Damn love me some zach and Greg. Dead flips Wins the home brew that was fucked up on so many levels. It's home brew not dead flip fan club! He ain't doing a damn thing! I call bulllshit.

Dang! 21 out of 25 has to be close to the best. Well done!
Really enjoyed the show again this year. Thanks to everyone that put it together.

    Thanks Chuck,

Yeah one I got bopped on was Homebrew, I picked Spaceballs super fun theme and excellent work by Wolfmarsh 10/10

Yeah that was pretty funny and another thing he was in the running for best competitive pinball player with Bowen Kerrins and Keith Elwin. He doesn't even play competitive pinball, WTF?

He's a decent player but he couldn't hold Bowen or Keith's jock strap! Not even in the same league as those guys!

    Loved the show!

Can't even imagine that Wonka won a few awards since it really didn't deserve it compared to the stronger competition in the categories it won...

First off congrats on the show... this was without a doubt the best one ever!!! Loved the creativity and the effort put into the show itself. Fabulous effort. It seemed like a real Hollywood production. The hosts did a great job as well. I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of work you put into that.

The best part however was Kanda he was funny as hell.. that was without a doubt his personality. The host then took some cheap shots at him, but I doubt he cares. His acceptance speech was incredible and meant to be light hearted I’m sure. I think he won again because people like someone doing a podcast where they have no ties to selling pinballs, buying pinballs, he simply really has no ties, and just shares his opinion like it, love it or disagree with it. It feels more authentic coming from someone who’s not trying to peddle a business.

    Anyway great show!

    #259 4 years ago
    Quoted from Who-Dey:

Sorry, I dont believe that for a minute.

I'd be ok with Who-Dey getting Kaneda'd from Pinside. At least for a month or os. He's been almost completely off the rails lately.

    #260 4 years ago

Cary and Imoto did a great job... aside from Cary’s tired “he doesn’t even own a pinball machine” rant. Personally, I preferred them over Greg and Zach.

    #261 4 years ago

I have to admit I didn't expect much but the TWIPYs this year were really good. Tight, well edited and entertaining.

    Kudos to all involved.

    Quoted from Who-Dey:

No this show sucks without Greg and Zach and it was a STUPID decision to do away with them!

I know I personally don't agree. This was way better.

The show was fantastic, especially given the circumstances. Thanks for all the time and effort everyone put into this. We all kinda knew Dead Flip was going to win homebrew because of the sheer numbers of his fan base, but that doesn't make it any less fun!

It was an honor just to be listed and that so many friends liked Spaceballs. Hope you all get a chance to play it once the shows resume, I've put some nice new stuff in the code and playfield since last SFGE!

Lots of anti-Stern sentiment out there and I think that shows in the voting- Stern still did ok for all the fan boys to be sort of happy

    #268 4 years ago
    Quoted from Who-Dey:

Here's what you downvote happy people dont understand. I'm not saying Cary did a bad job, I actually kind of like the guy and his YouTube channel, but Zach and Greg were the face of this show and they have great chemistry together and everyone loves them.
I probably shouldn't have said the show sucked because it didnt really suck, it just wasnt the same or as good. Zach and Greg have that chemistry and I'm sorry like it or not that was missing tonight. Zach and Greg are the face of this show period.

Hey - we all love Zach and the Bone man but Zach now has a dog in the hunt as they say and has made his choice $$$ for his own well being.

    #269 4 years ago

IMO it was a few hours well spent. They made a cancelled event a fun thing for the rest of us. Thanks Cary, Imoto and everyone else involved.

Hey man- nobody is disputing that Zach loves the hobby but he is no longer as objective as he once was and that is a fact that comes with also being a distributor. Nothing wrong with that at all, but dont forget everything he does also helps Flip N Out with name recognition etc. In the end it is still $$ in his pocket and that's all well and good.

Can we get that table of winners & runners up, more soonish than lateish? Watched show show last night, twice. But after awakening from a drunken stupor and rereading everyone’s guesses prior to the show, am confused about who took home metal. At one point I remember Samwise Gamgee’s acceptance speech for LOTR as best new game. I love doing cocaine with you too, Johnny Depp!! Was any of it real or all an elaborate dream? Either way, the TWIPYS turned out great. Congrats to all the 2019 winners, runners ups, hosts, production crew, members, organizers and voters.

In my opinion, most of those categories that you didn't show percentages for should probably not exist at all. They are either pointlessly divisive or will likely always having the same winners year after year due to realities of this smallish community. Maybe use a different format where there is no one "winner" but a longer list of names worthy of special recognition.

All in a great effort by everyone, esp. considering the challenging logistics involved.

It was fun seeing everyone's basements. lol. And considering the production numbers boy is TNA ever is the *it* game for discriminating collectors.

As this is pinside, to end on a downnote, Wonka for best Art AND Animations?? FAIL. BKSoR was robbed!

Reveal all % or don’t, but leaving a few categories out raises suspicion where none really needs to exist.

    Look forward to next year!

Appreciate everyone's hard work for putting this together. Its gotta be a TON of work to put this together.
