Battlefield kicker seems to have issues firing when moved over to the right side of the upper PF only. Fires without issue when in the center/left area. Opto tests out great in switch test mode. Any thoughts?
Quoted from Mbecker:Holy crap -- $355 final bid?! That's a nice little profit! Couple people really wanted to stop having Alec stare at them
Wow...is Aurich still selling them?

Loose wire on the coil making contact in some positions, but not all?

For those prices I can wait for his next run, lol.
Quoted from t2:Can the plastic on the front of the mini play field be found anywhere?
That piece was included in the replacement plastic sets, so there should be some new or used/good ones out there.
Hello guys, I need to replace my ring's lamps but those I have bought are much smaller than those already installed and smaller than the hole itself!!! Can anyone help me understand the real dimensions and how they should be inserted in the ring? Those installed are directly soldered to 2 wires and fixed with hot glue.. :S which kind of lamp holder is originally used with these? Where can I find it?
Thank you!!

The ones you ordered look correct to me. Perhaps some previous owner did a hack to get them to use another bulb. I'm not an expert though. I'm just basing it with what's on mine.

Those are the right ones -- they insert into the 2 - wire "harness" for each bulb - it should have a white plastic circle on the end with the two holes for the rigid bulb wires to fit into. Def. looks like a hack job... if I remember right you can order a new "harness" wire for the bulb?

Fairly certain he was done done doing these on the last run but I suppose people have said such things before

I have a used one if you just need a replacement for one that's missing -- have to dig around and I'm headed out of town early tomorrow for Michigan show.. back Monday if your not in s hurry I'll take a look. It's possible it got a bit marked up trying to get rivets out

How did you get to Remove rivets?

Thank you, do you have a link or can suggest a key word to look for them?
Hope they didn't drill in the rings to fit the bigger lamps
Did your spot light reflector fall off and work its way into the ball trough? Crazy how crap like that happens.
Quoted from GRUMPY:Did your spot light reflector fall off and work its way into the ball trough? Crazy how crap like that happens.
Yeah, never happened at home but with constant play at pinfest today it did. Bulb went first. Then then hood a bit later.
Don't have any good pictures of it but I have the posts sitting on 3 washers to raise them to give clearance for the ball. The GI lamp I have a yellow/orange frosted. Very dim but it still has just enough to see there's something up there. When it switches over it goes the dark frosted purple from comet. Lights it up great and both fit with the rest of my layout..... When they don't fall off...

Yes, as mentioned, just drill them out. But you walk to be cautious of the bit walking across the plastic.
The lamp holder -- fairly certain it's on Marco specialties. about $10? .. do a machine search for shadow then sort by price. I'd go find it but only have mobile till Tuesday.. takes forever without desktop
Is there a video of the 'grumpy' mod? There does not seem to be a thread for it and I am not 100% sure on what it does?
I originally thought it was going to kill all the lighting on the game except for the battlefield when it is in use but I don't think that's right?
Appreciate any help. Cheers.

Believe it to be the opposite. Battlefield only lit when in use. I prefer mine to be on all the time. I even put a light up there so it wouldn't be so dark. To each there own.

Thank you! I took a look on marco's site but no luck..I was not able to find them and i think they aren't available
I really don't know what to do.. looked on mouser and rs components too,,they seems to be missing from everywhere..

Hmmm let me look back thru emails when I'm home.. may come up with something. I also replaced two of the 2 wire harnesses on mine because the lead going into the bottom of the bulb connector snapped.. I think it's repairable as a last option but I'd have to see if I ended up keeping or tossing it.

Welding is obviously best -- I think the right side brackets you can find but left side only used? Short of welding you could use some jb weld glue and another piece of angled steel behind it to reinforce
Having a random issue with the ball trough on my Shadow. It seems like it's leaving too big of a gap between the balls sometimes when they are loaded up in there. This makes it so it won't kick out a ball when it needs to. For example, when you lock a ball, sometimes it won't kick out the next ball from the trough, but if you nudge it, it'll then try again and pop out correctly.
I ran the test for eject balls, and noted it was getting stuck and not ejecting occasionally. When I then reached inside and moved the balls forward a little, then it successfully kicked them out for a time until it got stuck again.
Didn't disassemble the trough yet, but is there anything in there they could be getting stuck on? The ball gets stuck on the switches on the ramps all the time so I wouldn't be surprised.
Anyone ever have an issue with the lock release mech behind the wall not returning to the original position to properly release the next ball?
I replaced the coil sleeve and also the spring. It seemed to help a little but Im having intermitent issues again with it getting stuck or moving too slow.

You most likely have divots in the ball trough. Common problem.
The balls create divots in the trough at their resting places and can get hung up there. A swift nudge as you indicated sets them free. You can use a file or a dremel to get rid of them, or in extreme cases a new trough. Check it out, you should be able to easily file it down and resolve the issue.

get the pinbits ball through kit

fixed the issue on mine
btw the new one is plastic and not like the one pictured on the website

This is another option. It's made to cover up the divots I mentioned earlier.
Working on the diverters... They are sloppy so I'm tightening up everywhere I can. Two areas I'd love some thoughts:
1) Crank Arm Assembly Set Screw Ring Loose - How to Fix?
The ring the set screws are in can rotate a bit within the Crank Arm due to worn away metal. The pictures show the same crank arm with me having twisted the ring the farthest it can go in each direction (about 15 degrees total I'd guess). Fix this with some epoxy? If so, suggestions? I'm thinking something rather liquidy so it can get into the seam as I don't think I could work putty into such a small tight area very well? Fix with something else?
CrankArm-Rotates (resized).jpg
2) Crank Arm Assembly - Roll Pin Hole Enlarged - What can be done?
I don't have a picture of this but essentially the hole that the roll pin resides in has been worn away and enlarged a bit. One thought I have is to find some washers with an ID slightly larger than the roll pin... and then to epoxy those above and below the arm in the right place? But is a circular hole okay or does this really need a slot? (If so I could just modify the washer appropriately and use the same idea)?
Quoted from tiesmasc:1) Crank Arm Assembly Set Screw Ring Loose - How to Fix?
I would braze the ring to the crank.
I was looking for diverters too..mine are totally broken.. they are unavailable everywhere..asked Marco several times but he has no plan on restock them, they cost around 17$. Try to write to him on fb, maybe having multiple requests he changes his mind!
Quoted from tiesmasc:My Shadow has a broken left divertor bracket.
Didn't go the welding route. Lloyd (@LTG) had a great suggestion so I did that. It turned out very nice and seems both strong and tight.
LTG-Suggestion Made Real (resized).png
Edit: And I just noticed that I have the coils flipper around... solder lugs should be towards the inside rather than outside... will fix before I assemble with crank arm...
When you shoot an orbit does it loop around and bounce off of the same flipper... for a flipper pass? My orbits seem to go down the middle if I don't flip... is this normal?

If you didn't already find them, the only place I know of to get them is from Australia:

Assuming that your wires still have the molex connector on the end you just need a pin tool to pop them out and put new ones in.

My game is like that. Ball goes so fast sometimes that you don't even get a chance to flip. A lot of times I will just hold the upper flipper up to prevent the drain. But sometimes that sends the ball straight down the left outlane. Tough game
Orbits shouldn't center drain. Sounds like the ball is being bumped towards the center by something that is misaligned. Upper flipper?
Looking for a huo or nearly restored shadow if you guys know anyone willing to let one go. Big thanks!

Thank you very much for the segnalation! I have the four molex but Unfortunately the shipping costs from that shop to Italy would be around 60-70$ which would make a total cost of 100$ for 4 lamps holder plus tax..a bit too high ! ((

I discovered a new bug in the Shadow code today. If you tilt on Khan multiball while the ball is in the Khan hole (multiplier), the ball stays in the hold for the remainder of the game and any new games until another multiballs is started. The next multiballs operates as with 4 balls then. I didn't try this with Shadow multiballs or the mode hold.
