Picked up my shadow on Saturday and having a blast with it. Noticed the the plastic tabs on the rear mini ramp in the back of the battle zone were broken which is preventing the ball from rolling back down to the playfield so I ordered a new one that should be here Friday. The screws were missing so does anyone know the thread size? I reviewed the manual, but it didn’t mention that unless I’m overlooking it.

Quoted from yellowghost:

I believe they are the same sheet metal screws that are used to attach lamp sockets and other things underneath.

Thanks. I’ll try to find one to see if it fits

Doing some summer cleaning and how easy/hard is it to replace an insert decal? Of course there aren’t any for sale so if anyone has any suggestions where I can locate one, I would appreciate it.

Thanks for the input everyone! I might try to see if I can use the water slide decal or similar method jonesjb suggested. I have a cricket stencil/label printer that can print on any material. I’ll try to print it directly on mylar or similar material and see which one works best. It looks like there is a circular seam around it so Ill see what I can do.

Can someone send me a high res close up pic of that section when you have time? Appreciate it.

I’m finally getting around to stripping the playfield to wax/polish everything and I want to try to repair the sanctum divot so I don’t have to Jack up the back end to make it function properly. Couple of things:

1. What type of paint do you typically use to color match the area? I Figure I will use kwik wood epoxy to fill it up, but not sure if I should premix it with the paint or just paint over it once it’s set. I would love to clear coat it, but not sure if I can just clear that one area or will have to clear the whole playfield (prefer not to do that).

2. Is there any place I can still buy the sanctum decal protector? I saw one from ministry of pinball, but I heard those don’t color match too well so I’m trying to find the circular one (already have this one on there), but not having any luck locating it. I went ahead and purchased some mylar just in case though.

Quoted from skuuun:

When I patched up my sanctum it had come to me done with some form of 2-part wood filler that was far too soft, the divot came back and the magnet would just drop the ball SDTM (didn't clear the opto when held).
I used JB weld steel-reinforced epoxy (slow cure version) and it works great! I will admit it's not pretty since I haven't gotten around to the touch up art but I just wanted to play the dang game. My patch has held up to over 1k games without issue.

thanks for the tip! I’ll see about grabbing that one then. Do you know what kind of paint I should get? So many types out there..

Also, I got lucky and found a bunch of sanctum stickers in the goody bag I received when I bought the machine so that’s one less thing to worry about.

Getting close to start working on fixing the sanctum area. Long shot, but does anyone know where I can get a “to the sanctum” decal? I might be able to work around the original one, but would be nice to repaint/clear the whole section.

Quoted from Pinkitten:

Ministry of Pinball has them. They have 2 shades of grey, light and dark. I can’t remember which was a better match. They are out of the darker one. Pinball Center in Germany has them, if you know someone outside the USA who can order one for you. They don’t ship here. I would try the Ministry version if your sanctum area is rough. You could just use the small, round, green/black dot decal that are available for around $5. Many owners have that. Looks like this (see below). good luck! [quoted image][quoted image]

appreciate it. I’ll check them out.

Question for people who have ordered from ministry of pinball. I ordered a sanctum overlay sticker from them and it was shipped on 11/25 (mailed to Atl ga), but I haven’t received it yet. How long does it usually take to arrive? Most likely it’s in usps hell so curious on how much longer it will be until I get it.

#10251 1 year ago
Quoted from skuuun:

When I ordered an overlay from them I wanna say it took about a month, but that was without the holiday season so they might be more bogged down. They ship from Netherlands so it's a long ride.

Thanks. That’s what I assumed, but wanted to get an idea of the typical timeline. This is the last thing I need to start working on it and it’s going to be my first playfield teardown so I want to make sure I have everything ready to go. So many parts to take off and nervous I might mess something up.

Quoted from FatPanda:

I got my Sanctum decal from Ministry yesterday (Jan 10) ordered Dec 27, shipped Dec 31, for those wondering. Kind of forgot about until I read the last few posts

Yeah, I’m worried usps dropped the ball somewhere and lost my package. I’ll give it another week or so then I’ll just reorder a new one
