I would like to put LED in my game and do not want to buy the whole kit for big bucks. I would like to piece it together myself. My problem is I wouldn't know what colors to buy or where they where go. Sooooo I'm wondering if when you buy the whole kit if it comes with a contents sheet and a bulb location sheet. If anyone has these sheets can they post them on this thread

Yes, a whole kit, which is made up of 1 SMD 5050 bulbs will give you all the instructions, and colors, as well as location. The 2 Better/Best kits are found at Cointaker and PinballBulbs, IMO.
At Comet, we offer a universal kit. All of us, including Nifty, Marcos, Flipper Fidelity, and more offer
choices of singles as well, to build your own.

In this bulb, your instructions will include telling you to put a Red bulb Where Red, Green with Green, etc.... Orange and Yellow are best with Warm White in this bulb brightness.

It isnt hard to do...with or without a kit, because you will eventually need to lift your playfield and locate where you put the bulb. You can do so after you have a kit in hand, or get familiar with your game before, and order what you need.

There will be differences in cost, that is for you to decide, but to do your whole game with single LEDs, and an average of 150 Bulbs, you would start at about $49. Surface Mounted Diodes, depending on Vendor and type, should range from $100-$200.

The variety of choice is in brightness, and color in either the white inserts....you can leave them white or make a white insert any color...purple, cyan, ice blue, etc. And whether you want any color in your GI. Stay with frosted for this title...its your best bet.

All companies, all vendors will do an outstanding job for your purchase....you really cant go wrong.
The decision, before this thread degrades into another, "whos best" thread, is really up to you
in what you like from their offerings both in terms of price and product.

I know you will be thrilled with the transformation, whichever way you go.

Best of Luck!

Check out pinball center eu. They offer downloadable placement specifications that show the various lamps, and the bulb types + colors which they recommend. Their guides don't specify the GI lamps, so you'll need to go through your game and figure those ones out. You need an account to download the spec for your machine.

Thanx both of you very much What does GI stand for if I was to guess it should be general illumination

I have noticed on a pinball LED site they mention ‘no ghosting’ bulbs
Would that also mean they do not flicker/strobe?

I did LED my spiderman, but found that some of the inserts did not like LEDs (as they were not fully ON).
Will a No Ghosting bulb fade like an incandescent bulb?

No ghosting leds will not fade like an incandescent. Best bet would be to get the LED OCD board, my Avatar LE, NASCAR and T3 turned out perfect right out of the box. The fading inserts are perfect.
