Love this product. I used it on a 14 foot wood slab counter-top for a half-wall bar top. It really stands up to a lot. What I loved about it, is it required no sanding. However, super toxic. Without the proper ventilation and respirator you could possibly die.

Also, you need to follow the instructions. You have to shake the can for X/minutes. First upside down, the right side up, then pump etc. If you just spray without the prep the clear wont work. I forget how long, but you need to shake for a rather long time.

Bubbles or fish eyes are from oils. Crappy clear is either from not prepping the can properly, lots of moisture in the air or defective can. When you push the plug at the bottom of the can you are puncturing an agent. You need to use the entire can right away to have consistent results. If you "save for later" it wont work properly.

Quoted from tezting:

I spray in a small container and transfer the clear to the insert

Why are you spraying into a container, are you brushing it on? Or spraying into a tube of some sort so you don't have to tape the insert off?

The can is a 2 part system. I don't think you can spray it into a cup and then use it. When you puncture the bottom of the can you are mixing two chemicals and when it sprays it distributes evenly. The spray in cup method is for spray paint not clear coat.
