Same, I own 4 LCD, I LED and one COLOR2DMD. With LCD you have a choice to get the same dot effect anyway as LED.

The LED version was brighter, so if that's important to you then you might like the LED.
I did the same, the LED hurt my eyes and made me dizzy even when turned down but that was my experience only. I think the colors of the LCD match the Aurich Translite better

The other benifit of the LED is lower power draw. My Shadow has Comet LEDs installed which are pretty bright. I feel the brightness and overall display color of the LED Color DMD is a better fit for my game (and a little cheaper).

I admit, the fit of the LED is great, I wish the LCD came in that size but the LCD works as intended even though it's bulky. I also agree about the power draw but the LCD is low too, nothing like the old DMD.
The other issue I had with the LED was the white light line reflection on the display, I tried electrical tape which helped but maybe I just did something wrong.
In my opinion, whichever one you choose is massive improvement in looks and power consumption over the DMD, the LED vs the LCD comes down to personal preference because both are great!

I have all original DMD's on my machines as I like the classic look but that said I think the colour DMD looks fantastic, particularly on The Shadow as the colours really enhances the image and ties in well with the cabinet artwork (love the green).

I had looked into those and after speaking to a few people, decided not to buy them. They are not licensed, if that matters to you.

Looks like the Shadow is being revived, with a book series and possibility of a movie. So will there be a Stern Shadow I’m 2026? The Shadow as a character is coming up for public domain soon, so I wonder if this has anything to do with that?
The Shadow returns! Very happy to be back in the club after selling to a friend last year. One advantage of selling to someone you know!

I forgot. Who did the backboard city scape decal? I love the art but the decal is letting go in the high humidity beach air. I now think like others that it should be a plastic. I was wondering if anybody has the resources to make this happen (with the creator's permission of course).

Regarding a plastic - I'm currently awaiting my Rick and Morty (due next month), my next pinball project is to create some original hand drawn, color matched art for the R&M apron. If I like how it looks, I'll explore having it manufactured, and will explore options for a shadow plastic. Can't guarantee anything, not sure on timings though, as I have my day job and I'm currently creating a number of oil paintings for a gallery show later in the year (or whenever Covid-19 ends). The stuff I create for pinball is more of a personal side passion project.

Now that you mention it, I never thought about linenbacking as an option for an original TRON poster I recently looked at. I didn't care for the folds, but if I have this done it would help make those lines disappear a bit.
