Quoted from Pin_Fandango:

If you guys are going to buff, I have seen HEP use a rotary polisher with no issues but that is because he has lots of experience doing it.
I would instead use a D/A with forced rotation, like a flex or anything with force rotation. Much safer, you will never go through the clear and will most likely take 10 times longer overheat.
I have solid experience polishing paint and forced rotation also leaves a much nicer finish, just takes a hair longer than a rotary.

I've used a 6 inch random orbit

polisher from wen. I'm always worried I'm gonna burn through on final polish.
I actually think I started to on my meteor I just finished.

What should I be wary of not to burn through.

Or should I just freaking hand polish.
I just recleared my flash and will be sanding and then polishing.

Thx

Spraymaxing another playfield.
Second flash I've done.

Removed all mylar with freeze method and adhesive with flour and alcohol.

Touched up black insert circles and minor imperfections after cleaning with magic eraser and isopropyl.

Bought old school 2part for filling sunken inserts.
Had previously dripped minwax polycrylic in

Now I'm 100 % auto clear.

Some pics after 3 sessions of dropping clear and one whole can of spraymax.

Sanded lightly between sessions for tooth.

Will spray another whole can when humidity drops tomorrow.

Doing this playfield for my buddy as part of my payment/trade for his T2.

Quoted from DanMarino:

I'm pretty sure they advise that the can be warmed up or at least the same temperature as the air. Being warm should prevent it drying before landing on the playfield surface and help it flow/level out.

i put mine in hot water out by where im gonna spray it.

read that a couple of years ago in this thread that it

was an old graffitti sprayers trick

Finished my buddies flash playfield.

3 cans.spraymax.

Filled inserts with old school 2part clear.

Used orbital sander with 800 and then 1000 dry . Never tried this before but it helped move the process along faster.

Then 1200 1500 and then 2000 wetsand.

Meguiars ult compound and then meguiars polish.

Waxed and buffed

Thinking about investing in full mask forced air system.
Tired of holding breath with hf respirator.

Any suggestions for a solid system appreciated.
