{I thought these were supposed to be done by the end of last year.
It seems Starship fantasy is off to a REALLY slow start after taking over for pinball inc.
I wonder what's up w/ that?}

Here's what's up with that. James Loflin from Pinball, Inc will be the lead engineer for the production of new titles including Bad Cats. The transition from Pinball Inc to Starship Fantasy actually went quite well. The thermoforming company outside of Atlanta didn't do well with the transition. From November 4th until January 7th, they were unable to produce any ramps. This has led to an unacceptable amount of out of stock ramps.

While I could have made more money producing the Bad Cats ramps I felt an obligation to my distributors to continue to produce the core products before introducing new products. I am praying that all the difficulties with the thermoforming company have been solved.
They are producing ramps as we speak. As soon as core products, Addams Family as an example, are back in stock, we will slip in Bad Cats. Hopefully with in 2 to 3 months.

bump....anyone heard anything on these? Been putting off my restore until they are avl

#9 4 years ago

I'm in the same boat...holding off on installing my new CPR playfield until ramps are made.

It seems that ever since Starship Fantasy took over for pinballinc, Ramp production has come to a screeching halt.

I miss pinballinc. They were cranking out ramps at a pretty good pace.

It would be nice if someone else were to start making ramps. It's starting to become apparent that Starship Fantasy lacks the desire.

They are apparently still in the process of being run, just not there yet. I'm still holding patience and hoping.

Problems with the thermoforming company have been solved. They are producing ramps now but it is going to take a while for them to get caught up. James Loflin is still responsible for the development of all new titles. He is currently working on Bad Cats and the Cyclone Ferris wheel.

Spoke with Larry just the other day and he said they were working on the CNC File. They have to Cut, Test Fit, Alter, Cut Another, Test Fit, Step & Repeat Until the New Ramp ( Thicker Material ) fits Perfectly on the sample game. Once they have that done it shouldn't be long......

#19 4 years ago

Do I need to be on a list for these? I just bought a BC today.

#20 4 years ago

No

#21 4 years ago

Any word on the other ramps in the pipeline - specifically WCS?

#22 4 years ago

All of the ramps and parts for Bad Cats are at their respective manufacturers. I continue to be amazed at how many things can go wrong and delay the production of ramps. I have underestimated time in all my guesses and I'm getting a little gun shy cause I get upset when I don't keep my word. We are still waiting for the first set of ramps to be done and then the fitting process starts. Cyclone Ferris wheel is next then WCS.

Thanks for fighting the fight!

Any new news?

#25 4 years ago

I almost posted yesterday. Heard that testing is done and ramps are soon to be in production. No specifics, but they are coming!

#26 4 years ago

We are getting close. The second trial fitting is done and we are making small changes to the CNC machine. All parts have been received except the decal and those are printing right now. Hopefully less than a month.

#27 4 years ago

I was curious about the parts thing - are you referring to the spring metal ramp entrances or the metal protector in the fishbowl ramp? Just curious and excited to finally get around to restoring our Bad Cats.

Update. We are ready to go to production. I can't get a for sure date from the thermoforming company. I'm gun shy about giving a release date cause I always seem to be wrong, so I'm gonna say a month.

I picked up 1 set of these ramps on friday to photograph for the web site. Larry is out of stock on 1 of the metal brackets so as soon as he gets his order of the brackets he will be finishing up the assemblies....They look Fantastic !

#38 3 years ago

Lovely, when & where to order?

#39 3 years ago

They look great. Will be going on a new playfield of course.

#40 3 years ago

I like the idea of new ramps, but I wish they would come with metal edge protectors to keep the entrances from getting busted up.

#41 3 years ago

I'm sure that if you contact Cliffy that something might be made available.....

I will check on that. Both of my ramps are busted on both sides of the entrance.
Looking forward to getting my CPR playfield and plastic set installed with new ramps late next year. At least I hope that soon.

#43 3 years ago

Couple of things on this. I've talked with Cliff about making a protector for the ramp and if I don't sell I will work with him to get protectors made quickly. Second, these should be much more stout and averse to breakage than the originals and likely wouldn't need protection (though I'd still do it if I decide for some reason to not sell Bad Cats - interestingly it's starting to get interest now ).

I Have the bad cats ramp protectors. pm if you want a set.

Just sticking in my 2 cents. Yep another delay and this one is all my fault. I have everything I need except the exit bracket for the fishbowl ramp which I forgot to order several months ago. The bracket has been ordered but there is always a lag time before they get produced. I will announce here when they are ready to go. I can tell you retail will be $229 for the set.

Does this mean the ramps I ordered fro Curly won't be coming for a while?

#47 3 years ago

Curley got the only 5 sets I could make so you should be good.
