It's at Dick's Last Resort on Dearborn. The machine next to it - Soprano's - is in slightly better condition, as in, it has two flipper rubbers. These are the only two machines that I know of in the Loop.
Well, about 10 blocks north of the loop is headquarters which has a bunch of A list machines you can play for free in clean perfect working order.
There is a machine in the bar at the sw corner of Michigan and Congress. I haven't gone in yet, but have caught a glimpse when driving past.
Nothing much downtown, go to northside and lots of places... wrigleyville and logan square there's like 4 barcades with tons of pins.
You could probably take public trans out there pretty easy...
You don't really need a plunger. Just reach around underneath where the power switch is and wiggle it slightly side to side(not the direction to turn it off and on). Then grab each side and lift until the ball rolls forward out of the shooter lane. Of course, your tilt and slam switches will need to be disabled.
Quoted from aobrien5:Well, that's unfortunate.

Not sure if this is from abuse? No plunger and the sleeve is laying in the shooter lane.

Sure, but you can't really get up there and back on a lunch hour.
Just a shame I finally found some and they aren't even playable.
If Stern would offer an on-line, or even an in-house tech school for newbies etc the current state of pinball affairs would be much better for all of us. Think how many less broken pinball machines there would be translating into so much more happiness in the world with people playing instead of being disappointed. A broken pinball machine is similar to a broken down car on the road....you look to see what it is and laugh/pray it isn't your car. Never going to buy that car/pinball machine...its always broken on the side of the road.
This perception factor is one reason UPS spends so much money on keeping their brown trucks clean. Perception is reality... out-of-order pinball machines cloud the sunny future of pinball.
Especially when Gary keeps saying how important location pinball is for the industry. Problem is, it's not just lack of knowledge. We all know the operator knows how to replace flipper rubbers and clean a playfield, they apparently just don't care.

Yeah, you are correct. In a way pinball machines are similar to horses where some owners take good care of their horses and it shows, while others neglect them and that shows even more. Either way, lets get out to Arlington Park...and play pinball while we bet on the horses. LOL.

Haha, that'd be awesome.
Good news/bad news. Junk Yard was functional today, but not 100%. Had a couple switches out that made game play a little interesting.

most ops don't want to pay for the costs of fixing games or at times getting new ones.

Arlington Park needs slots / table games with out that kind of revenue they can't have big pots to get good racing.
Now it's nice to see plays like the D and mgm keeping Sigma Derby working for all this time. (if you have not seen it / play it do so before they are gone for good)
