    Quoted from Radagast:

Loved the Pingolf last year...Is anything like that happening again this year?

We will be doing the main tournament this year with qualifying in Friday and Saturday this time followed by Saturday evening finals. We will not be able to run pingolf like we did last year as per new ifpa rules we would have to include a finals for the top 8 or so and that would collide with the main event finals. I definitely encourage you to out a qualifying attempt into the main event. Top 24 will play in a head to head finals.

I should probably get this finished and bring it for freeplay.....

    Quoted from ezeltmann:

I am also a big fan of pingolf.
Not looking to make more work for you (because you guys do so much already) , but you don't HAVE to be IFPA endorsed, so you can do whatever you want. Whats to stop you from running a "top 4 finishers" Pingolf with no finals. Cut it off whenever you want. No WPPR's.
    THAT'S RIGHT, NO WPPRS!
F THE SYSTEM, SCREW THE POINTS!

Even towelie would thumbs up this post.

Very true Ed. We have extended Main event qualifying into Saturday now too which is what many people wanted. That's makes it harder to run golf as well on the side. Next year if the changes to the venue that happened after we decided on tournament details we will likely have two seperate events. One on each day and I too love the golf format.

Gofundme would of been the best solution. Pretty sure that's cool there and process is much quicker/laxed

    #225 7 years ago
    Quoted from ForceFlow:

Try gofundme.com instead--that's probably more appropriate for "personal funding" than kickstarter is.

Didn't realize you beat me to it. My post was paused while I was on a phone call

    #227 7 years ago

Thought I was first but I don't see it showing up on the campaign. Did it go through boob?

Anyone here willing to help out in bringing a tournament game? Has to be in excellent working order. And either be designed by Steve Ritchie, John Trudeau, or coded by Lyman Sheats, or have the art by John Youssi. PM me if your interested in helping us create a very fun and unique tournament bank. Just need one or two more to add to what we have.

    Quoted from mudflap:

Now This is a great poster! #waitfortheverylastminutetoprinteverything lol

Make sure we get an extra one for us to frame and put up at The Sanctum like we did last year

    #327 7 years ago

We decided to theme the tournament bank of games to be designed, coded or drawn by at least one of the speakers coming to Pintastic. Here is the tentative game bank. Subject to change, yada yada yada.

En route to pick up Mr. Trudeau. See everyone soon. Rest of the crew is just about ready to leave The Sanctum with the truck.

    Quoted from jadziedzic:

763 total plays on my Twilight Zone Thursday through Saturday. It was down for a few minutes to re-lube the rocket kicker pivot and clear up a ball hang under the mini-playfield. I didn't get counts from Addams Family or Revenge from Mars, but they seemed to be just as busy as TZ. I think I cleared a ball hang on TAF on Saturday; RFM was trouble-free the entire show.
There's probably an official game count for my Creature in the tournament room...
    Tony

138 total in qualifying attempts. Probably another 15 in finals. Then the tournament afterparty for everyone I would easily add another couple hundred. Our Ghistbusters in the tournament room logged 789 plays over the weekend. Only audit I thought to keep track of unfortunately.

Thanks again for letting us use that Tony!

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Well, I think the problem is the vendor hall was TOO quiet. Vendors want people there.
Signs throughout the show touting TBL, Spooky, and the vendors would have been a good idea and increased foot traffic in there.
It'll be a shame to lose the tournament room though. It was absolutely fantastic - a great room to play in and hang out while waiting to play, comfortable, and it kept stragglers (drunks who bust into the tournament area and just hit start) to a minimum.

Don't believe you came last year Levi but we were in the vendor hall and it was great. That whole stage area where automated had the new sterns we had the 12 game bank nicely spread out. Big area for players. Line far back to give score keepers plenty of moving room. Then even further back lines of chairs to spectate and relax. Very little problem with people making it through all that and screwing with players. Our tables were set off to the right of the stage area and had ample area to do our business. To the left we even had 9 more games setup for a pingolf side tournament. I will admit having the room to ourselves was night even if it was a bit tight but the vendor hall was a great spot for us too. Broadcasting and commentary are hopefull ideas we are looking into for next year.

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

You have to understand, I'm over 40 and fear change. But I'm willing to maintain an optimistic attitude toward this!
Really, I'll just miss the afterparty. That was so fuckin' rad, even being cornered by drunks who are still mad at me for PAPA C two years ago for some reason.

Don't worry we won't let you down. I will admit that afterparty in the tournament room was completely unexpected but like you said totally radical! We didnt gain a reputation from letting everyone down

    #959 7 years ago
    Quoted from yzfguy:

Levi....you seem to have something against drunks.

Takes one to know one I think applies here....

    Quoted from DRDAVE:

Make the cards the same size as the apron instruction card/cost to play card.

Have to have so many different sizes on hand. I've been making custom sanctum free play cards for all our games. Hard to keep track with all the different brand/eras for sizes. Some seem to be odd sized for no reason too
