    Interesting. Dennis provides a reasonable voice. He provided a perspective that I had not considered.

    This podcast has led me to question:
    - Do we need a hobby-wide revolt against pinball prices?
    - What does the community expect or need from its members?
    - Should we return our latest purchases?
    - Perhaps we should present our purchasing intentions for approval in a peer review?

    It's likely that I'm out-of-touch with the bigger picture. Perhaps a thread is available that outlines this movement and provides a quick resource for the community.

    Quoted from RandomTask:

    Ahoy! Working on Ep 6 - Steve Ritchie: The Mullet Years. We're looking for a few comments, thoughts, memories or the emotions you had on the following: T2, No Fear, Dwight Sullivan, Larry DeMar, Black Knight 2k, Rollergames, DMD, The Getaway, System 11s, dying 90's arcades.

    My Getaway story;

    In 1996 we traveled to West Bend, Wisconsin for a wedding. After the wedding, at the hotel, I was combing the hallways in search of ice and vending machines. Walking past an open doorway, I peeked in and caught a glimpse of 'the' Getaway. As a car guy, I stopped, backed-up and walked into the room for a closer look. Whoooaaa. Police Chase!, Street Light!, and Supercharger! I gotta play this! Wait-a-minute, fifty-cents? Two fricken' quarters! I only played 2 credits.

    Back home, that game was on my mind. Something about the game-play, shifting gears, supercharger and running from the cops. Jeez, it was such a cool game. I dreamed about buying the pin from the hotel. I remember calling our local arcade. It sounded like something could work out, but every time I visited; the guy I needed wasn't there. I dropped the project.

    Over two decades later; a Getaway pops up for sale and its located 3 blocks from where I'm employed. Whaaat! I'm on top of this one. I bringing this one home! It played and I paid. The previous owner is a great guy too. I actually felt like a loose-end in my life had been resolved. I'm very thankful Steve created this game and even luckier to have one.

    It's inspiring to hear Eric say that GNR has spurred other big-names to contact them. Imagine having a business where the licenses are chasing you to use their name. Truly remarkable.

    I experience the reboot on Star Wars too. It never locks, but provides a very loud squelch on its way out. It actually cooked the voice-coil in an aftermarket subwoofer. I suspect the sound is connected to having installed a topper.

    My Patreon is currently over $50 a month. When I add in the shirts, mugs, models, stickers and whatever else, it's well over $1000 annually. Patreon is like having grandkids; I'm providing support to those whom I believe in and the expectation is that it will assist them to do well in their endeavors. The joy comes from experiencing their tribes and tribulations while having the opportunity of sharing my own.
