As we all know by now, The Pinball Arcade is going to be getting rid of their Bally & Williams games due to their license expiring on those games. Now in my opinion, digital pinball just doesn't compare to the real thing, but what TPA did so well was explain how to play each game. All titles come with very detailed instructions on how to play each game, and how many points each target or mode scores. If TPA has to stop publishing these titles, we are going to lose out on all of these nice instructions. I was playing NGG last night, but was a bit confused on certain scoring for certain things. I went to reference TPA because I know they will be able to explain all the scoring features. But again, if they get rid of these games, we will no longer have that to reference anymore.

So far I have grabbed a shot of each instruction for NGG and compiled them in Google Photos. I will paste a shared link to other albums as well for everyone to reference. I'm not sure what the best way to share each game and it's instructions but at least this might be a start. Maybe there is a better website for photo sharing, or some place we can keep all these games and their instructions nicely organized.

Very cool; I know that is one of the things I have appreciated from TPA; they did manage to do a great job on their tutorials.

I think some were so long as to be off-putting for most people (e.g. Stern's Star Trek was approaching 1000 slides, crazy!), but they were pretty comprehensive and did a good job showing as well as telling.

Would it be easier/quicker to do a video of the tutorials? You can always pause the video and you wouldn't have to upload hundreds of photos, in order, for each game.

There are YouTube videos out there but not for every game. It's kind of what prompted me to do the Gofers one in the first place.

I think mjalexan means take a video of you flipping through all the slides of the PA instructions so you don't have to take thousands of screenshots and store them somewhere. You'll have to store the video instead and it could be subject to copyright takedown notices.

Not everyone is losing access to them either, if you own the tables you can keep them. The instructions are my favorite part of PA, thank you for taking the initiative to save them.

In all honesty I really just wanted to preserve these rules and instructions for myself, but figured why not upload these for other people to use and enjoy. I'm working on Whirlwind right now and will hopefully have that up soon.

I don't own any of these games on TPA, I don't like digital pinball as much as the real thing, so this is my way of preserving them for their valuable instructions.

Great idea! I look up rules sometimes. How else would one know that bumpers and slings on Getaway score a random value between 10 and 9,900 points?

I was under the impression that if you've purchased the games, you will have them as long as you want them. It's only the free trials we lose, right?

Yes if you purchased them you keep them. But I have not purchased these games and I still want to be able to reference their instructions.

Did anyone happen to get the Indianapolis 500 instructions? Looking for information on building the Turbo Boost jackpots.

I probably didn't get them in order, but I honor the work that has gone before and the quest for truth. Here is Turbo Boost from Indianapolis 500

I could possibly work on the entire rule set for Indy 500 if you want.

Or if there are any other requests for any other game(s), let me know.

Probably not worth the effort Bugsy. There is a rules document at http://www.pinball.org/rules/indianapolis500.html but parts of it are cut off.
