I spent around 60 hours converting every single sound and music file on my Shadow using PINSOUND+ to make it sound and feel what I believe it should be like... Epic!!!

Hahah, closest I've gotten to actually beating the game in 10 years.
Does anybody have receipt from with lamp type/color from a nice looking LED upgrade they've done? I know I saw a thread somewhere with that but I can't for the life of me find it. I'm also a bit of a noob and not sure which brightness is best for this game.

Coin taker Ultra brite purple… $4.95 per bulb. Expensive at but very much worth it imo.

I'd have to dig them up but mostly Non ghosting color twin smd for the inserts and frosted cool and warm twin smd for under plastics. Ulrich looked best to me with all white...
The biggest thing that irks me about Shadow is the lack of adjustability to the extra balls... i hate how you can't make it so phurba extra ball you have to hit the start scene mode again to collect the EB like you do for Battlefield, skill shot/Who Knows and loop EB, and since you can't do that, you can't turn off phurba extra ball memory like you can for all the other modes which I would love to do. This makes it so the phurba mode is way too valuable. It's not major or anything but I feel like it throws off the scoring/strategy balance of the game a little bit.
I also hate how you can't turn off skill shot EB and Who Knows EB. The skill shot EB can be worked around by turning off ball save so that skill shot is extra risky but would much prefer to be able to just turn off the possibility of it coming. I really enjoy the risk/reward nature of EBs and they just flat out make the game more fun to play so it's a shame they didn't think more about this. Anyone feel the same?
Quoted from cookpins:Just joined! Hoping Aurich does another run soon if his translite.

Welcome!
Edit: I may be able to help you on the translite

I like the original myself, just a choice - not saying anything against Aurich's . I actually had all sort of translites on other games, and switched everything back to original. The alternate versions will make great wall art!

To each their own, I totally dig the Aurich art work but kept the original just in case. Recently I ordered a Back Glass from overseas that looks awesome, honestly, I prefer to have all back glass on my pins when possible but there is something to be said about having an OG machine.

From Xianek? On what games, do share pics once installed. How is the quality?

Yes, I have not received it yet but I will share pics once I get it installed.
Edit: for The Shadow

Sold.
Anyone else out there with both the Aurich translite AND speaker panel, in like new condition? I’m holding out hope that he’s doing another run still and I can just get from him, but I also can be impatient.
Complete play through of the shadow.
Every mode
Every multi ball
Final battle
AND running my custom Epic Mix sounds / music using Pinsound +. Hit me up for the link!
So a few people sent me PM's about the Aurich translite I mentioned, I only have the translite but it has a slight blemish in the center, the pics should show the issue. It's probably easily fixed but I never bothered because he and I worked it out and I have a replacement. Everyone has turned it down, which is fine but, I figured I'd post the pics if anyone is interested please let me know. I'm not looking to make any real money on this deal just trying to help someone looking for his beautiful artwork.

I bought the translite and speaker panel from a pinsider 6 months ago for around $300. Aurich is doing another run soon Though.
Quoted from cconway84:Aurich is doing another run soon Though.
Ooh! Did he confirm this to you? A couple months ago he said he wasn't set up for a run so I was giving up hope
Has anyone replaced the red gems in their rings?
I've recently bought these: https://www.pinballlife.com/the-shadow-ring-jewel-plastic.html
And I'm trying to figure out how they are supposed to stay in the rings. they don't seem to have a way to snap in. Is it glue. Has anyone else replaced their gems?

Not exactly confirmed, but he’s looking into it

Haven’t done it but I would guess it is glued. Most things in the pinball world like that are.

Quoted from Saltimbanco:Having said that, any full ring out there being sold? (Probably in Europe I guess). One of mine just decided she had it and broke off!

Yep, but I understand the gems are different. I’ve bought these and intend to drill the gems out and replace with the Pinball Life gems (which are NOS).
I’ll test the Planetary Pinball rings against the standard original rings currently on my pin and report back.

Reporting back, I checked the Planetary Pinball ring gems against the original and prefer the Planetary Pinball ones, there is a etching underneath (like the original), but the Planetary pinball ones have more of a contrast between the grooves. It looks nicer. Planetary Pinball describes the lenses as improved, and I tend to endorse this statement.
Quoted from jonesjb:Yep, but I understand the gems are different.
Hmmm I didn't notice a difference, my shadow was missing one ring when I bought it and the PP seems to be an exact match to my eyes. Still have a full set of lenses that I never ended up using because I can't tell them apart!
Edit: it's very possible the 3 it came with were already replacements but who knows, it had been routed and neglected...

The left ramp enter opto sensor isn't working on my game but I'm trying to figure out what the purpose of it is. It doesn't seem to impact the gameplay with it not working. Anybody know?

It’s to initiate the shadow loops, game requires a full pass starting from the left and then one around the inner loop by the right flipper to trigger a shadow loop.

I think maybe you are talking about the left loop enter switch rather than the left ramp opto.
If the left ramp opto has a gameplay impact, I don't know it. Maybe you miss a whooshing sound when it starts to go up the ramp. (Does it even do this? I can't remember)

Yes, it is used for audio sound effects.

I'd probably still fix it, optos are cheap and I can't stand looking at that damn credit dot
I'm currently refinishing my phurbas and rings as a project in case anyone wants to follow:

Quoted from Pinkitten:I found myself in that situation where a new pin is coming (TNA) and I had to let something go. At this point, I want them all to be keepers! But…something had to be sacrificed. I considered my Stern POTC or The Shadow. I sold POTC, just can’t part with The Shadow.
We all have different tastes in this hobby, but for what it's worth, I agree with your decision
Folks I am in the process of finishing my new decal set for The Shadow.
Wondering if people that own the game can chime in and help me out on some final details. I'm at the point of picking the materials for the upper playfield targets. To match with the game and movie the targets will display 8 different cracked targets to mimic the breaking of the mirrors.
Wondering what concept people like more (yellow should blend really close to current target color)
A) Yellow with black - more conventional look - target would blend with sticker
B) Yellow with silverfoil - this look would blend with the target but technically the mirror breaks the yellow target (inverses)
C) Silver foil with black cracks - target really act as mirrors but don’t blend with the target.
D) mirror target but with yellow backing
