I had this same issue when I got my shadow. The cracked target bottom was causing issues - replaced it with new and all good.

Shadow is def worth more than it’s value I’d say.. super fun game, cool ball lock, divertor ramps are awesome, mini playfield, great sounds. Made more sense after watching the terrible movie too.
