If you love the game this restoration makes perfect sense. I've spent £1000's buying NOS parts for SEGA Goldeneye restore, when it's for the love of a game and nothing else the cost isn't a consideration.
Good luck with the restore I'll be following this thread and looking forward to each step of your progress
