Pintastic New England will bring more famous game creators to Sturbridge this November. We are happy to announce that beloved game designer Brian Eddy will be making his first appearance at Pintastic this year! He is known for having a high proportion of "A-list" games among his designs, including fan favorite Medieval Madness. He is now developing games for Stern Pinball, and we will sit down with him to discuss modern-day designs, including Stern's new Insider Connected™ system. As usual, those who bring games to the show will earn extra Bonus Points for each Brian Eddy game they bring. You get 3 points for a game where he designed the playfield, and one point for a game where he did the software.

We have enhanced our state-of-the-art software that tracks games brought to the show and the Bonus Points for those who bring them (and volunteers, too). To make conversations about the software easier, we now call it MyFlipR™. We are ready for you to register games you will bring. Start on the pintasticnewengland.com website, click on Free Play Games on the top menu bar, then pick the Login option. If you used the software in the past, your login name was carried over (usually your email address in all lower-case letters). You'll have to reset your password. If you are a first-time game bringer, there is an account creation page that collects your contact info.

Once you get in to MyFlipR™, the My Games page has an Add Game button. If the game you want to register is a pinball or pitch-and-bat baseball game, it's probably already in our database of over 3000 such games; just type part of the name and see if it pops up on the pick list. Choosing the name from the list is the most foolproof way to get all the Bonus Points you should get.

Pintastic takes pride in having the best bundle of rewards for bringing games to put in our Free Play room. You get admission to the show, admission to the Special When Lit ℠ after-party, a chance to win some swag in our game-bringer giveaway, a chance to win a blue ribbon for a game that looks good and plays well, entry into the Extra Ball Lounge℠ overnight, PLUS Bonus Points for desirable games! See our website for eligibility details. And if you want to put the game up for sale at the show, check off For Sale in MyFlipR and we'll help you sell it! Games that are for sale are indicated on the game card and on the online MyFlipR games list. Get one extra Bonus Point for each game that is registered by October 24!

You may have seen online buzz about Arcade Dreams, a documentary video that has been in development for a couple years. Rock Steady Media, producers of this epic, will send a representative to the show to give a progress report and show us some clips! They are still gathering material from all over the country about pinball, foosball, video games, air hockey, and many other coin-op games.

Rest assured that we are pursuing all the pinball manufacturers to send people to Pintastic to give updates about their newest developments! Many more great seminars, tournaments, and game showings will be announced over the next 2 months. Tell your game-playing friends!

    See you at the show!

    Quoted from Wizkid93:

Not going to lie, it was my first time bringing a game, I brought the oldest game, a 1932 pure mechanical game, and it didn't hit me til the day of the show, that this thing could be really abused.
But I was astounded by how everyone played my machine, when they did play it, they were very respectful.
On the last day, I felt a little let down because I felt the machine wasn't getting a second glance

If we get a report of a person abusing games we will make sure that person is aware to knock it off IMMEDIATELY. As collectors ourselves we treat every game at the show like our own. Nobody I have talked to or that I have seen has abused a game. I think there was a (possibly silly and false) report one year of a person coffin dropping a game and I was like "I'm pretty sure people would have gone berserk at the crashing sound and grabbed a show member". I will say though I didn't see your game Wizkid initially because it was so small and the plunger had issues. Frankly I was scared I damaged it Friday night because the thing is like a bajillion years old. Thank you so much for letting me play that game.

I think I can speak for staff here but you folks literally mean the world to me and especially the game bringers and volunteers. I have other pictures that aren't me obviously for promotion purposes. Thank you so very much if you played my Bram Stokers Dracula or Guns N' Roses: Standard Edition. A lot of people wince bringing their "precious" games to a pinball expo but if people don't bring their games then you don't have a pinball show. It's that simple! I personally love the B-tier games and EM's. They are an absolute blast to play late at night and you don't often see them but you do see the classic Williams titles all the time. GnR and BSD had the **** beaten out of it but the dimpling will even out and dirt, coils, etc can be cleaned or replaced. BSD I probably shouldn't have brought to the show as I decided to not sell it after all and decided to do my first ever playfield swap. Fun times ahead of me and hopefully it can take Best in Show for DMD era next year (I'm coming for you Gabe haha). Some things went wrong (power issues and water comes to mind), some things went REALLY wrong (some guy lost his dinner at the GnR concert) and some things went fantastic like the Seminar Room. See you folks this upcoming June 23-26! Seminars will be uploaded to our YouTube channel on a scheduled basis. So be sure to subscribe to the channel here: https://www.youtube.com/c/PintasticPinballGameRoomExpo/featured

The seminars were streamed for the first time on Twitch this year so if you lived far away or were sick then you could watch them this year. For future reference I would follow our page here: https://www.twitch.tv/pintasticne

All seminars were recorded of course according to MA chapter bylaw...(see what I did there Dave ). Marc Patenaude does by far the best in my opinion of streaming/recording the Silverball Rumble with Backhand Pinball aside from Karl DeAngelo. I record the seminars and handle the YouTube page which I highly suggest to subscribe to: https://www.youtube.com/c/PintasticPinballGameRoomExpo The release schedule will come out soon but we want people coming back week after week to watch them and enjoy them like a tv series. To me recording people such as Barry Oursler, Jim Patla, George Gomez or even say a podcaster is of the utmost importance for the industry and I'm seeking out ways to work with IPDB. The reason why it looks like a chaotic organized mess is that is what it takes to pull off these tournament or seminar recordings. If it's not then you can go back to watching seminars recorded on a camera and nobody wants that.

For me personally I don't like the location nor hotel because I'm in the north-east part of MA, is far from NH/ME/VT/Boston/Canadians, it's in the middle of nowhere and it's not a secret the hotel sucks. The reason why the show is there is because the hotel allows us to do anything and because of that the hotel doesn't care either and it shows with the condition of the hotel. We are looking into hotels currently like we did in 2020.

The show is constantly getting better every year but this year was certainly different than others. Game shortages and the cost of gas I know greatly cut down on people travelling to the show. Also we are in a recession. For clarification the reason why the show was held last year in November was we wanted to put on some type of show but I liked it and it was well received by guests.

First seminar of Pintastic Pinball & Game Room Expo is now available! It covers American Pinball with David Fix, Steven Bowden and Ryan McQuaid. Oh and nice job on the video used in the seminar Jeffrey Ohler. Looking forward to more of your videos for AP. Seminars will be released every Tuesday except the late breaking news seminars (all of those in a single week). Please subscribe to the YouTube page for future seminars and other promotional content.

I'm getting really disgruntled at some comments here.

    1) The hotel is terrible. You can pay $150+ or whatever and tell your yourself or your significant other to "suck it up buttercup" but that hotel needs to be demolished.
    2) This is Pintastic New England & Game Room Expo. This isn't a show geared towards making the show a convenient drive for PA, NJ, NY or any region outside of New England. You folks have your shows which are very nice such as Allentown, Saratoga Pinball and Arcade Show, etc. Personally I would love to see the show in NH because as Pixels and Pinball pointed out there is no sales tax. It's also more centrally located. Personally I live near Lowell, MA and will be going to Pawtucket, RI tomorrow for the EMP party. It doesn't bother me travelling an hour to RI but if it bothers you, you likely didn't want to go to the show in the first place. People from VT and ME travel 2-3 hours for the show.

Here are some pictures not seen by the general public. I bet you're going to say "oh bah it's not seen by the general public".

    Quoted from PinMonk:

Um, they should have read the yelp reviews before locking this in. I would keep looking for a respectable venue. Sounds like only a microstep above what they had before. These are from the majority of reviews in just the last year that are almost all 1 or 2 star:
"DRUGS AND UNCHANGED SHEETS. Stayed here in March, 2022. In the middle of the night, I reached out my hand under the covers in the bed and found a used crack pipe in the bed. "
"The hotel is worn out--in need of a total renovation. It's painfully overpriced for what amounts to a dumpy motel."
"the pool was so green you couldn't see the bottom"
"I paid $188 for a night in this crowded, unprofessional, dirty, shockingly terrible hotel. I would obviously never stay here again, and I strongly advise that you stay away."
"The carpet was tacky damp, found feces peeking out from under the fitted sheets (photos) disgusting!!! You mean the house keeper didn't see this!"
"Absolutely the most disgusting, dirty place I've stayed in 20 years."
"the room smelled, ac did not work well and to top it of, under one of the blankets was a water bottle, yogurt and panties. "
"Lots of weird sounds going up the elevator, sounding like some possible maintenance is needed. When I get off in the hallway, it is very hot. I suppose they don't believe they need to air condition the hallway. Finally, the walls in the room had some Schmutz on them. Not as clean as it could be."
"What a rundown place! The pool was dirty and smelly, the room wasn't clean- the sheets were dirty, the bathroom was dirty and the customer service was poor."
"Poor room service no clean sheets for 2 weeks and as for my trash I had to leave it outside my door so they would take it and throw it out. Plus my toilet seal wasn't working. I work in the afternoons they could have fixed it but did not. Tiolet leaking water and human waste. So I reported them to the board of health. Stay away from best Western."

I have not stayed at the hotel but I have done a tour with staff and from what I saw it was clean. We did visit a room just to confirm and it's good. Certainly not a new hotel or 5 star however the pictures you see on the Best Western website are a good example. I'm obviously biased but I would book a room and it's at a perfect spot. Right in-between Worcester and Boston. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g41662-d77558-Reviews-Best_Western_Royal_Plaza_Hotel_Trade_Center-Marlborough_Massachusetts.html
