Looking forward to this show. There are some other pretty interesting things to do nearby (Old Sturbridge Village comes to mind in particular).

    Quoted from shacklersrevenge:

want to buys and for sale projects and parts are okay.

I'm hoping to find an RFM for under $2400.

I'd be pretty happy if I found a flea market ball bowler or EM gun game.

Dan are you one of the event coordinators? I have searched the site for information on the seminars, but I'm not coming up with much. Do you have an agenda or calendar you can share with us? It matters, as I probably won't be able to stay for all 3 days, and I want to plan my time accordingly.

Pretty sure I got the last room.

    Quoted from lllvjr:

For anyone who's never played safe cracker before, I'll have one in my booth at the show. Most likely will disable the token mech though sorry lol

Tokens or not, I'm very pleased to hear this... I've never had a chance to play it.

If you're set up for Pachislo sized tokens, I'm willing to donate a bunch for you...

Are reservations required for the seminars?

    #346 3 years ago

Any plans for a pinsider meetup?

    Quoted from dmarston:

I'm designating 9:00 PM on Thursday, July 7th.

Dang. I won't get there until early Friday morning.

Where are my cigar aficianados at? Anybody up for an impromptu herf Friday night? I'm planning to have a cigar if it's not raining out, and I'd love some company.

    Quoted from beelzeboob:

I might be in, if you're willing to slum with lowlifes like me.

I've already got friends in low places... what harm is one more?

Where is the Rob Zombie? I didn't see it.

    #622 3 years ago

So the tournament room is open to non tournament players?

    #628 3 years ago

Thanks. I'll play them when we get back from dinner.

Still planning to have a cigar later- anybody want to join in?

Just got home a little while ago. Huge thanks to all of you who made this event possible-- it was my first show, and I had a great time. I only met one pinsider that I know of, but other than 2 of the seminars and a short break for dinner, I played from when the doors opened yesterday and was one of the last out the door at 2am... that's a lot of pinball

    Looking forward to next year!

    Quoted from yzfguy:

I wore white socks up to my knees in remembrance of you.

Were you the guy in the 2-sizes-too-small t-shirt, spandex bike shorts and knee high socks?

3 or 4 of the plays on your City Slicker were from me. Thanks for bringing it. I hadn't ever played that one before, and really enjoyed it.

    Quoted from Dooskie:

    What a great place, btw.

Indeed, though when I was there a couple of months ago, a number of their "A list" games were gone...

For $100 I had pretty low expectations for the hotel. It was acceptable.

As others have said, the mattresses were simply awful, but I complain about the mattresses in the $500 a night places too-- they are all too soft for my liking.

My only real complaint was the wifi. I understand having connectivity issues at peak hours, but I couldn't get on it at 2am either. I ended up having to hotspot myself to cover a few emails from work that couldn't wait.

    Quoted from DadofTwins:

Other then that, the pool closing at 9 had my kids down but that's not the show rules.

There were still people in the pool at midnight.

To add to the comments I made in #249-- there is something else... the bathrooms were not serviced after late afternoon. By the end of the night, the bathroom outside the free play room was pretty bad.

    Quoted from LTG:

You still have the lake across the street. Eliminate the pool might not help.
    LTG : )

I thought that was the leach field for the septic system. Or at least that's what it smelled like.

    Quoted from dannunz:

Come on man it's a freash water lake. This is Sturbridge were in the country. Why do people always have to emphasis on the few negative things when so many other things were so great. Be happy we have a show that is growing in New England. It's takes 1000's of hours to put on a show like this.

Dan-- I was just messing around. The lake was a little more... uhhh... odoriferous than most bodies of water, but I wasn't there to swim in the lake in the first place.

    Quoted from dendoc:

No one has mentioned the bugs in the rooms yet - had them crawling in the suitcase too.

I'm always alert to the presence of bugs, and I didn't see a single one in my room.
