The Shadow Phurba Problem

My right phurba on my Shadow table will not move to one side. I originally replaced the metal piece which moves back and forth and gets worn out after a while (the hole in the metal will get bigger). I put everything back together and everything worked fine (the phurba was moving to both sides) for a few games. Then the same problem returned. The phurba will move to one side and now will barely move in the other direction. There are 2 coils that work the phurba. Is that where I should start looking next?

Check the setscrew that holds the shaft in place. Make sure it's REALLY tight. Someone here just had that problem and that's what his issue ended up being I think...

If the set screws continue to loosen, you can try to use some sort of adhesive in the set screws. If that doesn't work, you can buy replacement set screw assemblies at Marco.

Yup the set screws were the problem for me. I used a little medium Locktite.

Fixed....that was it. At least it was an easy fix. Thanks for the help.

I realize this is a very old post, but I just tightened the set screw and it fixed my upper right phurba. Thanks to this post, I'm back in business!
