    Dumb question for anyone...

if my circuit breakers are 15 amp service, and the power supplies are 6amp, 12 volt... how many led power supplies can I have on a circuit?

Unless I misunderstand, 3 of these power supplies and I'm already maxed out for the circuit, and shouldn't put any pinballs on it, but that doesn't seem right? Could someone give me a basic electric understanding on that?

    Quoted from GRUMPY:

As many as 25. I wouldn't if I were you. Limit yourself to 16-18 and you will be fine.

Right now I have 3 power supplies (6amp 12 volt) powering my led strings.. plus some pinballs.

    Quoted from GRUMPY:

    6x12=72 watts x 3 P/S = 216 watts.
    3 pins @ 3 amps x 120volts = 1080 watts.
    216 + 1080 = 1296 total watts.
    15 amp circuit 15 x 120 = 1800 watts available.
Should be no problem. If you have leds in the pins even better.

Thanks. I had wondered about the math.

I recorded a video demonstration of my Crazy Lights installation:

The lights are Crazy Lights from ledlightshack.com

I started with their complete system, which includes the controller and 2 strings:

After that tested well, I bought an additional 4 strings:

and 2 additional 6amp power supplies:

My wife created power extension cords to run to the later strings, so they powered fully.

Typically you put these on crown molding, but to match my arcade we used metal U shaped trim, 1" diameter, from home depot. They were big enough to hide the leds and power wires, so that only their reflection was on the ceiling, giving that cool effect.

I tested distance from the ceiling, and I found it was best to keep them tight against the ceiling, as too much light across the ceiling began to reflect in the pinball glass. How I have it in the video creates no glare.
