I LOVE Gottlieb so I would be totally interested in seeing some of their Solid State games remade. Would love to see System 80b and System 3 remakes Then again, that’s just me and chuckwurt Hahah

I'd like a nice Hoops. I just don't think they'd sell one for the $4k I'd be willing to spend on a new one

    Quoted from greatwichjohn:

I heard the rumors, but it is not one of the new companies I brought up. Haunted House & Black hole would be the top 2 to do first. Never really liked Spirit, demand for pink Panther, & a bunch of others. Improved sound, speech, & rule sets would help out a lot with remakes.

Yeah, and I am not sure it was right to say a new company either, but the word was Gottlieb was being resurrected. I assumed it would be a new entity buying or licensing the rights from Mondial.

It's simple but super fun. I love how the spinner shot on the left comes out of the shot up the center, and the center shot returns to your left flipper wicked fast. Locking both balls during multiball is simple but challenging.

It was one of those tournament darling games I was skeptical of, but played for at least a hour the first time I found one.

I would love to see Hot Shot or Bad Girls remade. They are pretty rare games to come by so it would be awesome to see a limited run of these two

Nice! I remember playing a Tournament at an Expo a few years back and seeing Lyman Sheats Jr play Surfin’ Safari the whole time haha. Was so awesome to see him giving Gottlieb games appreciation the entire time.

"Asteroid Annie and the Aliens" as a 4 player.

Isn't this escapism pinball guy currently manufacturing a solid state Royal Flush?

Maybe someone can make a remake of a remake? Remember Gottlieb/Mylstar/Premier made solid state remakes of a few popular wedgeheads. Jacks Open to Jacks to Open comes to mind.

I would vote for an improved Haunted House with multi-ball. Conceptually a solid state wedgehead would be fun. Like a 2 player Gold Strike, but with mandatory chimes.

Alien Star would be my vote. Seems like there's a opening in the market for pinballs priced between 5-7k. More than a homepin but less than a stern pro now. Could be the sweet spot for those looking for a new game using older titles.

I think Alien Star may have the cheapest BOM of any SS I can think of, plus it’s fun!

Maybe you need some adjustment to your approach of wedgies, and a mentor (like Vic Camp) or JR on here to teach you how to enjoy playing them.

Hah! Thanks, but I don't think I could teach Levi very much about playing.

TX sector could get a rule change to make people actually play the game not just lit spinners all day long.

    Better yet.
Someone needs to figureout a way to remake "someone's" whitewoods and make them into games.

This with Krull and Going Nuts.

    #68 1 year ago

Neither of those are white woods, and both games suck.

My take on the remade King of Diamonds is, like a camel is a horse designed by a committee, so was this game. It really didn't know what it was supposed to be. To me the biggest issues were the cab and the playfield. Especially the playfield. That was bad.

Plus, if you grew up on EMs you have expectations of what an EM is supposed to be. This wasn't it.

I commend Herb and his guys. A great idea. Just foundered on the rocks of execution

Gottlieb made their own solid-state version; "Royal Flush Deluxe".

TX-Sector isn't that bad. Nailing a lit teleport when your mega level bonus is high during the countdown multiplier is much more lucrative than ripping spinners. It just needs something to incentivize playing multiball. Really, the only distinct award is collecting the extra ball. Hell, just running a 2x playfield multiplier during multiball would be a good start.
