Thank you! Makes sense since I was changing the battlefield opto’s #36 and has it flipped up and down a few times
Anyone have a picture where that bracket goes on the battle field kicker? Even looking at the schematic I cant figure out where it goes. Sorry, I’m sure its simple when I see it...
Just thinking about the Battlefield plastic replacement? I’m about ready to tear down my Shadow for a refresh and cabinet restore. I remember a list was started for black chrome awhile back. I Will be sending the wire guides down for a swap I remember that there was a project on this as well.
I’ll be sending my shadow rails for swap out so maybe the timing will be close to get them plus the battlefield in one box!
Found mine in August 2019 for under $3k. But....it was in a detached unheated garage and I remember we could not get the menu to cycle through to get it on free play or see the test report. (Broken enter switch). Had a dollar bill acceptor still in it and we had to load quarters in it to get a game going. Had crazy gen 1 cheap blue and purple LED’s everywhere. It still even today smells like cigarette stank whenever I lift the playfield. Went all in on color DMD, new Aurich trans light, new legs, Comets, new plastics, titans...new caps on the boards, flipper rebuilds etc. but that’s part of the fun in this hobby.
Up next is a full cabinet restore (needs a lot of help) and that awesome battlefield cover floating around out there, chrome ramp swap out with gun and new speakers. Didn’t know much about the game when I got it but it is so enjoyable now and I always find myself and others playing it all the time. Decided this is a keeper pin as well thus the $ invested in it so far...
I was able to get the stock factory shot holding my phone. This is before the sensor install. It did register on this round. I know when it’s not so fast it does not register 100%. I’m not a YouTube guys so sorry if the video is not so good....
Retro refurbs sells them

Quoted from woody76:what is the best method for installing the cover? I swapped one out years ago, but had the playfield out of the game.
The only tricky one is the left rear. I lifted the mini playfield and used a small wrench and fingers to pull it out. Same on install with a shop rag below when you drop it putting in by hand. It’s tight.

That would be me! I purchased the decals from pinballdecalseu.com. We were surprised by how much more purple the new decals have in them vs. the original but overall it fits the theme I have going with purple flash domes etc. The cabinet restore/clear coat of the playfield was the last item on the list. Can’t wait to get it back. But its good to play Erik’s while I’m waiting for mine!

Anyone have a lead on some used Shadow wire forms? Need the small one that goes up to the battlefield. Finders fee paid if you can help out! Also listed in the wanted section.
Thanks!
Quoted from epeabs:I'm nearing the end of my friends Shadow restoration. After clearing the playfield I have reassembled everything and installed in the game. When powering up the game and going into test report, I am getting the following error messages. I just replaced the wall switch last night even though the original seemed to be working. I have my own Shadow to look at as well, and nothing looks or seems out of place or not connected. Is there any one common denominator to all these messages? It's starting to drive me crazy.

Problem solved! When rebuilding the wall target the bottom switch (55) needs to be aligned correctly or all chaos breaks out. Realigned the switch on the bottom stop.
Anyone have a pic of the battlefield electric motor set up where the brass gear rides on the white gear teeth? Interested if your brass gear touches the mini playfield bracket or not. Installed a mantis mini playfield bracket and the gear looks like it is touching the bottom.

Cliffy’s arrived today.

Sooooo, been working on changing out the sounds and music using the pinsound + board for my shadow. Jedimastermatt gave me some help on how to do it without using a PC, or the pinstudio app.. They do not have mac support and i'm using a mac... So the process has been exhausting.. and obviously it isnt any where near perfect. I probably have about 30 more hours left to get it dialed in. Having to adjust every single sound fx and every song just going through all the files one by one
I was going for an EPIC type of soundtrack. Something to make it badass, and still fit the theme. The video is long.. and i'm sorry for the washed out LED look. it looks great in person... awful on camera.
And thanks to Matt for the help. I used his pack and edited all the files with my own.. There are still a few left behind Ive either not found yet... or have to get too.
Give me some feedback.
Sounds great! Let us know when it’s done, Looks like you are a pinsound expert!
