Inspired by the Nashville thread, I want to make one for San Diego. There are a lot of Pinsiders in San Diego and this is what we need on Pinside. I added important links for us San Diegans.

    Here's the SD pinball club:

    The Pinball Map:

Just added Avatar to Belmont Park on the pinball map. They must have just received it because the playfield is in perfect condition.

    #5 11 years ago

Thanks for the support. I might change it from San Diego to all Southern California. Now how do I change the thread title?

Another place I like going to is Games On in Pacific Beach. They have WH20, Shadow, TOM, TOTAN, and STTNG. The owner is a really awesome guy.

BTW, Nickel City will get a WOZ when it comes out.

Very sad and heart-breaking news to hear, but Games On is no more. It is closed now. I just recieved word that it closed its doors two weeks ago.

where's the best place to play? Has to be somewhat close to downtown (10-15 min ride). I should have a couple of fellow pinheads w/ me. Thanks for the tips.

Bar Pink has RFM and Black Rose.

Jolt'n Joes has LOTR and MB.

Corvette Diner had Corvette, Diner, and Gilligan's Island, but they're in bad shape.

Now that place only has Scared Stiff. BTW, SP will replace Avatar at Nickel City soon.

    Quoted from pinb0t:

Rumor is MM is leaving KMB soon to be replaced with Monster Bash.

MB is already at Kearny Mesa Bowl. Also, BBH is at Mira Mesa Bowl.

    #27 11 years ago

Looks like Funhouse replaced Black Rose at KMB and AC/DC Premium replaced TSPP at the High Dive.

    #32 11 years ago
    Quoted from Aurich:

FWIW right now their line up is: AC/DC, Monster Bash, Funhouse, and Demolition Man.

    Already taken care of.

    Quoted from HB_GAMER:

We need to add Your neighbor to the North, OC. I am trying to get pins on the map but think the addition to this thread would help greatly.

I like the idea, but just one thing: I need to change the thread title from SD Pinball to SoCal Pinball thread, which I don't know how to do.

    #36 11 years ago
    Quoted from HB_GAMER:

I added some tags for you. If you are unable to edit it as the op then you will need to ask a Moderator to edit it for you. Hope this helps and I think it is a great idea.

    Thanks HB Gamer.

I might as well add the LA pinball map.

    #45 11 years ago
    Quoted from sd_tom:

Does anyone know of any barcades opening here that might rival Oregon? . We have the craft beer, just need the cade part. I saw some mystery website:

    http://pixelbarandgrille.com/
    http://www.thepixelpub.com/

But those websites could be old / pipe dream.. Or worse, not be considering pinball in their business plan!

I sure hope that one of those places does get open and has a good amount of pins, like 4-6 pins.

    #52 11 years ago

I'd be down for a SoCal show!!!

    #54 11 years ago
    Quoted from TigerLaw:

I will bring the word with me and before you know it will catch on like wild fire. Next thing you know, we will all be trying to find a hut that'll sell us some crafish and frozen daqueries through a drive through while watching some re-run SEC football games from last season.

I will teach you how to surf/skate, get some REAL Mexican food, while watching the Padres, Angels and Dodgers play.

Hopefully on the 18th (a Saturday) I can get my group to head to Nickle City and maybe meet a few of you guys in person.

I'm in a pickle that day. My parents are going up to LA for one of my sister's events. If I work, I won't go to LA. However, who would get me a ride to NC? And before my parents get home?

    #81 10 years ago

    Thanks pinbwzrd!!!!

Played RFM at Bar Pink in North Park today. Half the lights were out, and the monitor looked a little fuzzy, but besides that, it played well.

    #84 10 years ago
    Quoted from UCSBrandon:

wish there were more pins in North Park.

Agreed!!! I would love to see a 10+ pins bar around that area. Make that the SD Pinball Club headquarters!

    Quoted from UCSBrandon:

Monopoly replaced at Woodstock's by.......a claw machine. Ughh. Another pin location bites the dust. Woodstock's has had steller pizza, great beer and playable pins for as long as I remember and only two blocks from my house. Now I guess San Diego Brewing Company and High Dive will be fighting for my location quarters. Can't go wrong with either of them, but I'll miss having a pin within stumbling distance of my house.

Is this the one in PB??

    Quoted from RyanClaytor:

Thoughts: I wish I still lived in San Diego. This sounds like a grand idea and I'm surprised you're not getting more takers. I still come back a couple times a year, but it's tough to devote an entire day to something like this anymore, as I'm a new daddy and usually lookin' after my little guy. Would love to meet up and shoot some silver ball for a couple hours if you're interested.
    Sincerely,Ryan ClaytorElephant Eater Comicshttp://www.ElephantEater.com
Additional Thought: Have you sent an email to Nate Shivers of Coast 2 Coast Pinball? He's in San Diego. http://www.coast2coastpinball.com/

Let me know when you're in San Diego.....

    #121 10 years ago
    Quoted from L8vid:

Get a party bus with a keg or two of local brew...not sure how far we'd get...

    Quoted from Jormungardian:

Also dropped by to check the Kearny Mesa ones out with my wife the other day. Very fun . I wish I had made it when you still had the AC/DC one cuz I really want to play it.
I'm closer to Mira Mesa Bowl so I go more frequently to check those out, my wife loves the mini pinball on the Shrek one hehe and I like playing Eight Ball Champ.
I've got to say you are pretty brave having your machines in both bowling alleys, I tend to see a bunch of unattended kids with the parents bowling that don't pay much respect to the arcades/pinballs. Last time I was there I had to stop a bunch of kids cuz they were fighting with each other and playing with the pools cue ball, and once I saw it flying (luckily not towards any pinball) I had to scold them and made them stop :$

I would have also told their parents!! By the way, nice collection!!

    #130 10 years ago
    Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Maybe open this up to all of Southern CA like you originally thought? We have all of WI and MN in one thread, works well!
