmost pin match the others.
One of my favorite photographers, Jay Maisel, counsels photographers to "check your corners". While I personally like seeing the interior of the room, I've added a vignette to reduce distractions in the corners of photo # 1.
Regarding the warmth/intensity of colors, I had locally rebalanced the incandescent lighting when I submitted the photos to PracticalSteve. Based on your comments, I've set them back to the warmer colors. In my defense, these are HDR photos (which tend to exaggerate saturation) that were originally balanced to the overhead mercury lights so the incandescents end up pretty orange...
Desaturating photo 2 was an artistic choice, the micro-contrast was dialed up pretty high, and I thought by pulling back the colors it created a suitably eerie effect. I stand by this choice.
Thanks again for the comments. I hope you like whichever poster gets produced.

Thanks guys, feeling better but life is still a mess! My two dogs escaped the yard Monday while I was in bed with the flu. One was found, but the other one (sadly the not as smart one) still lost. Nothing like hiking trails yelling your dogs name with a 100 degree fever! Posters printed soon, will post pics when they are. Havent even had time to count the votes.
dog was found! attention can now return to being 99% pinball!! Just have to give her a skunk bath later
Quoted from Sparky:Edit: I found him after five days. He was about to get shot with a tranquilizer by animal control, and I came pulling up in my car, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Woah that's crazy!
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:Glad you found both those rascals!! Pretty scary for a dog owner knowing what can happen to a dog on the loose. Hope your feeling better as well.
Thanks dude, there is quite a lot of wilderness around my house, and she was in a lot of it, lucky she only met a skunk and not a mountain lion!
Quoted from gaspumprob:Steve,
I hope you feel better soon. Get rest and don't worry about this stuff!
Rob
Ha! I'm not worried, it's all good. I never get this sick. The things I really needed to stop worrying about was where my missing dog was, and missing time at work. Taking an extra day off tomorrow to just relax even though I'm sure I could get up at 4am and force myself to go to work. Going to watch movies my wife would never go for, planning on Midnight Run and Xmen days of future past. Thanks rob.
Quoted from gaspumprob:Hello Northern and Southern CA. pinheads. I am officially going to make the trek up to Dixon from the Ventura area again. This will be my third year in a row. (Steve please include me for a custom pinside name badge.) Anyway I just found out that John Trudeau will be there this year and I must say that is very exciting! That means I must now bring my Excalibur machine to share no matter what right? That leaves room for two more avoiding dragging a trailer! like last year I will rip all the seats out of my wife's Honda Odyssey van and fit a total of three games in it LOL. A very comfortable cruise! I do not know what else i will bring yet always a last min. decision.
Looking forward to seeing fellow pinsiders again!
Rob
Got you down for a badge! Usually your son comes with right? Would he like one too?
Quoted from wcbrandes:Steve are you doing pinside badges wouldn't mind one as well Cheers
added to my list!
Ok votes are in.
we had 18 votes for poster #1
we had 15 votes for poster #2
Looks like its the first one, hope this doesn't mean that the voters for #2 wont get one, great opportunity to get a poster for John Trudeau to sign!
Placing my order today, thanks for everyones opinion.
THREE more posters in addition to that one too! Plus my random ( non pinball) posters collected throughout the year. If you were a fan of Breaking Bad I got a HOT one you will want to get!
Pictures and more details coming soon.
Anyone have two spare 2.5" white rubbers they want to mail me? I am planning on bringing WCS94 to PAGG and it needs new ones on the slings. Happy to pay you for them, shipping for two rubber from any of the suppliers is ridiculous and I planned on doing all my shopping at PAGG and placing a large online order when I get my new game after the show.
Quoted from NiftyLED:We sell the rubbers for .70 each - we can snail mail them for $2.00 if you'd like or priority mail for $5.00
hmmmm, any idea how long snail mail takes? You guys are in Socal correct?
Quoted from NiftyLED:Snail mail(First class) would probably take 3-5 days.
Priority would take 1-2 days
Great! and great price. Will order later.
Quoted from gaspumprob:Lets keep this on the top! PINAGOGO is Awesome Yeah!!!!!!!! Who else is bringing games and if they are not listed yet on the official site maybe you can clue us in here perhaps.
Steve the posters will be awesome can't wait to see them done!
Thanks,
Rob
Posters should be done tomorrow!
If you haven't signed up what games you are bringing go do it now!
Quoted from mrgone:Bring games, meet friends, eat food.,play pinball.
Epic goodness is 16 days away.
Not to mention the air conditioned dog park with self cleaning hydrants and bottomless snausage bowls that Mr Gone promised would be installed for this years show
Quoted from Ronnie1114:I'm overly excited for this show, but my wallet isnt. lol
Yep! Told someone the other day that I dont come home from PAGG with a full wallet!
Excited to show you the other three posters that I will be selling at PAGG this year! Pinballholder had the idea, his friend designed it, I printed it and will do the grunt work of selling it.
These are printed 11"x17" on nice thick 14pt stock, these aren't wimpy posters, if you ever bought a PPE poster they are virtually the same. Suitable for framing or just slap them on your wall. Be th envy of all your friends!
Cost will be $15 per poster, $40 if you want all three. Five dollars from every poster will go directly to PAGG! These will be for sale on Friday if you come find me, or Saturday at the swap meet. I will post my phone number closer to the show and you can text me if you want some. In addition, at the swap meet only I will have a pile of other non pinball posters collected throughout the year and you can take one FREE with any poster purchase. More details of that to come.
Pics from my phone make them look low resolution, these look fabulous in person.
Quoted from anubis2night:Steve, I'm down for all three as well. Hit me up via pm or if you still have my cell and I can send prepayment. Also any word on framing size (these would look great in a mat and frame).
They will be 11x17, the white around them gets cut off. Just find me at the show, no need to prepay. What days you going?
Anyone else use Instagram and plan on posting pics of the show? I am. I'm not a big hashtag guy but would be cool to see others pin pics. #PAGG?
I'm practicalsteve on there as well if you want to be #instabuddies
Quoted from Cheddar:I am looking at renting a truck to haul games from Lodi to Dixon for the show. To get a truck with a lift gate I am looking at a 26' truck that should be able to hold 24 pins. I only have 15 to haul from here and I am willing to haul your machine from my place in Lodi and back. So if you are in the central valley (Elk Grove, Galt, Acampo, Lodi, Stockton, Tracy, Modesto and points south) and would like me to haul it in for you, let me know and we can arrange the details.
Thanks All!
Sending you a PM.
Quoted from practicalsteve:Sending you a PM.
Just googled the drive time to Lodi from my place, no longer PMing you!
Quoted from Ronnie1114:In case anyone hadn't noticed, I'm kinda excited. Now, I'm not as excited for the 11.5 hour drive. Hopefully my 1997 can make it hauling a trailer and near 200k miles!
Load up that iphone/ipod with plenty of pinball podcasts for a drive that long!
Quoted from Ronnie1114:Haha, I listen to Car Talk. Hilarious
11.5 hours of click and clack? That's going to warp your brain!
Quoted from CaryCarmichael:I just updated the 1 Armed Pinball thread - but for those not up on that thread, check it out, https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/one-armed-pinball-i-mean-it/page/3.
The reason I post here, is because Todd is coming to PAGG with his Heckenarm, 1 Armed Pinball device. As well he is bringing his custom Black Rose with 2 flipper buttons on the right side of the cab, so you too can play with 1 Arm.
Todd is super cool, introduce yourself and check out the Ben Heck designed Heckenarm prototype in person.
You can also check out the video of Ben Heck designing the 1 Armed pinball device at the Element 14 webpage, http://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-75135/l/episode-176-ben-heck-s-single-handed-pinball-mod-episode.
We will see y'all there!
That's amazing! Would love to meet him and play a game, I bet he whips me regardless!
Quoted from gaspumprob:Were is Sparky's BBQ shack?
Thanks,
Rob
Just out in the area where all the campers and RVs are parked. It's not that big and all in one row. You walk over there you are bound to find it. Not an actual shack, just a BBQ. Bring a side dish or beverage to share.
Quoted from Jabbles180:Ahh. Im getting excited. Its getting close. Lets see if I play even less pinball this year. Seems to be a trend as I meet more people in the hobby.
Seriously. I was there two entire days and talked way more than I played. I volunteered to set up on Thursday this year partly because I figured I wouldn't be able to play pinball and would do a ton of talking that day. This year I'm telling myself more four player games with friends so we can talk while I wait to play.
Quoted from PismoArcade:Wow! I count 183 pins listed so far....and that's not counting the ones that show up that aren't listed!
Looking good! lets make that 250 mark! My WCS94 will be there again this year!
Quoted from Jabbles180:Im working on getting one more system 80 game to the show. Its a long shot at the moment but im hoping to see it there.
Crossing fingers for pink panther!
Quoted from Miguel351:Any confirmation on whether or not BAA/PPS and Great Lakes Modular will be there again this year?
I would also like to know this. Is great lakes modular the ones that bring all the CPR stuff? Cause I am interested in a repro plastics set for Rollergames.
edit, decided not to be lazy and looked up great lakes modular, not the folks that bring CPR stuff, but is it confirmed that they will be there? Not sure what the name of them is.
Took a look at the vendors, damn who is going to take all my money? No BAA, Starship fantasy not listed (I sent them a message on facebook to double check), Twisted Pins listed, but I swore they were done?!?!
Anyway, there are still some great vendors, its not all sour grapes. Of course Rob Anthony, always great stuff. Cliffy will have stuff, hoping he brings a rollergames ramp protector (hint hint). Nifty LED are great guys with great products. Really wanted that CPR plastics set for RG without having to pay shipping though.
And sincerely, thank you to the vendors that do come to this little show. I try and hold off on buying anything the couple months beforehand so I can support the fact that you travel so far to be at the show. Thank you again.
EDIT:Starship confirmed they regretfully cannot make it this year.
Quoted from PismoArcade:Hmmmm.... One of the (many) things I love about PAGG is that it falls close to my birthday and I generally just buy a ton o' pinball merch from the vendors as my birthday gift.
Bummer that some vendors won't be making it this year.... Thank you to the ones that will.
More money for my posters
Quoted from Tribonian:I'd e-mailed Larry at Starship In March and the response indicated he thought he'd be there. Here's hoping!
Unfortunately I sent him a message last night on Facebook and he said they were unable to attend.
Quoted from Jean-Luc-Picard:What is parking like? I forget....
its totally fine. Not an issue. there is a lot across the street, and one behind it.
Quoted from Jabbles180:Needless to say, some vendors might not be there, but it seems all my buddies are still going to be there and I have a couple people im excited to meet in person for the first time. PaGG is still going to have its signature atmosphere.
This is what makes PAGG great!^^^
vendors are great but if none of them showed up I would still go.
Quoted from wcbrandes:Perfect. Flying in and will stop at one of your American Supermarkets that give you about 10 times the food for the same price as in Canada! Suggestions on what to bring?
No man! go to one of your super markets and get some of those "all dressed" chips I have heard about!
Doing another check for id badges, want one reserved let me know. They are free.

Boo thats a shame. Well you badge is already in the box with the others, if anyone wants to snag it and pretend they are Aurich for the weekend a lot of us wouldn't know
Quoted from moto_cat:Do the new badges have this years logo (theme) on the back? I was going to use last years. If it has the robot logo, I'll take one . ( my name is Mike )
Pic of last years logo >>
image.jpg (Click image to enlarge)
They are the exact same ones, so if you still have yours you may as well use it.
Quoted from uncivil_engineer:Dang it, I've got a scout function on Saturday... Plus it's a 4 hour drive.
Go Sunday, get there at open, this is the lightest time of the whole weekend. Worth the four hour drive if you can stay most the day.
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:Thanks Steve! One change is my friends Pinside handle is wrong on your list. It's actually Vtec16
Crap! will pull that one and replace.
Quoted from Kerry_Richard:Hello Pinsiders... I'm trying to contact the following guys re: PAGG this weekend... any help?
Brad Grant, Greg Ong and Steve Faith. I've put in their names on "Community Search" and nothing came up.
Thanks!
Kerry
Pinballholder on here has been doing a lot of coordinating as well.
Big thanks to Blownfuse for hooking me up with a couple of replacement slingshot rubbers, WCS will play all the better for it. Good seeing you for a brief minute today buddy!
Here's my Uncles Shelby Cobra I was telling you about. My mom said he built it himself from a kit.
image.jpgQuoted from jfesler:PracticalSteve,
What's the best way to find the badges on Saturday? I was gonna stay the whole weekend but some medical changes caused schedule changes to go with it (grr). At this point just planning a Saturday visit.
Going to make a big post giving all the details either tonight or tomorrow.
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:Sorry I was to late in the reply. If it's a pain don't worry about it. If you need a beer or two or three I'll have plenty to share
No worries! Honestly!
And for anyone, if I spelled your name wrong please feel free to just fill out a blank one and toss the incorrect one.
Ok- bear with me all for two big posts.
ID BADGES
The fine folks at NIFTY LED have volunteered to be keepers of the ID badges this year. Stop by their booth, they will either be under the table or on the table if they have room. They will be available from the very start of the show on Friday (or close to it depending on where I am in line.)
You can still reserve one, just ask before wednesday, after that fill one out from the blank box.
DONT TAKE THE PENS! you cant use any old pen to write on these!
I am sure you are sick of hearing about the posters so this is the last post about them. All posters on thick 14pt gloss paper.
SPIRIT POSTERS
I decided to price these at 10$ I want anyone that wants one not to be able to. 4$ of every poster will be directly donated to PAGG. Designer of the game John Trudeau will be there, get it signed! Pictures from my iphone dont do them justice.
SCHEMATIC POSTERS
A little higher at 15$ each, or all three for 40$. Five dollars from every poster in this group to be donated directly to PAGG. Any One looks great on its own, but all three tie together so nicely.
HOW TO GET ONE
These will be available at the Swap Meet that starts at 10am saturday morning. I will be there until 12pm so I can hit up Sparkys BBQ. You can also text or call me at anytime on Friday or Saturday and I will hook you up. (510) 774-0572. I will not be there on Sunday, but if you really want one something can be arranged. Shoot me a PM.
SWAP MEET BONUS
I have a pile of random posters saved from the recycling bin over the last year. These are NOT for sale on their own. You may take one FREE with the purchase of any of the pinball posters. A free one for each you buy, so buy four posters, take four free ones! These are super nice. The Breaking Bad poster with all the characters for size scale is 24x36 on very nice quality paper. Again FREE with any purchase but ONLY at the swap meet, thats the only time I will drag them out.
Also forgot to mention. If you brought one of the Spirits that was in the line up last year, your poster is free. Thanks for doing that, was totally the highlight of the show for me.
Quoted from blownfuse:That's cool but I still want to pay for mine.
Cold day in hell before I take your money sir
Quoted from bicyclenut:Can I get a Pinside ID badge for PAGG? or are they only for important people and the cool kids? please let me know. Thanks
You will certainly be cooler for having one, done.
Quoted from maglar:I would also like a badge if I am not to late.
Getting excited, Pin-Pimp and I will be loading up tomorrow, probably be heading out Wednesday. Ronnie, Brich don't let me forget to bring some tools, text me Tuesday evening to remind me.
Not too late, done.
Quoted from jonnyo:Hey Steve, haven't followed this thread too closely but if you have some extra posters, the PAGG raffle could always use some more prizes.
If all goes according to plan there will be a special one off larger sized spirit posted with different artwork for the raffle. Set of schematics posters also going to raffle. Also donating posters as prizes for the pingolf tournament.

Oh my god no! I really hope I didn't offend. I have become friendly with the Nifty guys and they offered to help and it was just easier to take them up on it then ask you.
Plus I actually was going to ask your help with something else, but wanted to think it through first, sending you a PM.
Again, I really didn't mean to, and hope I did not offend.
Quoted from DaveInSanFran:PracticalSteve: I'd love a badge if it's not too late. I'll definitely be there on Friday night, and possibly on Saturday morning (but Saturday conflicts with family plans for the Maker Faire.)
Quoted from Hana9so:I'd love a badge also!!! Can't wait!!!!!
Got you both down for badges.

Quoted from donjagra:I would like a badge too please. They look super sweet.
You got it!
Quoted from Curtis_Playfield:What? I have no idea who you are, nor do I care. Do not have people contacting me about Tracelifter you weirdo! I'm not interested in whatever drama you are peddling.
As for PAGG, I will see you crazies there & I called dibs on the Pinthetic's TX Sector translite!
Looking forward to making googly eyes at blownfuse and going on a couple beer runs, like I do every year
Molly
Glad to hear you are coming! Just saw Blownfuse yesterday and he was saying he wanted to see you.
Quoted from mrgone:3 days until SHOWTIME!
» YouTube video
Yeah buddy! Only one more day of work then time to help set up!
Quoted from VacFink:I don't see a complete Schedule for all 3 days on the Pin-a-Go-Go site, is there one posted anywhere?
Anyone recommend places to eat/checkout Saturday night after or Sunday AM for breakfast.
Curious too if anyone else from Visalia and area are traveling up. Would be nice to meet any locals.
PAGG isn't like other shows where speakers and seminars happen all weekend, its more about playing and getting to know folks. There are tournaments on Saturday and Sunday I believe. John Trudea is signing autographs Saturday afternoon. Theres the swap meet Saturday morning. Sunday has a pinball clinic. There should be a schedule at the show, but theres no seminars if thats what you are after.
Quoted from twista22:Can we just skip to the weekend please!!! I keep debating on if I should bring my CFTBL translate to get signed
What's the debate? Sounds like a good idea to me! At the very least I would bring an apron card to get signed.
Quoted from Cheddar:The Lodi crew is ready to go
IMAG0827.jpg (Click image to enlarge)
Well done sir!!!!!
Disappointed that I'm missing load in and set up today. My son woke up with a slight fever and I had to stay home. He's already doing better so tomorrow shouldn't be a problem. Still bummed though.
Quoted from Curtis_Playfield:If it's any consolation, your Rollergames is loaded up
I don't know if I can make it now; I have to see a surgeon today about a cactus spine that's lodged in my leg lol. So dumb! A tiny pinprick, but it punctured my knee joint and now all of a sudden I am getting MRIs and seein' a specialist. I have to walk on a cane, haha, MrArt2U was laughing at me when I was "helping" load games today!
Sucks, PAGG is probably my favorite show now! I'm getting sick of all the mega shows; I like the laid back old school vibe of PAGG. Lots of socializing, those Zartarian games, the flea market, the tourney is always mellow and fun...I'm going to be pretty steamed if the doctor won't give me a pass! We'll see.
Awesome! Hope your knee is ok and it's not too serious! Hope to see you there.
Quoted from mrgone:i will be there by noon tomorrow with 2 games. someone please save me a lanyard. thanks everyone for all your hard work to make pagg great. see you tomorrow.
Do you not have one? Why on earth haven't you asked me to reserve you one yet?!?
My son has been up half the night so I have a feeling that I will be home with him tomorrow instead of heading up early.
Anyone driving up 80 east that is passing through the Berkeley area? Want to pull of the freeway really quick and grab the ID badges? Otherwise the ID badges wont be available until after 6pm. I live very close to the freeway, wont be too out of your way.
definitely not getting there until later tonight now. If anyone wants to stop by and grab the ID badges so they are there earlier I would appreciate it.
Ok, MOF stopped by and grabbed the ID badges to put at the Nifty LED booth so you guys that get there early can grab them. Thanks again MOF!
Quoted from bicyclenut:Favorite game tonight? Go!
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:What a blast!!! Great seeing some old friends and playing awesome pins! Someone took my name badge for which kinda sucked. All good huge thanks to all volunteers & brought pins!!
What!? that aint cool, your name should have been on one and I specifically remember making you one. Were all the blank ones gone?
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:Oh all good Steve I know you made it. Nifty told a friend that I already picked it up so I didn't go check it out. I owe you a few beers for printing all those out for everyone! Very cool of you. Great event tons of pins and not too hard to get time on any pin you wanted.
Totally my pleasure, I met a lot of great pinsiders over the weekend because of them. Was a great show this year. Weather not too hot, never obnoxiously crowded, great mix of pins, great friends.
Such an amazing weekend, finally have time to say how I feel about it.
First off, huge props to Pinballholder, Cheddar, and all the other people that volunteer their time to put on such an amazing show. Pinballholder especially, that guy was always working! I know I saw him play at least one pin though, so he probably could have worked a little harder Everyone else that helps set up and break down thank you as well. I was really bummed when I couldn't make it to help on Thursday this year. Brad Grant, Steve Faith and those I dont know, thank you as well for continuing to put on my favorite show of the year, you guys are awesome.
So good to see so many old Friends. Pismoarcade who I dont see nearly enough of, it was an absolute pleasure as always to hang out, talk trash, and catch up. JVSPIN, I always look forward to seeing you, well done on placing third in the tournament! Hope to see you again soon. MrGone, the ambassador of pinball is one of my favorite pinheads of all time! Jonnyo, thatnks for helping out with the tournament, and great to see you. Anubis2night, nice to see you as well. Jabbles, good to see you, should have hung out with you more dude. Loren, great seeing you, and I am going to take you up on the offer to come see AMH sometime.
Great to see MOF as always, could not believe he actually may like a DMD era game now! No traction on him liking a EM yet though. Glad your allergies didn't bother you this year.
Blownfuse. Thank you THANK YOU for hauling out Sprit so I can play it! Thank you as well for bringing quite a few Treaudea games as well for the line up, was super awesome of you. Always an absolute pleasure to see you, and hope to see you soon!
Sparky and all the SPG guys, thank you for throwing another blast of a BBQ. Always a highlight of the show, and super generous of you Sparky. Good man!
Was sad that I could only see Pinwille for the briefest amount of time, one of the good ones in our hobby and you were sorely missed.
Great to meet new faces as well. I met so many if I forgot you please don't be offended. Hawkmoon it was a pleasure, cant wait to tell my dad I met you. Ronnie, I could not believe how young you are, you are like a pin mogul, watch out for that guy starting so young! Pinthetic, thanks for the absolute fantastic price on the mystery castle backglass, my steal of the show! Good meeting Drewster too.
Great to finally meet Art, thanks again for hauling a pin for me.
Glad Molly could make it, hope your knee feels better!
Was more than happy to provide badges again, hope everyone got one that wanted one this time.
Thanks to everyone that bought posters, I think we raised around $250 for PAGG when all was said and done. hard to keep track, near the end of the day I was just throwing money into the bucket when people would buy a poster.
If you didn't have a good time, your nuts and doing it wrong. The game selection was fantastic, lines were short, games in excellent shape, parking never an issue, and the weather was gorgeous!
Cant wait until next year!
Knew I would forget people! Great to finally meet Kerry Richard! Good to see Norcal Realtor again, should have chatted more with you buddy!
Great to meet Harley, and see Xscrapiron and fattrain again.
Im sure I still forgot some, its early and my son had me up all night.
Quoted from TG:What a great show this year! Great seeing familiar faces, and met a ton of new ones this year. Thanks to PDXmonkey for the sweet Radical! Sorry I had to pull it on Saturday afternoon, but I had to head home. I'll be bringing it back to the show each year. Big thanks to Sparky for the BBQ. Had a nice chat with Steve Charland. Already looking forward to next year!
Todd
That Radical was so nice! You ever think of selling it down the line let me know.
Quoted from pinballholder:So went down to my local Aaron Brothers and picked out a frame (18" x 24") that was half off and used a 40% coupon for the matte (opening for 12" x 16") and was able to walk out the door under $50 for my framed poster (including special acid free tape and taxes). Wish the posters were more standard size so I could have bought something off the shelf as 12" x 16" required me to lose an half an inch from each side (hiding a bit of the autograph). I could have done custom but that will run you north of a $100 real fast. I also could have also gone 11" x 17" and not lost any to the side but lost a half inch on top and bottom. This hid more of the signature and cut off the lock down bar on the middle pin so I opted for the first option.
Signed Spirit Poster (Click image to enlarge)
Looks great! Sorry the odd size was a pain. Next year if I do it again I will go "standard" rather than "bigger". You could have floated it in a frame and been less fancy, but it looks fantastic.
