    Quoted from chuckwurt:

Why aren’t the percentages shown for all categories?

Why are they shown for any? What other award does this?

    #311 4 years ago

I'd like to see the geographically specific categories (location, league) weighted against the population densities of their areas.

For instance, Titletown loses to Logan, when it has more pins than Logan's pins and vids combined? Obviously a population density thing.

    Quoted from pbu:

Obviously, but is that a problem and if so what's the solution?

I just told you the solution, do weighting of the votes against population density, or even plain population. Simple arithmetic.

An unrealistic example might clarify: If 1% of a million people near one arcade vote for that arcade, and somehow 50% of the 10,000 near another vote for that one, the first is still a 2 to 1 winner, when the second is clearly more popular among its target customer base. Fifty times more popular! Yeah, of course no way would 50% vote, but that's just an example. Reality would be much, much closer, but the point remains.

And don't think I'm shilling for Titletown, Pinball Palace would have blown it out of the water using this metric. (Do they have a door greeter who asks if you want to go upstairs, or what?)

    Quoted from pbu:

If someone else wants to start another award show based on the elitist model, great!

    Elitist? What?
