Quoted from Robertstone0407:

Thank you, i am about to power up today for test out. I thought it looked like a cool street lamp. Also i got asked if i can make some of the mini playfield thumb screws. Is anyone interested in this?

yes I'm in for one. mine is missing

I have to say that I really think this pin is cool. So much so that I took the time to watch the movie last weekend. Wow! What a piece of crap! Stupid in so many ways, and I even fell asleep before it was over. IMHO, the movie doesn’t do this pin justice. Got to play the pin at TPF last year and really liked it, can’t say the same for the flick.

#4403 6 years ago

As a recent new member of this club, I watched the movie last weekend as well. I agree that a lot of it was pretty damn stupid, but it was still mildly entertaining AND more importantly, I now have a much better appreciation of the game's modes and callouts. As such, I'd recommend watching it. The Sanctum in the flick looks pretty cool too.

Anyway - great game! And FWIW, pics of my TS's pinblades are below.

Despite the previous poopooing by others, I still think they look great! I particularly like how well the red accenting, that the scarf provides, ties into the overall playfield aesthetics beyond just the nightime cityscape that the other pinblade set only consists of. To each his own though.

Looks great Tuna, thanks for sharing!

I just got my Shadow a couple of weeks ago and intend on watching the movie at some point simply to understand the game a bit better. At the time I bought my LOTR I had not watched a minute of any of the movies but found I had a much better appreciation for the game after binge watching the trilogy.

#4405 6 years ago

The movie reminds me of Marvel's recent Dr. Strange Flick.

#4406 6 years ago

After getting my Shadow, I sat down and watched it with my kids. I had seen it but they had not; it isn't good enough to actually have on movie rotation. I think it helped them understand the game and it is nice to put a face with the voice and such.

Also just got my Aurich translight yesterday! Can't wait to install it this weekend!

I would agree that the only thing the movie is good for is better understanding the game. Also, if I had a Shadow, very first upgrade would be to get rid of any trace of Alec Baldwin's mug on it.

After this little exercise my interest is peaked. I'm going to hunt out pins at this year's TPF that are movie themed that I've not seen, spend some time playing them, and then later watch the movie. Seems kind of backwards, but I have a feeling that I may like more of the pins than I do the movies.

Did you clean and polish the mount and targets? How are the springs?

It looks like one of the springs is weak. I cleaned and when i push on one it stays up. Where can i find the springs

Thanks brother, im rocking your mod too.i found my issue, the game disables the targets cause that one doesnt latch. Easy fix. Looks like ill be tearing it down again lol

#4414 6 years ago

Robertstone407. Looks badass. What color bulbs in the back spotlights? Purple? And is there a reason for for not adding the silver domes around the spotlights on the top playfield?

Never heard of waxing drop targets. Only ever cleaned them periodically. If the springs are good.

#4415 6 years ago
Quoted from yellowghost:

And is there a reason for for not adding the silver domes around the spotlights on the top playfield?

I often use spotlights without the silver reflector domes on my games. Without the domes, they are less obtrusive and offer better light spread.

Thats a great idea!!

#4417 6 years ago
Quoted from GRUMPY:

I had issues with my targets sticking and not working right. Cleaning helped but replacing springs is what really fixed it. Looking at the manual, the spring is part# 10-364. Replace all four.

Here's the backboard city mod that was given to me. I believe I printed the Illustrator file 1 and it fit perfect.

A simple question, is there a way to turn down the start sound when you switch the pinball on? I know how to control the volume but I mean the system start sound. I find it a bit too loud for the livingroom.
Any advice?

#4423 6 years ago

There used to be a guy selling a plastic with that decal on ebay. Not sure if he is still doing that. I got his email from a friend and he still sent me one a while back. Didn't fit all that great but I made it work. I forget the email address, though. There is also a red brick version but I prefer the city one.

Glad it worked out for you and I finally got around to installing hassanchop's inner cab decals last night while I was waiting for the laundry to finish

Quoted from jonesjb:

I wanted to create some art to put in the back of the pinball machine, but wanted something with a halftone gradient fade. Created this from scratch... It's similar to the other mods out there, but made sure the alignment was on point. I just have to match the proper pantones. I may also turn off the lights in some of the windows.

I posted this earlier. Complete with Pantone and halftone dots. I had to print it myself on semi gloss photo paper and use adhesive to stick.

Those city inner cab decals look pretty good. I like the colors and simple design that matches the plastics in the game.

While cleaning and fixing up our Shadow we’ve encountered a little bit of lazy wire repair work from the previous owner. Some of this wire has snapped. This is a connector underneath the mini playfield. We are going to fix the wires and replace the connector, but the question is, should our replacement be looped like the wire here? Does anyone have a picture of this connector handy?

Quoted from jawjaw:

For those that prefers the brick wall backboard, it's pretty easy to make your own. Which is cheaper than and looks superior to the commercially available plastic and sticker brick wall options. Here's a write up:

My father in law 3d printed me a 35cm (13.8 inch) high phurba dagger I'll use as a topper! I want to add a bit of black paint to make the details pop more and might be adding a led light/flasher below it. (I know it's not the same dagger as in the movie, but it's still cool haha) What do you think?

If the game had a traditional ball launcher that would have made a cool handle.

Thanks

Anyone ever put an inline fuse on the magnet (ala Addams Family?). I did about a year ago, but now it's blowing. I suspect the fliptronics board, but I tested the path of the left upper flipper section that the magnet is going through and it all seems to check out (transistors, diodes, etc..). Any other ideas?

Can anyone tell me the part number used for the optos to sense the battlefield kicker's position? I'm having a hard time finding it in the manual.

"CPR" is doing a run. I think its sold out already.

#4450 6 years ago
Quoted from yellowghost:

Not really. They will produce more if they get more sign ups. from the website:

"Sometimes we still accept candidates onto waiting lists because we have extra material to extend the run on the fly. If so, a "Full, but Open" email link is provided. If you see a playfield marked "Full, Closed" it means we have a full preorder AND a full waiting list and no ability to extend the run."

Shadow is shown as "Full, but Open".
