With all the constant bickering of which band or music genre would make the best music pin, the following idea came to mind:
A Streaming Video Jukebox pin
Build a pin with internet access, one playfield layout, and multiple generic music theme artwork available to purchase, i.e. a complete art package for R&B, Classic Rock, Country, HipHop, Grunge, Electronica, Punk, Funk, Disco, etc.
Player selects music genre or artist at the beginning of the game (doesn't have to match artwork), and then that music genre/artist is used during gameplay, streaming in from a music video stream provider like Vimeo, Apple Music, YouTube, etc. All different modes/multiballs are identical across no matter the genre, just with different songs & videos playing depending on the genre selected.
Everyone wins:
- Players get to play a music pin with their favorite music theme and sound.
- Pin manufacturers could sell many different artwork pins and packages, special editions, etc., yet keep playfields identical to help minimize cost.
- Artists receive revenue and royalties every time their music and video is streamed on a pin during play. Pin Owners (Home or location) pay a monthly fee to access the music video streaming service.
Doesn't seem like to far-fetched of an idea to actually work. Yeah, the devil is always in the details, but it's doable with today's technology!
