Finally got my premium! Home and set up and loving it! Couldn't be happier.

Question though.... since this is my first even NIB game, was wondering...….. Has Stern stopped doing the extra plastics and key fobs in the goodie bag? Or did they forget mine?

In my game in the stapled bag, there is just a manual and a QR code decal. Nothing else.

Just curious.

Quoted from etr104:

The other thing I noticed is that the left flipper button seems to intermittently be "clicky" when pushing the button, hard to describe, but it almost feels like a burr on the plastic button as it slides through the insert. Again, I won't have time to actually open the game up to see whats happening until later, but is this normal/common? Is this just a burr that will eventually work/smooth itself out?

Funny you say that…my left button is doing the same thing. But since I plan on replacing the buttons with a different color soon I have just been ignoring it.

Quoted from VisitorQ:

Is it just me or are there others who don't have any issues with the loop reg. shots?

Funny thing is..... mine worked perfectly for the first 2 weeks...... until i read about people having issues with theirs. And now mine skips scoring about 2 out of 10 times. Mostly on a perfectly shot super fast shot into it.

Quoted from Photopin:

Just curious, has anyone had issues with the Time Machine modes starting when the ball doesn't make it into the time machine? I've had this happen several times since the latest update. The mode will start when the ball only goes partially up the ramp and sometimes when it just hits the front of the ramp. Anybody else seen this?

Ive had this happen a few times. Seems like the Time Machine gives credit for just breaking the optos and not actually landing in the magnet.

Has anyone gotten the Big Money 10x jackpot achievement yet? And if so……HOW??

I have 82/88 done so far, and that’s one of the last few I need and can’t figure it out.

The best I’ve gotten so far is up to 8x, but then the arrows don’t light up anymore to get the last 2 multipliers.

Quoted from CrashJT:

What can this strange device be that I've found, when I touch it, it gives forth NO sound...
While examining the bottom of Rush, I found these. The little screw looks like the ones holding the ramp bumpers on, but all four are already there. The other thing "seems" like an LED on one side, but has 6 solder pads on the other side???? (Next to a "Magic Dime " for size comparison.) Any ideas what/ where these are???? Thank you!
[quoted image][quoted image]

I had a screw that looked exactly like that fall out of the entrance to the time machine ramp.

Completed all the songs, played all multiballs, finished book 1, then finished book 2…. I’m on year 2110, ball 3……… I go to shoot the time machine and it rattles the entrance comes back sling sling outlane……………. I just stand there with my head in shame

So….. got my game in July. Have just under 450 plays on it….and yesterday I noticed seeing little clear flakes on the playfield.
So I started searching and noticed the VUK.
Anyone else having their clear coat chip away on their premiums around the VUK?
Can’t say I’m happy about this at all.
*Also found a very small chip where the ball drops into the left inlane.

Holy Cow!
I don't see the chip on the roll over switch but that VUK looks hammered!
I would clean that area up good and hit it with some "hard as nails" and then install the VUK from NC.

The chip on the inlane is very small and hard to see, but it’s def starting. And I’m sure will grow over time.

Quoted from orangedude71:

there was something in the newest software update that addressed something on the clock.

Im assuming the "clock fix" was to take care of the issue I was having, since its been working 100% ever since I updated.

My clock was sometimes have issues where it would not initialize. It would just stay at 12:00 the entire game no matter what, until you rebooted the game. Happened about 40-50% of the time.

#9878 1 year ago

So over the weekend I was able to finally get to 2112. But I only made it through "presentation". The game awarded me the 4 "achievements" during the game and after the ball.... but its not showing up on the insider app or website.

Anyone else have that issue?

#9881 1 year ago
Quoted from pete_d:

There are two different issues. Impossible to say, but if the clock minute hand stopped moving right after the update, you are probably not dealing with a problem with the board. On the other hand, the software problem is transient and usually resolves if you turn the machine off and back on again. If you do that and then still see the minute hand not working, then maybe you do have a problem with the board.
So, first step is to figure out which problem you're dealing with.

Ive had this same problem with all the revisions. Only way I can get the clock to work again is to reboot the game. Only happens to me though about once every 10-12 power ups.

Version 1.00 seemed to lesson the occurrence.

#9904 1 year ago

Ordered the PinDefender shooter lane protector from Pinhead mods on here (pinside). Wanted to share the pics of how well the purple goes with the colors on the game.

Product works great too. And was an easy 5 minute install. Not bad for $15.00.

Quoted from snaroff:

That mod looks awful and I imagine also changes the ball/shooter feel. For years, I've used self-adhesive laminating sheets (amazon.com link ») and my shooter lanes have remained pristine.

I have to disagree on the looks of it. In person it goes very well with the colors. And honestly it works great. And actually it doesnt change the launch at all. It even quiets down the ball eject some.

Sorry you dont like it, but hey, to each his own.

#9945 1 year ago
Quoted from northvibe:

how are hang ups of the ball rolling back down the shooter lane super slow?

I have played maybe 20 games on it so far after in stalling and have not had a single hang up. I even tried to purposely plunge as short as possible and could not get it to get stuck.

#9948 1 year ago
Quoted from northvibe:

awesome. order is in. if it works well, i'll throw them on the other route games

#10002 1 year ago

I'm starting to notice a lot of my Stern factory LED bulbs are beginning to fail already, or are literally falling apart.

Others having this issue? What brand do they use? I doubt its Comet. I use them for all my other games and never have issues.

Also...... Has anyone replaced the Red and Blue LEDs in the GI with White? I have considered it. The red and blue just doesn't make sense to me, plus the effect is not that impressive.

#10004 1 year ago
Quoted from parsonsaj:

Funny you should mention that... I just had the dome pop off a blue bulb under the left sling the other day... and that little sucker got stuck right behind the kicker for the slingshot, which caused it to abruptly stop working. Never had a dome pop off a bulb before, even in a Stern game. I just left it uncovered for now and will replace with a Comet next time I have the glass off (didn't have any spare blue bulbs when it happened).

I have had 2 blues go bad. 2 whites are starting to flicker. 1 Red out. And when I installed my Dice mods for the scoops... one of the green LEDs had the dome pull off right in my hand.

Stern LEDs are about as useful as their rubber rings. Which for the record.... I have my right sling rubber about to break after 500 plays.

#10048 1 year ago
Quoted from Tilt:

Guys,
Just to be clear, do not do anything as far as connectors with node board 10 with the game on. If you disconnect anything from the board with power on, you will blow the board up. there is a sticker that says this, but its kind of hid behind the wiring.
The main thing that i have seen is that a wire in the molex plug for the ramp was not "clicked" all the way in, so it would cause a quick interruption in power, and take out the node 10 board. Sadly, it took a couple node 10 boards to find this problem. But luckily, i have a few connections to get a replacement, lol. We actually used my game to come up with some solutions. 9 out 10 times, the issue will be a power interruption.
also, I had quite a few rush premiums have this same problem, and the games have been running great after this wire was fixed. and I have not had a single customer in the past 2 months have a problem with any from the last build. Hope this helps you guys out

You da Man Troy!

I want to check the wires and connectors on my Node board...... but honestly....with all the others failing, im afraid to even look at it LOL.

Quoted from pete_d:

One philosophy uses a clear plastic mounted over the ball lane to hold the ball down. You can cut the plastic yourself, or buy the parts from Pinside markets (e.g. https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1167-gameroom-mods/07010-rush-upper-orbit-ball-retention-plastic,

I just installed this piece last weekend. Have about 20-30 games on it and have not had 1 shot that was not detected. Works better than expected. AND.... it looks like a factory piece and almost invisible.

#10381 1 year ago

New software bug......? Anyone else having this issue?

So.... ever since I updated to 1.01, when I first power up the game after being off for a while (the night before up to a day or so) the game will not let me go into the "Home Team" screen from the left flipper button.
I have to power the game down, power back up, and then once its fully booted..... it goes straight to the Insider connect screen on its own. Then i hold the left button and all is normal.

Also the last time it wouldn't let me log in, I went into the service menu and checked my Insider connects connection and it said unavailable and would not let me do a connection test.

Anyone else? This has happened at least 4 times now since updating.

#10386 1 year ago
Quoted from jid:

I have always found that I have to wait a few seconds (10ish) for the wifi to connect so that home team OR the QR scanner will work. If you scan a QR right away it says ‘not online’ yet. But if I wait a moment it will come online.

My issue is happening still even 20-30 minutes after i booted up the game.

This was answered in one of the making-of videos. They (Stern) didn't want more than one instrumental, and picked La Villa Strangiato over YYZ. Nobody forgot about YYZ, it just didn't make the cut.
I think the perfect place to play YYZ would be at the high-score enter-initials screen. The punch of that intro would be the perfect thing to cap off a big game.

I believe Borg said in an interview that it was actually Geddy and Alex that chose La Villa over YYZ.

Is it a pro or premium? Not sure if the extra switches in a premium scoop mech could make a difference. Magnetized balls can cause all kinds of weirdness. Did you verify they are magnetized?

I have ALL KINDS of magnetized issues in my game. In the scoop, the trough, and even sometimes 2 balls will come to a stop in the inlanes because they are "stuck" to the rail.

I would say it takes at least an hour to reach 2112. Since the last update you can progress by 10 years in the time machine by obtaining 80,000,000 when you complete a mode. Before, you had to get 100,000,000.
So I would say it seems a little less difficult although since the last code I haven't turned on 2112 yet

But with the scoring tweaks on the last couple updates …. It feels like 80 mill is almost as difficult as 100 mill was.

A little off topic- I'm currently rereading these two classics from Neil. This time I'm reading them in the correct order chronologically. Two amazing introspective journeys, one of discovery and one of recovery. One by bicycle and one by motorcycle. If you've never read them they are highly recommended.

I've finally joined the club with a Premium. First played one of these at the NW Pinball and Arcade Show last year, but it took some time financially and the right opportunity. There's something really special about this game, I can't stop playing it. I've been playing pinball since 1980 and I am obsessed with this game like no other, even Godzilla doesn't get as many plays in my collection as Rush does. It came with the topper, several mods and 1600+ plays. I'm a little concerned about the scoops and chipping around one of the inlane switches. I'll be giving NinjaCamp a large order soon. I'm going to try to get expression lighting, currently there are mirror blades installed which look great too.

Quoted from aamauzy:

The only tweak I'd suggest on Bill2112Rush 's excellent guide above is that it may be easier to line up the rigging on the art blades with the rigging on the lights if you install the art blades after the lights are in place.
The channels in the cabinet that the lights fit into don't allow for much fine adjustment, whereas there's plenty of room for adjustment on the art blades. I've seen a couple comments about the rigging not lining up between the blades and the lights - I installed lights THEN the art and it lines up perfectly on mine. It's actually damn near seamless.

That’s how I did mine. Sooooooooo much easier to line up the art.

FYI for those curious about the NinjaCamp lane protectors, this is the condition on a set installed in the right lanes of an in-arcade game. Installed July-ish of 2022, game currently has 4000+ plays. Unsure how many were before vs after install of the protectors but I would say easily 50% or more, and plays as of recent have been by a few of the regulars that often get to mini wizard modes, if not the 2112 mode itself. These are getting plenty of use. I haven't been bothered by slow rolling but occasionally a ball can hang on the top of the protector. A gentle nudge up pretty much always frees it.

I have a set on mine. Have about 1000 plays on them. Never had an issue. Love the way they look.
Thinking of getting some more for my other machines.

Quoted from Groo:

the left will trigger for a few games. Just when I think it's good, it fails.

So….. you are saying that the target is dropping, but not registering and/or resetting?

Have you cleaned the optos?

Found my problem. Orange isn’t locked in. [quoted image]

That was actually going to be my very next suggestion. Especially with the history of manufacturing and the connectors on this game.

What are the factory outlane post positions?
Bought used with the posts set to easiest for both left and right.

I think mine were in the middle position out of the box.

I replaced all my rubbers with Purple on my premium. I love it, but have to admit.....im really digging the Gray you did with yours.

Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

All you guys are crazy. I never replace perfectly good rubber just to change the color. When it is time to change them, I may switch it up.

Because they factory rubber sucks! And breaks down too fast and gets that black shit all over the game.

Quoted from Vespula:

I like them too... but I have to mention that those are stock! Was that not the stock color on the premium?

No, my premium came with stern factory black.

Quoted from GoonieKid76:

Oh, no worries at all!!! I took no offense, it's all good! Yeah, I realized within a day or so of the release that people weren't picking up on the nod to the comic books. I think we did the cabinet with the comic characters before we even got to the playfield. So when it was playfield design time, the idea was to use those characters and tie it all together. I think they were just figuring people would connect it to those comics - but most people don't know those exist (I wouldn't have either without working on this project!) It would have been cool if those comics had been played up a little more, but oh well. I'm super happy with how the game came out, I just feel like those caricature are the first thing people think of when they think of this game. And on my end, that was such a tiny little part of the overall art done for the game. But it is sort of front and center and a big focal part of the playfield. I almost wish I had a chance to do a custom playfield 2.0 version - with actual portraits done in my own real style. Maybe if I ever get a chance one day I'll just do that art for fun and put it out there to share! lol

Do you have any early renditions of the art package that didn’t get approved that you could share with the group? We would love to see anything

For those who have installed the expression lighting, is it worth the cost?

I had that same worry when I pulled the trigger on them. But once you see them in the game…you feel sooooo much better. Worth every penny.

Quoted from PinWoofer:

Hey Vespula - thanks for the shout-out!
PW now carries 5.25in speaker plates which provide a larger opening like what's on the LE (that is, an upgrade to replace your 4in pro/premium plates). If you would like to learn more about Spike-2 speaker plates, please take a look at the below article:
https://pinwoofer.com/blog/pinwoofer-spike2-backbox-speaker-plates-and-light-kit-compatibility/
Next, we frequently hear about disappointment over the low-cost audio upgrades. My humble advice is to calibrate yourself and consider what your cost savings will lead to; if you're not happy with the outcome of spending less, do you want to be left unable to hear much if any improvement?
Our kits are super easy to install with no kludging of mis-matched parts, and after install you'll not be left wondering what you did (you'll know it!). Plus, you'll enjoy a quick install and back in the game.
Have a stellar weekend everyone!

I just installed this kit in my premium and love it. Added the LED speaker ring kit as well.

Quality is top notch. And install was piece of cake.

So, what is it exactly? Is he interviewed for a bit, reads a passage in his book and talks about the time and that’s all? I was thinking about going, but not sure how good it would be.

I want to go here, but tickets are up around 160.00 at this point

You can get into a set of our EL based speaker lights using the below Black Friday code and save 20%. So, $132 compared to retail of $165:

Or you can bundle these into your PinWoofer Super Kit order and reach an internal cart price point of $123.75, which is 25% off retail (and also save 10% on your PinWoofer Audio Kit):

This is an epic offer that gets you into both the speaker lights and the best audio solution possible.
Happy shopping and have a stellar day![quoted image][quoted image]

I have this full setup in my premium and I have to say it’s freaking awesome. And stands out so much more than the other options.

You really need to see and feel the difference of the Pinwoofer setup in person.

I’m curious.. what shot do most people find the hardest on this game. For me personally, the right ramp is my kryptonite. I can hit the left and right side of it all day long, but getting it up the ramp seems to elude me about 90% of the time.

For me it’s the S and H targets on the right side for Bastille day.

that was what I was told by a source before. it would be nice to see the issue's root cause identified and resolved

i thought the main cause was the faulty connectors and the over crimped wire ties?

I feel (hope) those numbers are a little low.

I was thinking more like...
1000LE
1250Premium
2750Pro

Had one of those one last game before bed the other night…. Ended up lasting an hour.

Completed both books, but only got to 2011 . Drained while trying to get those last album combos.

It's often those one last game games! 11B? I can't fathom that. I can rarely approach 1 B (have surpassed it a few times). Not sure how you are only at 2011 though. Baffling on both sides. Lol.

LoL I just noticed my typo. I finished at year 2111 not 2011. DoH!
