Sorry to say that another pinball lover has moved on. Joe Fela from South Plainfield NJ has passed at 76 years old. He was a die hard pinball collector that like most of us had more machines then he would ever get to. He had a massed around 170 machines in his collection, From 1953 threw 2015. He had to sell a bunch to cover his living expenses over the last few years, mostly the more expensive digital's. Still can't believe he got 6 grand for his Joust! He was feeling weak and went to the hospital for some test and 8 days later was gone. Wanted to let the people that remember him know, as he could not make the Allentown or York show for at least the last 8 years. His size and legs could not do it anymore. He told me when I first met him in 1992 that he bought his first machine around 1982 , High Hand. Like all of us he had plenty of story's of machine he should NOT have bought and the ones he wish he did! That second one we all have a story to tell. I have at least 5 machine's I wish I did not walk away from RIP Joe, I hope they DO have that perfect Gameroom in the sky!

Father Time waits for no man. While always sad to hear of one's passing, it is wonderful that we touch other's lives and create meaningful memories.

RIP Joe, may we learn from your mistakes as well as our own. And may we emulate your positive traits that show us a better way.

Mike,
Sorry to hear about Joe. He is another collector I will always remember in this great hobby. He for sure was someone who loved and cared for the games for most of his lifetime.

Rest in peace Joe.

Known Joe for a long time. What's more incredible than having probably the biggest private collection in NJ was his knowledge of game play and game rules. Although he owned plenty of solid state machines his heart belong to electro mechanicals. Will miss his conversations and proud to own five titles from his collection. RIP Joe.

Played Joe’s Joust with Paul D a few years back and had a blast. Hung out with Joe and talked pinball for a while. Just remembered him being a super nice guy that knew everything about pinballs past to present. He will be missed.

Sorry to hear that another collector is not with us anymore; I didn't know him that long or as well as others but always enjoy talking pinball to a fellow collectors.

I am very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I delivered many games to him in the late 90's. He also bought my "customized" Williams Big Deal. He was always very friendly to me. RIP friend.

Gene Harmon photo bomb!! lol

Thanks Pete...after listening to you guys tell what seemed like hundreds of stories, I finally can put the name with the face. He was a good guy...I remember chatting with him at the earlier shows I went to in the aughts...

I almost missed this post, Mike. Thanks for the info, and I know you were close to him. One of the most interesting days of my entire life occurred when I delivered two pins to Joe's place. You were there ! I had seen many large collections, but had never entered a home that was essentially all pinball machines. Also purchased a Gottlieb Liberty Belle from Joe back in the late 90's. A nice man - always interesting pinball conversations.

Dr Dude $2300 2/27/1922. Dang! That's some odd inflation.
