Went to start my playfield swap on my Shadow and noticed that the NOS playfield was different than the original from the game. Has anyone seen this before? Is it a sample playfield?

The one which has SP on it is made by Sun Process (company).
The one which has TAG on it is made by TAG.....
They used to have several companies working for them which made cabinets and playfields.
I do see differences between your playfields, but hard to see which is which.
I do see that your TAG playfield is missing the dimples on the top side which should help out to mount ball guides and other items in the right places.

The only person who can tell you which is actually which when it comes to prototypes/early production is mostly the designer himself.
I talked to one of them before and they have their ways to put small things in there to tell which version is which.
