Quoted from pinballinreno:I was informed that if the forced closure bankrupted me, the lease is still in full force and, due in full, on demand.
Penalties will be enforced.
So, no relief from the landlord lol.
What a nice, understanding landlord.... not. Both in Sparks and Reno?
or
Quoted from DadofTwins:How can any public place plan to open back up when we might not have even peaked yet? It is taking how many weeks on this upward trajectory, I would think it will take just as long if not longer on the downward side. Then it isn't even eradicated completely nor a vaccine to cure us.
Has a vaccine been developed for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus? Has it been eradicated? We seem to be getting along without testing everybody. It's been what, forty years that it's been popular?
Quoted from yancy:That’s for slots, aka money printing machines. I’m sure the state gives zero Fs about pinball, if they even know it still exists.
Video Poker and virtual table games too?
Quoted from cjmjmm2006:Maybe I can have our engineer patent a mask with an integrated encased sipping straw.
That concept has been patented a few years ago.
Quoted from Chrizg:This is america and last time I checked we had freedom of choice. We do not have that freedom currently. We are arresting people playing catch in a park with their kids but letting people out of jail because of COVID-19 so it doesn't spread in the jail. The economy is closed down for 2% of the pop that has high health risks. Those 2% can stay inside until it is safe or there is a vaccine
On a high note, I was passing through Des Moines twice in the past month. I was fortunate that the Maid-Rite in the Merle Hay Mall was open for pick up by the Western doors. The owner took my phone in order from I-80 and brought it out to the car. Love those original loose meat sandwiches....
I still remember when this happened at a bar with pool table in a Marriott. So much for upscale clientele....
If the Nevada Gaming Commission can approve the Gaming Control Board's Health and Safety Policies for the resumption of Gaming Operations for Nonrestricted licensees (Full-blown Casinos and Resorts) and Restricted licensees (Pub casinos like Dotty's, PT's, grocery store and Gas station slot areas) then I think it is safe to say that pinball arcades can reopen this year.
The above policies were approved earlier today. However, whether an arcade can operate profitably is another subject.
Quoted from EJS:Another alternative would be a candle on the slot machine that would light in a certain pattern that would mention that it needs to be cleaned again before another player steps up. This would be easy on slow days and casinos already staff cleaning personnel already. On a Saturday night, good luck.
The IGT Slot Accounting System (Acres Gaming) has a new update that notifies an attendant to clean the machine as soon as someone finishes playing. Similar to a hand-pay or machine Tilt situation.
Configuration options include locking up the game as well as a unique candle flash pattern.
Can it be this simple? Look no further than Disney enterprises that recently updated their website with this notice regarding their Florida operations.
Excerpt shown below. Link to the entire notice is: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/travel-information/
Quoted from GamerMD:I'm driving down to FL next week from DC.. Anyone know if any arcades or barcades are open yet in any of the southern states (SC, GA, FL). I wouldn't mind making a quick side trip from 95 if anything's open.
Pedro would be so sad if you didn't stop at South of the Border in Dillon, SC. I-95 at the NC/SC border. Nice arcades. The one with pins historically has them in fair to poor condition.
Quoted from GamerMD:Wow I never knew South of the Border had pinballs. That's good to know. I stopped there a year or two ago for the first time in forever but only checked out a souveneir tourist trap type place.
About twenty the last time I was there.
The AMOA used the services of a multi-purpose lobbyist. Not sure if they still do as I am no longer a member. How many distributors and small ops are in this or their state associations these days?
It's times like these when a strong, well-funded organization comes in handy.
Quoted from hocuslocus:Lot of employees are staying on unemployment, rather than coming back. I know we lost about 4 out of 30ish, heard of a few places that had 90% turn over.
A bunch of workers tried that where my wife works. It's Job abandonment. No unemployment insurance payments for several weeks. Once eligible, the $600.00/week bonus ends (maybe it gets renewed though) and they are quite behind money-wise.
Once it was explained, all but one came back. There's one in every crowd. He insisted he was going to be able to continue getting his unemployment uninterrupted. Two weeks later he came Crawling Back whining and crying when his plan didn't pan out.
On a related note, most regional and destination resort casinos are doing well. Guests playing slots, video poker and keno as well as table games. Capacity constraints are in place.
Quoted from Joe_Blasi:the state has no control over that
they have an sign saying not regulated by the state of michigan
I agree and was aware of that. However, all casinos closed in March and reopened in June or July. This time they said no. They will remain open to protect the livelihood of their employees and the various Tribes.
Also note that no in restaurant dining is allowed under the new three week closure rule. Most, but not all Tribal casinos in Michigan will keep restaurants open. They will be the only places to sit down and eat outside of your home or vehicle.
Next time you visit Four Winds, consider having dinner at The Stray Dog in the town of New Buffalo. Also have a pre-dinner drink at The False Front; Bar by night, deli by day.
And I'd like to add that Four Winds is probably the nicest casino to visit around outside of Nevada.
Opens at 4:00 pm daily....
Quoted from LTG:Looks like things are heating up again in my area. Masks may soon be required, not up to the individual.
Which is fine with me.
As long as I don't get closed. Again.
LTG : )
Hopefully not "closed". Instead, look out for the new lingo: "we will take a two week pause on indoor activity" or similar weasel-words....
Quoted from NicoVolta:Still open, good crowds, ventilation system still running like a champ. Glad to be able to offer concessions too. New True fridge loaded with goodies (anti-plastic philosophy embraced... looking for good water alternatives Liquid Death has been mentioned but $$$).
[quoted image]
Good job staying open & safe for everyone.
No Shasta in a pinball arcade???
Quoted from ForceFlow:I refuse to use drinking fountains. On the rare occasion when I did, I could pretty much always came away from it with a cold or sore throat later in the day or the next day. Yecch.
As someone who traveled by air several times a month for 30+ years, I've used drinking fountains in office buildings, factories and airports thousands of times. Never a problem and I saved thousands of dollars. Even while on an expense account, I treated the money as if it were my own.
