Yep, I have had this issue with the node 10, à chipset burned see the pictures, I was obliged to replace it and the power board distribution too, I was unlucky, during the test, it burned.
So I recommande you to switch off your pinball and check the board if you don’t want to burn your power board like me, but I’m sure that is the same problem as me sorry.
Stern distributes a kit to prevent that, It’s just a ferrite, ask you seller or contacte Stern for it.

Quoted from PinMonk:

This is great information. My LE came with the ferrite already, so they may have not had it early in the run.

My pleasure, for information my LE number is the 538, so please check you premium and LE if you have this ferrite installed, to prevent this issue with the node 10, if not, ask your dealer or stern.

Quoted from RobCraig:

I've not posted anything about this particular game until now. I've owned my pro for about 6 weeks and played it almost every day since for at least 30 minutes to an hour. An occasional game on Iron Maiden, then back to more Rush. Since I'm a sincere Rush fan, I had to have this game! This is the 11th Borg layout in the past 22 years in my collection. I'm wondering if you all can help me figure out if I'm crazy.
Those higher scoring games are fun and I know I can shoot the game occasionally. That freekin' scoop kills me when I hit it 25 times in a single game, yet can't hardly make a skill shot or a 1 in 5 ramp shot. Is anyone else in this funk about the layout ?

HI, for me It’s the opposite, I love this game, after a Terminator 3, the Munsters, the mandalorian, this game drive me crazy but in a good way. I love the ball circulation, light effects with the LE, It requires a can of precision to get the ramp of course but It’s doable, the multi balls session are insane, this is the first time that I can hold a ball more than 5 minutes and have fun with it, of course sometimes it is frustrating but compered to a other pin that I’ve tested, this is the first who I play with a big smile and you can score with 3 balls and some extra

Quoted from Animal:

Upon further inspection I saw no signs of burning on the coil, Node 10 ( I think that is the board for the coils?) at the bottom of the flipped up play field or with any of the wiring. Anyone have any idea what may have been effected other than my pride?

Oh no, I'm sorry for you
Nope, the node 10 is for the drum clock and the time machine ramp, for the prem and LE. I suggest you to have a look at the node 8 or 9.

On one of the multiballs (cant recall which one) my whole playfield goes dark except for a handful fo lights during the multiball and then come back on. Is that by design (i hope)?

Quoted from J-drum11:

Had something different happen.
I installed new updated Scoop
switch today
Played the bunch of games.
Everything works fine.
I stopped playing and left my machine on then all of a sudden it chirped and did an automatic update.
I was hoping it was another new update but what I did was reinstall 93 again Which I already had installed when it first came out
Does anybody know why this happened?
Is it because I install the new Scoop switch?

Nop there is no relation between hardware and software, have you done the latest update, the 0,93 available on April 20, 2022 ?

Quoted from Mookie:

Is anyone having trouble with the side and main scoop registering & ejecting balls properly?
My game is not ejecting balls many times and not getting the mystery dice roll when lit and hit in the main scoop.
Killing the fun and ending games like a stepping on a landmine situation here.

Yep, same for me, but just received the fixed kit from my distributor, ask yours at your seller or stern directly.

I did not replace scoop protector with stern’s. I’m keeping the ninja protector installed . Everything works great now

Same for me, but it was free, got it for extra hardware . You’re welcome Mookie.

Quoted from Mookie:

Very good, I have ninja also ..love it .
So it not something i did installing the ninja protectors ..it is another part of the scoop dilemma and an ez fix ?....not like the scoop ,12 nuts n screws installing the ninjascoops ... This is great news for a rookie owner (me) . Yes or No? I just need Stern to send out the scoop switch.. And snip plug n play? No videos on youtube.
Of this repair yet.

Nop it’s not really complicated, just follow the instructions, you don’t need to send back the old switch, here is the link for the video….

Quoted from J-drum11:

Inner loop switch.
Tried a couple fixes so far and still not 100%
I read awhile ago about A magnetic reed switch. Did this work?
Is anybody come up with a fix for 100% register yet?

Just received my MRS it will be coupled wit the ninja fix and see if it’s close to 100%, but for sure it would be better than stock…

#5664 1 year ago
Quoted from J-drum11:

I have the ninja also added plexiglass piece over top. Still nothing
Even tried bending rollover wire on switch
And can’t seem to make it happen
I just ordered furniture felt
Is there a setting somewhere to make the switch register quicker?

The thing with this inner loop switch, is when the ball goes super fast the switch does’t have the time to register it’s mechanical, I have had the same issue with my Mando but not as much as the Rush, for me, and I will confirm later, is the MRS solution, I will instal it this WE and see what’s happen. But with a mechanical switch your are limited and no more solution to solve this I’m afraid.

#5712 1 year ago
Quoted from kmad:

I have done two different things both of which worked. First I use the felt pad fix and that seem to make me register 100%. The problem with that is the felt does not stay attached forever and you have to keep pressing it back on. The felt will detach from the glue leaving the glue behind. I bought the ninja camp fix that clips on the little rail on the bottom of the loop. I didn’t think it would work after installing it but I used both for a while. It continued to register accurately. I recently pulled the felt off and the ninja fixed seems to be working 100% of the time by itself

HI, I’m interesting to see that, do you have a picture of your installation ? Thanks

#5717 1 year ago
Quoted from kmad:

Here’s a link to the ninja camp mod although it says they’re sold out currently. It’s really hard to see in the pictures how it works. Here’s a picture of mine if it helps
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1326-ninjacamp-mods/06740-rush-inner-loop-corrector
[quoted image]

Thanks Kmad, I see now, I have the ninja fix, and just finished and tested the couple, ninja + M&M MRS, works awesome but not 100% but close, I will be curious if I complete with a pad in the metallic inner loop guide.

Quoted from John-Floyd:

Here’s a pic of the ninja mod “felt” replacement they sent me. I trimmed it down a bunch and I’m now getting 100% registered shots using the original stern switch. I also have the other ninja mod guide as well, but it is this item that does the trick in my situation. I needed something that would help keep the ball lower as it flies around the bend. Very pleased to put this issue to bed.
[quoted image]

Cool, happy to hear that, I will ask them to have one on my next order (scoop sleeves)

#5721 1 year ago
Quoted from usafstars:

Wonder if you rotated the MRS 180 degrees moving the sensor a bit more from the corner if that would help with registering? Thinking this might be enough if the ball is actually airborne as it comes around that corner, possibly catching it be as it starts settling down.

Oh ok, I see what you mean, I will test it if it make a change, thanks. I did it just to reuse the existing hole and not drill a new one.

Quoted from ramsfan:

Hi All, I will be setting up a NIB Rush LE for a friend (his first pin!) tonight, and would like to know what steps to go through on Day One. For reference, it was a fairly early game, but not sure what scoop protector it shipped with, as I left it in box. Cliffy's have been ordered, but have not arrived yet, and I have the two boxes from Stern that were recently shipped out, one is a Scoop Protector and Edge Guard, the other is a Trough Kit.
Here are things I am aware, of, but please feel free to add/edit, etc...
1) I need to install latest code, 0.93 is on my laptop now, and I will transfer to USB for install.
2) What does I need to do related to scoop protector? Do I need to assess what is on there, or switch it to the one that Stern shipped out?
3) Is the replacement trough kit a must change for Day One play?
4) What settings are "must change" to game protection, proper play, etc..?
Anyting else?
Thanks all!!!!

And there is a third stern fixe, a ferrite bead to protect the node 10 if it’s not factory installed, ask for it.

#5760 1 year ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

I think it was fixed before the domestic ones were made. I had an early LE and it was already done. So maybe just the initial run of pros for domestic and the overseas ones need to check.
EDIT: Scratch the Pros. They don't have the ramp that uses the stepper motor. So this service bulletin is likely confined to overseas LEs built first.

Not sure, but this is what I’ve said, only Prem/LE , and mine is a LE number 538, so it was just to remind day one users to check this, just in case …

#5818 1 year ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Check the wireform for burrs. It shouldn't be hopping off there, even on a fast ball. It's not uncommon for stern to ship a pin with burrs or bumps in the wireform welds that cause the ball to hop. If you find that, it's a warranty issue and you won't need the arch.

Nop, it’s not a burrs problem in this case, I have had the same issue, when the ball goes fast at the end of the plastic ramp it does like a Springboard and the ball bounce, kick the VUK ramp and felt…to avoid that I’ve reduced the flipp power and now it’s rare…but this solution are really Ingenious, well done

#5819 1 year ago

Oups I did it again

#5827 1 year ago
Quoted from upsfeedr:

Anyone know if Cliffy is taking orders emailed him twice no response

Hi, yep it’s normal just be patient, Cliff are really busy and responding after a few day’s, this is my second order with him and alway’s the best….

#5828 1 year ago
Quoted from NJDevils30:

After trying with the arch on and off and looking at the video it really seems like it is just going too fast to make the turn on the wireform.
Made a video of a couple shots with and without it. You can see the one is so bad it jumps right off and straight past the outlane. Once the arch is added it forces it down and the return is smooth to the left flipper. It does slow the ball somewhat but its not really enough to be an issue.

Awesome video, If I can give you some advice, for your arch, if you can do the entry like a cone it will guide the ball smoothly in the center to prevent it from hitting the angle of the arch.

Quoted from NJDevils30:

I have just had Node 10 fail on my premium. Middle of a game noticed the ramp was not going up. Shut the game off and noticed similar issue others have reported. Reached out to stern for help. Not sure what the cause is, this is essentially a bone stock game and is a newer build from 4/26. It does not have the ferrite from the factory, instead there is some sort of expansion board plugged into CN5.[quoted image]

I’m sorry hear that, as I can read It’s not a urban legend about nod 10 who stop functioning.

#6030 1 year ago
Quoted from NJDevils30:

Haha yeah, wish it was an urban legend. Frustrating for sure given what they are charging for a game now. Will just have to be patient and see what stern says.

for sure you must be patient with stern, my seller still waiting for his node for one month now. Considering their latest flooding issues, it's not going to fix the extra delays

#6031 1 year ago
Quoted from H3XAG0N:

Hey all. I received my Premium 4 days ago! Woohoo! I've gotten about 15 or 20 games in and was loving it...until yesterday when I booted up the game and was greeted with a Node 8 Missing error. If I go into the diagnostics menu, it says it's not responding. All the other nodes say no error. I've checked that everything is plugged in (it seems to be, to my newbie eyes), and I've reseated all the connections on 8 board with the exception of the larger power connector. I haven't yet swapped the 8 board with the 9 board, as I wanted to try all the "easy" stuff first. Does anyone have any ideas of easy things to check?

First of all verify all the power status led, it would be the first clue if your node are powered or not.

#6041 1 year ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

You could try PM'ing Borygard about your broken node10 and see if he thinks he can fix it. If he can, maybe it will come back before stern's replacement.

Thanks, it’s good to know

#6043 1 year ago
Quoted from H3XAG0N:

All 3 LEDs on the board light up just like on node 9. The yellow status one even blinks rapidly when I do the node test, just like 9, but it still says no response.

Ok, if it’s blinks, is that the node communicate with others, so It’s not a prob with the rj45 cable, try to maneuver the on/off switch’s from the DIP, just one return of each, sometimes with the vibration, it’s rare, but they may have changed there positions, it’s not visible but it can happen. After that if it’s not working, there is a issue with one or more components of your node sorry.

#6107 1 year ago
Quoted from orangedude71:

I suspect I have a mode board on the way out myself. Yesterday several instances of the ramp being up but the magnet not on. Additionally 20 seconds or so the lower playfield GI lights went dark. I don’t have enough play time with machine yet to know if that’s just a bug or a feature or an actual problem but I’ll be keeping my eye on it from now

Ok I’m not the only one, for me after a few hours of play, my magnet stop working too, but I hope that is normal, I think there is a over heat protection, because after touching the magnet it’s very hot, then after many minutes it cool down and re works.

#6287 1 year ago
Quoted from erockyoulikea:

I just installed the Stern replacement switch for the scoop and I'm also getting the Operator Alert! Side Scoop Device Malfunction message. Everything worked fine when I ran through the test as show in the Stern video. but after I tightened the new screw for the bracket and put the playfield back together I got the error. I noticed when running through scoop diagnostics, the test is indicating it sees both balls yet "locked balls" only shows 1. Any ideas? Anyone else with an LE install this and not have much room to screw down the bracket (new hole you have to make)?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Hi, ok I see, may be it’s a problem with the opto cable underneath the bracket, I have seen that the cable where near the bracket and it can cause a short, so take care that the cable of this opto are well positioned and tightened the screw, or use a electrician tape around the bracket to secure it.

Need Help! Left ramp not registering when hit. Example, lit for #2 in the 1, 2,3 combo. Hit the ramp and it does not recognize, #2 continues to flash. Anyone else seeing this problem?

It’s normal and not, sometimes when the Ball rolling slowly in the ramp and the diverter push the ball on the right ramp, they miss the registration of it. There is a maximum Time for registration that’s all, no hardware issue just a running ball delay

Quoted from Chazulli:Ok. I had previously insalled the replacement switch, but it never detected the ball in the scoop, so I put the original back in.
How did you adjust the new switch to make sure it functions correctly? Is there an alignment point? Just make sure that the switch is far enough into the subway?

Ok, I have had the same issue with the remplacement switch and I can tell you that you have a faulty new switch
Yes it’s possible, Chinese crap, the switch that you have are to hard and the ball bounces back, the correct switch is really really soft, there is no clue for you, I did the same, placed in any positions, bend it, no issue, Get it back to my reseller, give me a new one and oh miracle, It worked the first time.

The magnets shut off when the get too hot as a protection. This happened with GZ and Stern did a software update which fixed it.

Agree, I hope stern will considering to apply a fix for us too, cross fingers

Quoted from wtatumjr:

Yes, lowering the setting would make the magnet slower to heat up

Yep, did the same, but only increase the play time, but not resolve it..

Quoted from wiggy07:

possibly makes the magnet not run so hot or try to turn it on and off when needed?
I don't really know what kind of fix I can put in place to resolve the issue.

Yep you right, this is the only solution at this time for me and for others

Quoted from ian866:

Fred, try removing the cover from the replacement lamp mod, that could be stopping it from venting the heat from the time machine housing ?

Thanks Ian, Not sure that it will resolve the prob, it started long time before modding the Time Machine

Wow bad bad burn, I’m really upset to see that still happen and with the ferrite installed, so why it happens and how, what’s going on with this chipset ????
I see that is the lottery and only few reported this issue

Quoted from Apollo18:

Could someone please share a complete picture showing where this is supposed to go.
Mine arrived with that open and unattached at the bottom of the cabin. Have been wondering where that goes since.
Which wires is it supposed to “clasp” ?

Quoted from ian866:

Fred, Is this the first acknowledged report of a board failure on a pin with the ferrite installed that you are aware of ?

Yep my friend and it’s a bad surprise , it ask me the question if this ferrite prevent this issue and I can answer a big NO….

Quoted from ian866:

Did you have the issue on 0.97 or has it just started since the update to 0.98 ?
No-one else appears to be reporting anything which is odd if it's a bug.

HI Ian, Mine was worked nicely well before the 0.98 update, since that, it’s completely crazy, sometimes the clock stop Throughout the game, if I reboot the pin, it move again, sometimes the clock hand move randomly without any sense

Quoted from Ollulanus:

You just described far cry multiball, not freewill.
For freewill, you have to collect all instruments - before any drops are hit, they will cycle by flashing. Whichever is flashing when you hit the first drop locks I'm for that set; finish all three drops then hit any major shot to collect. Rinse and repeat for the other instruments - but note you can lock in instruments that are already collected (it still cycles through collected ones prior to hitting the first target).
When you finish the bank on the third instrument, all the instruments will flash rapidly - hit the lane behind the base then to start freewill.
I'm guessing you either haven't collected all three I instruments (really easy to wind up locking prior collected ones by accident), or maybe you've got a glitch...imo freewill is the only one that rarely gets triggered unless you aim for it, so likely the former, but if you think it's not working right take the glass off and trigger the full sequence to check.

Oups sorry, you right, tired today

Quoted from Bill2112Rush:

Anybody else having this issue with the left ramp?
Over the last 30-40 plays, balls shot up the left ramp toward the Super Jackpot were getting airborne, hitting the SJ light, even landing in the left orbit lane. Then I saw this:
[quoted image][quoted image]
It almost looks like an adhesive is used to hold that piece of thin sheet metal in place and it’s coming unglued. Or, repeated shots up the ramp have bent it out of shape. Maybe both.
Either way, I’m curious if this is happening to others and what’s the correct way to fix it.

Hi all for those who have this issue with your left ramp flap, here is a simple méthode to eliminate it and get your 100% left ramp shoot.
Remove your center ramp, Unscrew in A, follow the yellow arrow in 1 to remove the ramp and to have access to the flap.
Then use your thumb and bend it really gently by following the red arrow and the red line in 2 one time and verify, if the result suits you, if not repeat it until you arrive à this result, see the pictures below. Beware, do not force, go little by little.

Quoted from Ghosters:

Anyone still seeing clock issues after the 1.0 upgrade. I was hoping they would resolve the issue with the new code. Clock randomly stops. If you reboot the pin it then works again for a while.

Yep, same for me, no change

Quoted from Big_Whoopin:

They do exist. Mezel Mods (Tmezel) has them, I think they're the manufacturer. https://mezelmods.com/products/clip-protector-set-rush-pinball (In EU pick up through Pinball Universe, pu-parts.com) Only available in florescent yellow though and at the moment out of stock for prem/LE. I think I would have preferred clear but I'll admit I haven't gotten them installed yet. Like so many of these small vendors Mezel does have great customer service, if they've got anything you're interested in I'd highly recommend buying from them!

Quoted from hiker2099:

Oh cool I didn't know they did that for the whole playfield. I wonder if they do it for other games too?

Yep, I bought it from PU part and here is the result…..I really love it
