Quoted from ForceFlow:A lot of people simply have a lot of opinions, and not everyone agrees with each other's opinions.
If you're able to keep things fun and light, and can avoid some of the heavily opinionated threads, then you'll probably be able to have a good time.
Don’t ever mind strongly opinionated. I like reading all the comments on ratings rather than just a number, but do so on both IDPB and pinside. Let’s me know what to expect on a game. Don’t really care where it’s ranked, just what people feel about it. Pros and cons. It’s very easy to spot a fanboy, a hater, and a balanced view. I focus on the balanced view.
Also agree that going for technical problem threads avoids a lot of the less than desirable “I have a point of view and you are going to hear it” threads.
For sure in some threads people just like to hear themselves talk and get a rise out of people. Pinside thru it’s ignore button let’s me keep them from doing that.
