Quoted from Chitownpinball:

Another thing. My sling star posts are red, what color are yours? I am thinking I would like purple, but I saw in the manual its listed as 03-8319-13 which is clear. Interesting...so are mine changed out???

Believe this is as they came from the factory.

The promo video

shows them as red, as well as the original flyer https://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=2528&picno=4121&zoom=1 ... from looking at pics online seems most (if not all) came out with red posts.

The part list shows 11 x 03-8319-9 red posts - maybe they were originally going to come out with clear and then swapped them for production; or simply there was an error in the manual??

Quoted from yellowghost:

I think purple would look badass! But instead I changed the rubber rings to purple.

Thats the stuff. I have clear titans currently, I will just leave those for now, they arent too old.

Very nice comparison, thanks.

So weird right? Doesnt red seem like an odd choice?

Does anybody know ,where to get the clear plastic ramps at the backboard?
Seems they are everywhere out of stock...I will join the club at the weekend and they're broken.
Regards Fred

There's 2 separate plastic tubes / ramps
03-9214 is the one directly behind the mini-PF
03-9215-2 is the one that angles down with the switch hole

03-9214 seems to be out of stock everwhere but 03-9215-2 is available at the below sites

@ Manny: Thank you for your reply! But where to get the other one?
Could be 3D printed....But I have no printer and experience..
If there is someone out,let me know!

You could place a wanted ad to see if anyone has one? I'll have a look if I have a spare (not sure which one I have)

I believe these have been reproduced previously and more than likely they'll do another run again (just depends when). What is broken with your current one - is the small tab for one of the screws broken off? A temporary fix is to drill a small hole in the back curved area and screw the ramp through that (you'll need to countersink the head of the screw so that the ball does get caught on it)

Tried blue posts too but wondering how orange would look

For anyone looking for some good Shadow content, here are some of the original radio broadcasts on archive.org:

Hey everyone,

I'm picking up a Shadow in a week and am excited to join the club!

It's a work in progress, but here is my Frasier themed translite. I'll share some pics when it's finished, printed up, and installed.

I salute your creativity... but why would you make it Fraser themed?

#7414 3 years ago

One of the most hated backglasses in pinball and I made one even more reviled. I think I did my job.

As for why Frasier? Because I thought of the awful pun and went with it...

Would be interesting to see a shadow with Orson Wells and Agnes Moorhead voices entered into the Shadow pin, along with other soundbites from the radio shows using PinSound.

Wait, what is this:

If you are going to do Fraser at least do the Aurich version

#7417 3 years ago
Quoted from NC_Pin:

I like the Aurich version, but the lights behind the translite won't line up. Maybe there's an easy fix, I don't know, I don't have my machine yet. But with that in mind, I thought, why don't I just play around in MS Paint? Through spitballing and coming up with a terrible pun, this is what I made. I'm a fan of Frasier, so why not?

I like the design of the original backglass, but would swap placement of Alec Baldwin and the Shadow. I kept it this way for my design because... the doctor is in...?

Anyways, I know it's stupid, but I'm still super happy with the results. Haha.

There are a few different alternate translites out there, this one for instance is a good replacement to the original Alec duckface.. and more like the original movie.. but there's a few that you want to look at..

This one is pretty nice, I’d go with this if I didn’t have Aurich’s. Frasier is such a non-sequitor.

I can't order it, retrofurbs.com won't sell to Canada..

Going through parts today and came across this right ramp assembly, it was my spare when I was in the Club! It is a complete NOS WMS assembly. If anyone needs this, PM me.

Hi everyone, is the audio kid/family friendly, and if not is there a G-rated audio option available somewhere? Thanks in advance!

Other than MAYBE the end of game clips,(Coward. Sissy. Why dont you play again?)

I disagree but i may be wrong. I tried to do a sound check but it only contains a portion of the speech clips

Shadow is my favourite game though and i have a soon to be 7yr old boy. I.feel like id have notice that

#7429 3 years ago

The youth nowadays know more bad words than in all pinball machines combined
Shadow is perfectly fine, nothing in there a 5 year old doesn't know yet hahaha

I don’t know of anything in the game that isn’t family friendly. It is more like TZ and IJ and less like MM and MB

I think Kahn’s head explodes at some point - are you concerned about violence or just audio?

Doesn’t Shadow say something about “The Shadow ******g knows” or has that been excluded from the LH-6 ROM?

There's no swear word on there, lol, unless I'm playing the extremely-polite-politically-correct--canadian-version-eh..

Hey guys.... On a dead stop/trapt ball left flipper - can you consistently hit the right ramp shot or is it random?

My flipper seems perfectly fine but I swear on a dead ball, it doesn't make it up ever single time....I have the right cool and all checks out with the typical issues including dirty opto.

It hits majority but not 100% assuming I got the ball right

I can hit the shot on mine no problem. If the usual stuff checks out (coil, sleeve, stop, link etc) replace the Flipper Opto Board. That is likely your problem. They wear out over time.

Good call. I'll do that.
