I feel sorry for you and what you went through.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST WAY TO BUY ANY OLD PINBALL MACHINE IS BY HAVING IT SHIPPED TO YOU.

Since shipping is $$$$ the seller is counting on you not sending it back.

It always looks worse in person.

If it was a bargain in any way, some local collector would have grabbed it in a second.....especially from states with tons of collectors, MI, OH and IL.

#7 9 years ago
Quoted from NextoPin:

I wasn't looking for a bargain or a project, I just wanted a fully working BK2K and was willing to pay extra. He was more than happy to take the extra money in exchange for lying about it's condition.

Yep, I've heard that 1000 times.

If it was even a "fair" deal, someone local would pick pick it up in those mega collector States.

Quoted from RCA1:

I might be lucky since I picked it up in person, but I had no problem.

It's much harder to get taken when you examine a game in person.

Quoted from NextoPin:

This was my first big Paypal purchase, Choggard recommended that I send the money as a 'gift' to avoid the fee's. When I called Paypal to dispute they said there was nothing they could do for me because 'gift' purchases are not covered under the buyers protection program.

If you paid Paypal with a Credit Card, you would need to file the dispute with the credit card company, not Paypal.

The credit card company does not care if it was a "gift" or not.

Scammers count on the fact that most people don't know this.

Quoted from Pac-Fan:

However, you stand a good change at losing your PayPal account forever by doing a chargeback. Their rules are if not-sent as a gift, and you tried to work it out through their system, and they couldn't reclaim any funds from the seller, then you are allowed to do a chargeback and they typically will not shut down your account. However repeatedly or when you didn't go through their arbitration (which you can't when sent as a gift), then, while you can get it back you risk losing the account entirely.

No big deal. I'd rather have my $3000 back than a Paypal account.

I have not had an account in 4 years, and since then my penis has grown about an inch, and my gray hairs are growning back black.

Win/win/win

Here's a picture with out the diamond plating.. Sorry I don't see the damage in this picture either..

You Diamondplated the playfield?

Diamondplate is a trademark of Williams for coating playfields.

#150 9 years ago
Quoted from Choggard:

No I bought this mod from a fellow pinsider to put on the sides of my machine because I thought it looked great rather than mirror blades.

Is it in the pictures?

#174 9 years ago
Quoted from Choggard:

Yes, the first picture has it.. I also put it on my T2

I see it now. You are calling "Wear Plate" or "Tread Plate", Diamondplate™.

In pinball, Diamondplate™ would imply a clearcoat that Williams applied to playfields.

Quoted from Choggard:

I sent all these pictures to Mike. He could see all of this in the pictures I sent. The lights were still working though..

C'mon, that's like putting sawdust in the rear diff on a car and then telling the buyer "Hey, it was still driving".

You know that is total shit work, and you should have fixed it correctly before selling it to ANYONE.

Chogg,

If you told the guy you would cover the repairs, why not just keep your word and cover the cost of the repairs ?

I've sold 100s of games in my life and I've made money/lost money; but I've found even if I lose money, it's simply less stressful to keep my word.

$100? Really????

#463 9 years ago
Quoted from Choggard:

I told him my tech charges around $250 for all repairs

My cabinet guy charges me $200 for a knocked down pin cab.

That does not mean that he would charge you $200, or that EVERY cabinet shop charges $200.

If you said you would take care of it, just keep your word and take care of it.
