Agreed. Despite the smoke and confusion and various biases, I find the Top 100 to be a fair indication/accurate ranking of overall quality as far as layout; rules; enjoyability; cohesion of design; implementation of theme.

Yep, IMO Pinside is overthinking this.
For every game of the same title (regardless of model), every rating should carry the same weight towards the Top 100 ranking.
