I'd first check for corrosion on the switch matrix. Remove the switch connectors and inspect the inside of the connectors and their mating pins on the CPU for any corrosion.
Do the other switches test OK? I had an issue where the cap on my opto board would randomly short out the whole row where the slam tilt was.
